American Home Shield, our home warranty company, had Diamond come and service our dryer last week after it suddenly stopped working. I called to arrange for an appointment on Friday afternoon and they were able to schedule us for Monday morning, so that was not only very lucky, but also super convenient. I received a confirmation email and phone call about the appointment on Friday from Diamond. On Monday I was expecting Diamond between 11 am and 2 pm and around 12:30 (I think) I received a phone call letting me know that Jimmy (I believe this was his name) would be arriving in about 20 minutes. Excellent. Jimmy arrived right on time and took our dryer apart, cleaned the inside back panel of 15 years of lint (TIP: unscrew the back panel of your dryer and check for lint leaks from your dryer hose to prevent unwanted fires) and made a really good suggestion about running an extension to our dryer vent under our deck and then told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dryer, but the outlet or fuse box was damaged. Nuts. The dryer had to be ruled out, so this visit was helpful and Diamond was professional and polite. While Jimmy put the dryer back together we had a nice chat about new appliance technology and then he made suggestions about what we should do next to fix the electrical problem. We ended up hiring a family friend to replace the outlet and fuse box (thanks for the tip Jimmy!) and BOOM the dryer started running again like a champ. We would hire Diamond again without hesitation. They were on time, helpful and professional. Even though our problem was not resolved, it was because it was beyond their scope of expertise - electrical work - and they did everything they possibly could to help us. read more

Today is 12/18/25 got delivered today a KitchenAId dishwasher. Chose to install ourselves. The connector for the hoses, they changed the size of it. My husband went to Diamond Factory Service, during regular business hours & they say closed. We explained to the tech that the oven door was not closing flush and he agreed. However, once we received his report via email, it stated that the "oven was working as design." 1/18 UPDATE: January 16, 2024: DFS called at 11:50 am and left a message to move up our appointment four whole whopping days to Jan 25. Still 8 days out from today and 10 days out from the missed appointment. Tried calling back at 1PM because they said *I* must call back if I want the appointment. Outgoing message states they are out to lunch until 1:15 PM and cannot leave a voicemail for a return call. They left the voicemail TEN MINUTES before their scheduled lunch time where I cannot get a hold of them or or leave a voicemail. Cute. AGAIN, I am unable to leave a voicemail for DFS. Called back at 1:20. Was on hold for 17 minutes. When I was at position #2 in queue per the automated system, I got a recording that due to "heavy call volume we cannot take your call... thank you and goodbye." I am beyond frustrated chasing DFS and playing "their" game at this point. January 17, 2024: Called DFS at 8:01 AM. Again, exactly 17 minutes on hold. This time I recorded a video of what I hear, every single time, before I get hung up on it at exactly the 17 minute mark. It doesn't matter what DFS number I call. DFS responds to original yelp review "weather plays a factor on getting to homes." Is weather your excuse for NEVER answering your phones, no voicemail available or returning calls when I use the prompt to have my call returned to avoid hold? You have phone banks outside of Michigan so try again. Your customer "experience" is less than desirable and even your responses to reviews (not just mine) are smug, apathetic and clearly unapologetical. I have asked Whirlpool to contact you on your bat phone so I can have that 1/25 appointment since I have spent hours on hold to be hung up on trying to snag that appt "ASAP". ********ORIGINAL REVIEW 1/15/2024********** 1) Do not buy any whirlpool products because this seems to be their only contracted repair company in SW Michigan. 2) They are horribly understaffed and are booking two weeks out: Warranty claim opened December 19, 2023, initial diagnostics appointment January 2, 2023. Repairman Barry was awesome but did not have parts, made repair appointment for January 15, 2023. 3) They cannot work under "Michigan Weather Conditions." Too cold and snowy and had to reschedule January 15 repair for January 30. Paid $50 for a driveway plow right before the "Maytag Repairman" cancelled. Completely unacceptable. Avoid Whirlpool products (including Maytag) and avoid Diamond Factory Service if at all possible. I am sure it will be January in Michigan on January 30 for my next appointment and they will have to reschedule for mid February and then it will be February in Michigan to only reschedule again.... DAMAGED OUR HOME NO COMPENSATION. Came to our home to fix a brand new dryer. Tech was nice enough, knowledgeable enough but accidentally dropped his heavy drill straight down on our luxury vinyl floor. Left a very deep gouge that would catch your bare foot or sock right in front of the dryer. The tech admitted it, submitted to his supervisor. The supervisor offered $150 via text from ***-***-4312 and we accepted. (That part of the text thread has mysteriously has disappeared but we had screenshot the entire interaction and we also have before shots of our floor. We've dealt with too many companies like this before and it's why we document EVERYTHING.) Weeks and weeks and weeks of texting and calling they won' t make good on the money to fix our floor they damaged. I called and asked to speak to someone in charge and they told me I had to speak to who was texting me. He texted me back immediately and then said his work phone had been busted for weeks so he wasn't getting messages? So I've texted him twice since then no response whatsoever. So, Diamond might be ok for repairs but in our case they damaged our floors, admitted they damaged our floors, promised compensation and then have ghosted us for weeks. I supposed we will have to file a small claims court case. And in case you respond Diamond Factory Service, don't tell me to text or call. You have my number. I know you have my number and my address. I've been trying to call or text you for weeks and you just ghost me. Thanks for the damage to our