On loading day seven guys came and were done with our very full house within about 4.5 hours. Three days later (it was our request to delay delivery and unloading) four of them met us in Vermont and within 6 hours had unloaded everything to the locations in the house that we requested. He even threw in a free kitchen packing kit and said the guys would help. Cool. He also gave me discount and I was happy. Kion calls me an hour later asking me to confirm the move. What? I spoke to Chris. We go over things and he tells me we are good to go. I am emailed a confirmation and then see a different price. I call back and speak to him again and he says, oh, that is an estimate but we would be done before that price. Then, I get a call from Mike. He wants to confirm my move and inventory. What the heck? He says his notes are confusing so he wants to check. We go over things, AGAIN. He then tells me that it sounds like more work so, he is going to send 5 guys instead of the original 2 guys and a truck because it's gonna be a big job and that it would take 9-12 hours and double the price that I was told. Umm, what? For a 2 bedroom apartment?? He tells me I can speak to his general manager, Kion. I literally confirmed with him before! I literally start crying because I am already stressed from preparing to move in a timely manner before the 31st. Kion and I speak again and he won't even let me get a word in and trying to say that the numbers Mike estimated are correct and that there is no way it wouldn't be a full day job. I cancelled, he says he will return my deposit and then transfers me to customer care where the guys asks me what can he help me with? You tell me, sir. When we arrived they put everything in the new house where we wanted it and even though we could tell they were suffering from the extreme heat and the weight and amount of our things, they never lagged or complained. Booking was easy and done entirely online and then via email and text message for confirmations. My movers were Luca and Alpha. The called about 40 minutes before the start time to let me know their ETA, which was actually about 10 minutes before the arrival window started so we were off to a great start. Moving day is always nerve-wracking and adding strangers into the mix can be unpredictable, but they both took the time to introduce themselves by name and were so polite, kind, and calm right off the bat that it was a huge relief. We did a quick walkthrough of the house and they asked for clarifications or more information at times, which was great because I felt like they were really listening and paying attention to my comments and concerns. Then the move itself was smooth and uneventful. I didn't have any concerns about my furniture because I saw them wrapping everything up securely. At one point, a screw came loose from one of my table legs. Alpha found me to ask if I knew about any issues with the legs on that table. I told him it was a second-hand table so I wasn't sure, but asked if it was a big issue. He said no, and that he could put the screw back in, but he wanted other make sure I knew it had happened. I know that's partially because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do, but I still appreciated that they called it to my attention right away so there weren't any issues or questions later, and that he was able to fix it for me. Once we got to the new place, they took the time to ask where I wanted specific furniture or boxes to go in my new place so that I wouldn't have to move it all to a different room later. They wrapped up just a little ahead of the estimated time and it was super convenient to pay with Venmo. All-in-all it was a great experience and I'd use them again if I'm moving in the area.
