I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Alan Rocca and his team. They helped me to replace my lost engagement ring. I was thrilled that their store was approved with my insurance. I was so upset and worried about how to go about getting a new ring similar to my original and their professional team took such great care of me. I worked mostly with Radica who helped me through the process. Radica walked me through the designing the new ring and she picked out for me the most beautiful center stone diamond. The ring is stunning! It is very close to my original design but with upgrades. It is a custom piece I cherish. They were respectful of budget and Alan himself helped me with the sizing and to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my ring. They turned a traumatic loss into a new treasure! My first purchase, a platinum engagement ring, was the largest I had ever made, and he made the entire process feel calm, straightforward, and easy. I shared what I was looking for and gave him the freedom to guide the decision, and the result exceeded expectations. His son Scott is equally great, and everything they deliver comes with GIA certifications, including QR-linked documentation, which makes the experience feel transparent and professional from start to finish. Richard is personable, has a magnetic sense of humor, and isn't afraid to tell you when something isn't worth it, which is rare in this industry. If you spend any time researching high-end jewelry, you quickly realize how much of the pricing at big brands is driven by name recognition, even though grading standards are consistent across the board because of GIA grading. Richard does an excellent job helping you understand what you're actually getting and how it compares, so you can make a confident, informed decision. We also had a custom wedding band made, inspired by a design from another noteworthy jeweler in London. The final product was excellent, the craftsmanship was strong, and the pricing felt very fair compared to larger retail brands. More recently, I purchased a Cartier watch for my wife, and the experience was just as smooth. It arrived quickly, exactly as specified, and any questions I had were answered promptly. Richard and Scott are consistently responsive and stand behind their work. He has also appraised jewelry for my family members, and those experiences were equally honest and direct. Their prices are a bit high, but look for coupons in some of the local coupon fliers. Also selling the scrap metal offset the cost somewhat, so if you have anything you're not wearing, why not get a few bucks out of it? Overall, very pleased with the service and quality. Turnover time was about a week on mine; mom is also still waiting for them to source a stone to fit a setting where she lost the original one (which could take time, of course).

So why not leave it to the professionals instead? Guy Blando runs private business with generations of jewelry experience. You won't find the cookie cutter conveyor belt atmosphere like Robbins Brothers. When you walk through the door, try not to get panicked about the lack of display jewelry. That's not what these guys do and if you want cookie cutter jewelry, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want something special with a bit of personality, Guy's your man. For people unfamiliar with the 4 C's (color, cut, clarity, carat) and for the guys, the 5th and most important C (cost). Guy takes care of all C's. All diamond virgins have to attend Guy's Diamond 101 class. This is where he sits you in one of his offices, teaches all the C's, and the leaves you to inspect and learn through practice. There are a lot of skanky jewelers out there, this will at least help you see through their scams. When the search for your perfect gemstone begins, you get to tap into Guy's expertise and his network of dealers to find the right stone with the right price. I had a great time working with all Guy and his personable staff. He helped me design a custom engagement ring based on my pictures and sketches and made sure everything met my exact specifications. The end result? I got the perfect ring made from scratch without having to pull my hair out during the process. You can entrust your big purchase to chains or snooty stores that have no interest other than lightening your wallet, why would you? Give Guy Blando a visit and he'll make sure you walk away happy (and definitely more knowledgeable).

I found out from a reputable company. , They didn't fix it. They replaced the original mechanism which was wind up with a new battery operated mechanism . That's not what I wanted. I want the original to be fixed. There's nothing I can do about it now the old mechanism is gone. It needed a new strap. I told them what I want. They chose the strap and put it on. The first one didn't fit. I brought it back They exchanged it. The second one didn't fit either I'll be bringing it in for an exchange. In the meantime, the crown fell off the watch. Luckily, I found it. I'll be bringing it in for that to be put back on. I also brought in my gold Tag watch for repairs. The issue with that one was also the crown. They replaced the crown with what they said was a tag crown. It still was not working I could not change the time. In order to change the day and time you have unscrew it then pull out the crown twice a little bit for the time then a little bit more for the date. I brought it back in. It was still under the year warranty. They sent it out to their watchmaker again. It came back with a different crown. The new crown second one was way too big. It was obvious when you looked at it. It barely fits in the opening, and you still cannot unscrew it then pull it out to change the time and date. I happen to be in Las Vegas I had the watch with me I was brought it to Tourneau, for those who don't know , that is one of the most reputable Swiss watch companies there is. They looked at my watch, of course said I should've brought it to an authorized tag dealer. Lark's watch repair did such a poor job. They said there were two screws missing on the inside. The crown was the totally wrong one for my watch and it had not been resealed and was very susceptible to getting water in it . overall lark did a terrible job on my Tag and I feel scammed me on my Clinton. I had paid $200 for the original repairs for the Tag . I don't remember what I paid for the Clintons " repair "bringing it to an authorized tag dealer probably would've cost me $500 to $700. I am now passed the one year warranty date. I'll be bringing both watches back in hoping to get my $200 back, so I can have the money to send it to somebody who knows how to fix a Tag watch. I'm sure they can replace the crown on the Clinton, but nothing can change my disappointment that there is a modern mechanism inside my vintage watch.

Let me start by saying we are in a pandemic, so why would you, as a business owner, tell me within 5 minutes of meeting me that you are so excited you just got back from your Caribbean vacation where NO ONE WAS WEARING MASKS? Why does that seem like it's an appropriate thing to come out of your mouth whatsoever? And laughing as if we are just making normal conversation. Another thing, why would you assume I live in the neighboring town when you are guessing my address to put in your computer--when we are smack dab in the middle of Hinsdale--a little bit of snobbery I sense there? Oh well. This lady (CJ--the wife/owner) seems to have zero filter and just kind of holds you hostage talking about whatever stream of conscious garbage comes out of her mouth. Again, another flag I should have minded, but unfortunately didn't. Anyway, long, long story short. The communication style of the store owners is terrible, they have no sense of ownership for possibly making a mistake on their end, and they seem like they could care less about return business. Thankfully there's like a zillion other jewelry stores in the area to go to in the future. Stay away from this one if you value your time, energy, sanity and money.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! We were sold a ring that was advertised and invoiced as 14K gold with diamond…read moreaccents. We were actually sold a gold plated ring with cubic zirconia! We would not have even known until our daughter's finger changed color. We had the ring appraised and inspected by another jeweler and appraiser. We took the ring back to the owners of Caffray, who claimed it was mismarked and that they had no idea! Yet they admitted to using gold plated material to size the ring, when I showed them the different metal color. Dave said of course he uses gold plate on a gold plate ring. I showed him my receipt where he personally typed 14K gold with diamond accents and charged me the price of 14k gold with diamond accents!! I'm sure when they bought the merchandise for resale purposes, they inspected it thoroughly and knew what they had! This is fraudulent! I would not trust this business! They also are going out of business and advertising big "going out of business sales" now! It makes me really wonder why now!