flooring. UPDATE: Was texted that a check has been cut but it can take 4 weeks. Will report back. UPDATE 2: 4 weeks after check was requested I never got a check. Didn't pay as promised. If they do I will report back. But as of yet damaged floor, promised payment, no payment. UPDATE 3: Did receive the check today for reimbursement after a BBB complaint. We purchased an extended warranty on a washer, and when it stopped working, Diamond was the technician that was supposed to come out and look at it. BUT FIRST, they made us wait a week to receive a call back from a technician to troubleshoot the problem before they would even schedule a date to come look at it. Once they troubleshooted it, they ordered two parts that were to be delivered later that week. We scheduled an appointment for the day after the parts were to be delivered. We got an email the day before the parts were to be delivered that the parts were delayed. So, they cancelled the technician appointment, and said they would reschedule when the parts arrived. The parts arrived 3 days late. We waited and waited for a technician to call us back to schedule a service appointment with no response. When we finally received a call, they told us that we had to start another claim, because the first one had been closed. We called Diamond and said this was unacceptable. They did not care, and said that if we write a review about them, they would never come out to service any of our appliances. We told them that we don't want them to come out if this is how they do business. We then had to get a different service company to come service our washer. Mistakes happen, but Rich proceeded to render our washer inoperable, now unable to even power on. He admitted fault, apologized, and said he would be back within the week to fix. 5 calls later and we still have a broken washer rendered completely useless in a family with 3 young kids. A technician came in to look at my Whirlpool dishwasher leaking 20-ish minutes into the cycle. He tried to leave after 15 minutes saying it is not leaking. When he finally saw it leaking he told me the door seal I replaced from Amazon was no good and I needed an OEM seal. I reluctantly let him replace it. He then complained about being here more than an hour and would not wait to see if that fixed the leak before billing me. After he left, it leaked. When I opened the dishwasher, the door seal looked different. I verified from Whirlpool's repair website that the technician installed the door seal backwards. The flat side of the seal should be against the side of the tub and not in towards the inside of the dishwasher. I re-installed the door seal the correct way and the leak remains. When I called to have a different tech come back, they scheduled and then cancelled the day of the appointment. They are refusing return calls from me requesting a refund for a door seal that was installed wrong and not needed anyway. I see from other reviews they seem to be quick recommend parts and not refund them when the part does not fix the issue. They are unprofessional in complaining how long a fix takes and not waiting to see if a repair fixes the issue. On top of that, it is unethical to not refund parts not needed and not return to fix the actual issue. I had another technician from a different company come in. He also confirmed the seal was installed backwards and fix the issue in a single visit. Edit: Since posting the review, I have heard from a manager. Will advised only that I will not be refunded. Bill came out to our home, yesterday, and installed a new ice maker. The refrigerator has had other issues...only a little over 2 years old. It has been having issues for over a month. I have had another tech out here, weekly, for the whole month. He fixed one issue. The ice maker still did not work, so it was replaced. Works perfectly, now. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our 2 year old Maytag washing machine is refusing to drain and gets stuck on the wash cycle. At times it won't even turn on when plugged in and other times it does but won't even start. We waited 5 days for someone to come out. Our technician Jason came, was dismissive and told us everything was fine. Did not run a full cycle and blamed our plumbing. 5 minutes after he left we tried to run a load and the machine won't even sense or lock the lid. We called and told them that it was not fixed. Both Cindy and Julie were very condescending, unapologetic, and unprofessional and told us we'd have to wait several more days for someone else to come out. Jason called us and told us the lid was locking when he checked... not true.. and that it's not company policy to show us it's working or run a full load before he leaves. We used this company because Whirlpool referred us here. DO NOT USE THEM!! We asked to speak with the owner and were told this person doesn't take calls. Julie reluctantly said she would refund us the $125 and suggested we go with another company. We went with another company who promptly came out and advised us that our machine has bad windings and the motor is defective. Nothing at all to do with plumbing. STAY AWAY!!! read more

We had a warranty issue with our Whirlpool washer and the transmission. Another company diagnosed the problem prior to us realizing that it was still under warranty. The DFS tech came out initially, stated he didn't realize it was the transmission and would need to order the part and come back. He was then sick. Then the part he did have was broken. Then he finally had the part and completely destroyed the bottom of the wash basket, spraying plastic pieces all over our laundry room. This part needed to be ordered. The washer was "fixed" after 5 trips. Now the machine won't lock so we need to have them come out again. I do not know if this locking issue is related to the amount of plastic that was shattered and thrown all over the inside of the washer and all over our floor. The guy on the phone is sarcastic and rude. The woman who responds to these reviews appears to be sarcastic and rude as well and there is zero interest in attempting to provide decent customer service. Unfortunately Diamond Factory knows they've hit the sweet spot with their proximity to Whirlpool and can continue to receive all warranty business while providing sub-part customer service. Their website also does not include email addresses or any other contact information outside of their 800 number. From the looks of their reviews on Yelp and elsewhere, there are a lot of unsatisfied customer with DFS and they don't care. read more

