Wow, hands down the best experience I have had at a Jeweler. I had the pleasure of working with Nicole to create a completely custom ring for my now wife. She is so great to work with, she was able to listen to what ideas I had and translate it into some great that the ring creator made perfectly. After five friends insisted I see Alan to pick out an engagement (and subsequent wedding) ring, I figured I should give it a shot. I came into it not knowing anything about diamonds, but came out with an incredibly beautiful ring for a very reasonable price. The folks here take the time to listen to what you want and can afford and then take more time to educate you on how to pick out a ring. Their prices are more than competitive, especially considering you get amazing customer service, free cleaning and polishing, and answers to every question a picky person like me could come up with. Our family has been going to Alan Rocca's since the business was owned by Alan's father. You will not find comparable quality, value or service anywhere. We got my engagement ring, our wedding rings, anniversary gifts and "just because" gifts at Alan's. We've sent numerous friends and family there and they all had the same great experience. Our recent purchase was a Christmas gift...a diamond band that we saw at another store. We described the setting and stones to Alan and he made an exact copy with better stones and in platinum. This place was magnificent! When I first arrived I was treated great. Receptionist offered me a drink. I went with water cause I knew I had a lot of questions about buying the engagement ring for my fiancée. Which brings me to Beth, my saleswoman who helped me out with every question I had along with pointing things out I had no idea about. Since I had an idea of what I wanted, I was able to swiftly pick a stone and have the ring casted and set within a week and a half. They found stones from the specs I was looking for and it was so fast and the quality is unreal. I'm pretty sure my fiancée is getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in her left arm for looking at it so much. I brought in my mothers 100 year old locket in Mid-November to be duplicated as a gift. A gift I needed for December 17th. I was assured this would be possible. I spoke to Nicole, and explained in great detail how important this was to me and exactly what I wanted. She took photos of the locket and kept the locket for the jeweler to make the mold, etc. A month later I was told it was ready, I was shocked to see the locket. They had added detail that was not on the original and the entire locket, front and back was scratched. Nicole said "nobody likes to be the guinea pig" and went on to explain what they could do to fix it. The locket was entirely wrong, other than the octagon shape, and I was so upset I literally cried. Nicole assured me she had a clear understanding of what I wanted and explained what they would do to correct it. This took place on Saturday, Nicole assured me the locket would be done on December 16th and offered to personally deliver it to me. December 16th I didn't hear anything from her, so I finally text Nicole at 5:43pm, I didn't here anything back from her until 9:45pm to tell me the locket was still at the engraver and they're doing there best. I text her back saying I was very disappointed and she didn't even have the courtesy to reply. Thursday I called and spoke with a woman named Greta. She was very apologetic and said the locket was at the store. Friday, December 18 I went to Alan Rocca to pick up the locket. I was greeted by Greta, who honestly couldn't be nicer. Nicole would not even speak with me. The locket was exactly the same, scratched, not polished, border that Nicole promised they would fix. I asked to speak with Nicole and was told she was with a guest. I said I'd wait, and was then told she was with Alan. At this point I did say to Greta, I'll wait, I'm not leaving until I speak with her because I want to know what happened. She went in back again and this time returned with Alan. Alan rudely told me he was insulted and I should take my moms locket and leave his store. I am still in disbelief. First I was told they could do this, secondly, it was not done correctly and I was told they could fix it, and to end up over a month later and no locket is really upsetting and disappointing. At this point I asked Greta if she thought this whole situation was okay and she answered no. I would never recommend Alan Rocca to anyone for any reason. The unprofessionalism is astounding. The only person who was kind and empathetic was Greta. Do yourself a favor and do not patronize this business. read more

My boyfriend bought me a ring ($18,000) from Alan Rocca in August 2014 using my credit card. (I agreed to this). I kept asking for platinum, they insisted on white gold. Fine. A few months later, I changed the center diamond from Asscher to Emerald cut--another $6,000. My fiance and I ended the engagement in November. I went back to Alan Rocca to beg for a refund, explaining everything that happened. They wouldn't even consider it. I know the landlord who owns Rocca's bulding. He asked Rocca for a refund. Rocca refused. Rocca told my ex, "No one wants Emerald cut diamonds. That was a bad choice." Finally, I took the ring to an independent jeweler. I told him the price ($24,000). He said the ring had shabby workmanship, a poorly cut diamond, white gold and oversized baguettes on the side. I should have paid about $14,000. I am really disappointed and insulted that Rocca treated me this poorly. I am not a jewelry expert but I certainly learned a lot about Rocca from my experience. I highly recommend going elsewhere for jewelry. Overpriced, untrustworthy, poor workmanship. read more

