The technician, Steve was very professional, and performed services well. I would trust and use him again. My services went through American Home Shield. When I filed for services, Sears Appliance responded immediately with an appointment that was very timely - my oven control panel was going out. However, the appointment was soon rescheduled as a part needed to be ordered. The second appointment I stayed home (8-4) and no call, no show - I rescheduled. 3rd appointment good with notice of in transit (after I called to ask) but overall took about 3 weeks to fix oven. Aside from long time to fix - and the no-show, no-call appointment, I would've rated MUCH higher. read more

Washer "repair". Time window given between 8:00 and 12:00. Technician arrived at 2:30 with not even a reason or apology given for being so late. Next he located the bottle cap that I knew was between the two drums. I even held the lid for him so he could get it out. No actual repairs needed. No new parts. Labor only. Almost $400. Absurd. Best part was when he had me sign a blank white screen on his phone for "repair completed" (I should have inquired a bit more before signing so dumb on my part) which later showed up in my email as my acceptance of the estimate. The repair man Calvin was great. Sears however sucks! They do not know how to keep an appointment. Sears rescheduled on me for four weeks each time saying between 8 and 8 pm. So a simple repair cost me at least four days of missing work for them to say sorry we just couldn't make it today. Sears home protection agreement service is poorly provided. I had my stove and washer diagnosed for repair since April 2025. It took 6 weeks for the parts to come. My stove parts had not come for repair. Every time I called SEARS, they keep postponing the repair date. I would not recommend SEARS protection agreement service to anyone. Scheduled an appointment; given window of arrival from 7am-4pm. At 3:45 pm sent a text that the tech wasn't coming today and would come tomorrow. Made arrangements for someone to be at the house to meet the tech and they waited for 9 hours for this no show. Received numerous texts throughout the day that tech would arrive "soon" with varios wndows of time for arrival. Parts are being returned and refund demanded. Outrageous behavior. Told refrigerator parts needed to be ordered and would be back in a week. That turned into a two week delay. Replaced evaporator motor. New motor constantly running and a higher pitch. Returned to be told by tech he couldn't make it any better than it was. Offered refund minus the service call fee. Two weeks later and still no refund. Phone numbers go to the same AI system. Can't talk to a person. I thought Sears was a reputable company to call yet it's been a poor experience. Apparently this company bought the rights to use the Sears brand name. Friendly & competent their work. Day of service usually works well, despite the Sears way of scheduling 8a-5p so your day is locked up for them. Three visits to learn fridge is not repairable- but the tech explained the situation well and reasons for not pursuing further attempts to repair. He did leave without plugging it back in, which stopped the water and air circulation. Scheduling process to reach them to schedule service is a headache itself. Website might've been easier but Sears Home Warranty doesn't make either the website or phone smooth for the customer, just for themselves. read more

Charged me 7 times the actual cost of the part and worked out to over $600 an hour for their labor charges. I have tried calling over half a dozen times, done the live chat and emailed as directed as well as talking to the technician. I've never been able to actually talk to a live person. My email has never been responded to in over a week and the tech said his supervisor would look into it but have never received follow up. I had communication before my service appointment and all was good until Richard N. from Sears Home Services showed up. The water filter on my Whirlpool refrigerator could not be removed, door on the front was gone. The tech said that he couldn't remove it and I needed a new filter unit and he just happened to have one in his truck. So $500. later, half for the unit and half labor, he was here from 1:35 until 2:36 pm according to my google doorbell. $250. for an hour labor is pretty steep! My brother arrived as Richard was leaving and he picked up the old unit and had the filter out in 3 seconds. I feel taken advantage of (single woman) and scammed. I will post my experience to social media, tell everyone I know about Sears Home Services (sure wish I had read these reviews sooner) and never, ever call Sears Home Services again. Also when I made the appointment the gal told me that the charge for diagnostic $139 would be deducted from the repair charge but no that didn't happen either. The technician was a good guy, he said we had a loose hose on our dishwasher and that is why it wasn't cleaning properly. After he fixed the hose, he left. The dishwasher is still not washing our dishes clean. We need to have someone come back out! read more