Adam serviced our dishwasher today and he was AMAZING! We have had non stop issues with our dishwasher since we purchased it just a few short months ago. We have had it serviced several times by Diamond but Adam went above and beyond today! He treats you with respect and makes sure you understand everything he is doing. Once he fixed the current issue, he took time to explain how to make the dishwasher the most effective. He also filled us in on things to look for when purchasing a new dishwasher. I expected them from 9am to noon, instead they came at 5pm. That wasn't even the worst part, they charged me $280 to repair the washing machine. The broken part was an internal valve and the job took less than 30 minutes. When I asked for an itemized bill, they charged me over $90 for the valve (which costs $15-40), $60 for the labor (which seemed fair), but over $110 for the service call. They wouldn't waive the service call charge or the additional labor fee despite it being my understanding that the labor would be included. I would not recommend. read more

23 days ago I took off work so I could be here when the service tech came to fix our KitchenAid dishwasher. He showed up late and didn't have the right parts. A few days after that, he showed back up and still didn't have all of the right parts and the one he had was broken. Today, same tech shows up, installs the parts, says it's fixed and leaves. Dishwasher still isn't fixed, now the lights flash and it's says it's washing, but it isn't. I call back and was told maybe Monday....that's almost 4 weeks and 4 visits later....and you know what I have to do each time they return...go into work late or leave early. I begged for another company in the area to service the warranty...but Diamond Factory is the only one. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced with anything...and I've switched cable companies more than once. I'm so disappointed in how this has worked out...not sure if I stop buying Whirlpool products or stop buying the extended warranty....probably the extended warranty only because I have a lot of friends that work at Whirlpool. The last review elicited a response and I was told that my phone call got "lost" because of the Internet phone or something like that. As for the reviews I am told that people get this company confused with another. That I am beginning to believe is yet another "story". I was also going to get a Home Warranty in which Diamond would be the servicing technicians for my Kitchen Aid products. However, now no way. In fact I have been in contact with Kitchen Aid to let them know that perhaps they need to find another provider. And I won't even get into the last minute cancellation because no one bothered to tell the tech he needed a dolly to pull out the oven. Service tech replaced the blown thermo fuse twice without correcting the cause of blown fuse. 2 of the 3 service request were a no show no call. 3 rd. request they never showed up and never called, whirlpool rep told me they were here but that is not true, they never showed up! KitchenAid refrigerator just quit on me. Living in New Buffalo, not many choices for repair services. Michigan City Menards appliance department recommended Diamond. After scheduling appointment, they arrived within time window ( barely), and addressed and solved problem with minimal costs. Technician was professional and helpful, also providing me with ways to resolve problem in the future. DO NOT USE! 6 month refrigerator under warranty our Whirlpool ice maker was not making ice. They came and replaced the ice maker and within 24 hours we have water from the ice maker dripping down the inside of the freezer and water running down the outside pooling water on the floor. I called to request immediate service due to the problem being caused by them and they scheduled me a week out and then hung up on me. I tried calling back to get hung up on again. I tried going thru their showroom asking for management to be hung up on a third time. BEWARE: They made the situation worse and refused to talk to me when I called for urgent help as who knows what damage is being created by the water flowing out of the freezer onto my floor. They made the situation worse! Recommendation: DO NOT USE! Zero stars for this company. I still can't believe the young girl hung up on me and I wasn't even yelling/swearing just explaining the situation and she literally hung up on me. Unfortunately I do not have a choice in using this company. Bought a Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator from Lowe's in January 2017. March 2019 stopped working; three repair visits from Diamond before they could properly fix the appliance. Lost all food since it took a week for Diamond Repair to completely fix. Fast forward May 2020 refrigerator quits AGAIN. Diamond came yesterday, failed to properly fix the problem. They are coming back tomorrow. All food now spoiled since this started on Friday and Diamond couldn't come till yesterday. I asked the tech if he was busy during the Pandemic - he said not really. I texted the repair guy yesterday five hours after he was here telling him it wasn't cooling. He called back this morning. He can't come back, I need to reschedule. Diamond. When Lowe's called Diamond they claimed they are too busy to come today - really. How about honestly and fixing the problem the first time. The person answered the phone was very unfriendly. Once the part came in I still have to wait 4 days for them to come out. I will never do business here again. We had a great experience with Diamond. Scheduling service was easy on the Kitchenaid website for warranty service. Kyle was a delight to have. He phoned when he was on his way. He put on booties as soon as he entered the house. He listened to our concern, ran a quick test to confirm and quickly resolved the issue (which was caused by a poor installation). Kyle was exceptionally professional and personable, and went above and beyond. In my experience, most appliance repair technicians don't exhibit these qualities, so our expectations were far exceeded. Thank you! read more