Well I feel the need to update my first review. My engagement ring left me speechless - and I rarely shut my mouth. This ring was seriously more beautiful than I could even imagine. My bf, excuse me, my fiancee, relayed that when he picked up the ring and paid for it, the owner came out to congratulate him and thank him for his business. he also said the sales person was a bit more friendly. I will 100% return to Alan Rocca for our wedding bands, but I have learned that if you're not satisfied with the service, just ask to speak with someone else. Best service, hands down. I went to Alan Rocca looking for an engagement ring, their entire process was fantastic. The entire sales staff recognizes me everytime I come in, which is a nice touch. The designer who worked on my ring always remembers the ring because it was so stunning. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly and we feel like we have a personal connection with them. Beth is our go-to sales woman and we appreciate her friendliness and attention to detail. We spoke about a price on some groomsmen gifts for our wedding over a year ago, and when we came in last week to purchase our wedding bands, they rememebered the groomsmen gifts and even the two prices she quoted me. My fiance found Alan Rocca jewelers when he was looking for an engagement ring. He decided to purchase the diamond through his bank (USAA) and was given the run-around by a number of jewelers who wouldn't set a diamond that he hadn't purchased through them. This was not the case at Alan Rocca where they were more than happy to custom design a setting for him and pull the whole thing together. The ring is stunning, and the craftsmanship is outstanding. We have since returned to Alan Rocca for our wedding bands. We have worked directly with a salesperson named Ellen who is just terrific. The shop appears very exclusive - you have to ring a doorbell to be let in - but once you are inside, you are made to feel incredibly welcome. I have custom designed a couple of rings as well as purchased a few of their beautiful pieces in the showroom. Every experience with their team has been stellar and I love that they do all of their work on site! They take your money and after you cancel the order they keep your down payment and charge you for a restocking fee. Which was never discussed and or agreeed upon, initially. Furthermore any warranty that they offer you originally, is subject to change at the company's discretion. Which I discovered when I went to pickup a poorly made piece, from this jeweler. I LOVE MY RING!!! Talk about spectacular!!! Only draw back was that it needed to be sized...no big deal - it is an engagement ring (and a huge surprise) and my ring size was a guess!! I worked with Alicia to create a custom wedding band to match my engagement ring. When I went in, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but Alicia had wonderful suggestions for something that would really complement my engagement ring. When the ideal design didn't fit into my budget, Alicia explained ways we could tweak it (without losing any of the overall look) so that I could afford the ring. After several weeks of back and forth (I live in another state), I received the most beautiful wedding band. It's even better than I imagined! I'm insanely picky, so this is quite unusual. I purchased my wife's engagement ring and wedding band there over 20 years ago. On our 10 year anniversary, I wanted to upgrade her ring. Not a problem. They gave me a credit for the SAME AMOUNT as I purchased the ring for 10 years prior to then and gave me a great deal on the new ring. I didn't realize finding a band to match my engagement ring (not purchased here) would be so difficult. I wear a size 4.5 which apparently takes most franchise Jewlery stores over 6 -12 weeks to size. Alan Rocca was able to design me a band that matched perfectly in only 6 days ! The staff is so wonderful to work with. They met me at my budget and even honored the price. Not to mention the quality is outstanding. I wish I found them before I purchased my engagement ring. IMPERSONAL, RUDE AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! We have been looking at many stores in the area for an engagement ring and found online that Alan Rocca carried a specific designer out of New York that we were interested in, which we never saw even after asking. From the outside to the entrance lobby, in which we needed a door bell to enter, the store appeared to be of high quality and outstanding customer service to everyone. The interactions with the hostess was awkward and impersonal. In the tiny two room "showroom" we didn't know where to go since the hostess wasn't clear. When the sales woman finally came out to greet us, she was not professional as she was chewing on food while she attempted to ask what we were there for. We mentioned what types of rings we were interested in and yet we were met with no clear answers or direction. Although she kept saying they could design a specific ring for us, she then stated "Thats the beauty of computers. Even someone like our hostess who knows how to use CAD helps us out." She also never took any notes or helped us go in a clear direction. When we went to other places we had certified gemologists assisting us and leading us in the right direction. It as if we were not good enough for this store. We had to ask her to take our information and to write down specific ring information. Don't let the looks deceive you. There are much better jewelers in the area that will fully take care of you and your purchase. Their policy on the rings is not good either. You HAVE to go in every 3 to 6 months for them to honor their supposed warranty. We have been to many jewelers and have never been met with this poor customer service and lack of guarantee in their designs and craftsmanship. They will not replace anything for the ring unless you go for the required cleanings and even then it is questionable if they will help you with your needs. In the words of our sales woman, "We don't know what you did to go bang up your ring." We are not the type of people to purposefully ruin such a large investment and for her to think that we are is rude. You are not only buying a ring but you are also investing in the service and commitment of the jeweler you are buying from. There are plenty of other jewelers in the area that are committed to your individual needs and interested in gaining you as a lifelong customer. Perhaps if we had a different sales person our experience would have been more positive, but each employee should equally represent the company. read more
