My mother was transferred to this dump on 08/13/2022 from The Valley Hospital. My sister and I had…read moreto make a tough decision on short term rehab very quickly since the hospital was pushing for discharge. Our mom was hospitalized for a month after have an issue with her sodium (dangerously low) and a bout with internal bleeding. The doctor said she needed rehab to get stronger for cancer treatment. As soon as we walked in after following the ambulance from the hospital my skin was crawling. It is filthy and in need of desperate repair. The transport could not move her to the bed because it was broken! They put her in a shared room that was dirty and smelled. She had no tv and broken dressers and closet. When I asked the nurse for an information package for the facility I was asked if I had a paper and pen to write information down. Seriously????? I was in shock. I am in the medical field and made that known to her and was well versed in medical ethics and patient quality of life. I called the facility in the early evening to check on mom and the nurse asked me if she can take medication by mouth. I literally shrieked and told her absolutely not, she has a feeding tube in her stomach and if she gets meds by moth she could choke and/or aspirate and die. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Since it was the weekend we have to wait until Monday to get her transferred out.

The caregiver constantly manipulates the family against each other in order to get his way. Every time I try to replace him the agency interferes and ignores my requests even though I am the one hired them and I am the one who pays the caregiver who I dislike immensely. I should not have to be a situation where I am forced to keep a caregiver that I dislike. They don't return my phone calls and they ignore my requests to get a different caregiver. Instead of working with me to replace this caregiver who has created an extremely toxic environment, the agency will go behind my back and reach out to another family member who has very little to do with the caregiving, is easily manipulated and it results in arguments about replacing the caregiver. I don't want a caregiver who is only in it for the money and who does not have patients wellbeing in mind. I constantly have to step in and make sure the patient is being cared for. I should be allowed to replace a caregiver that I have no trust in. The caregiver should not be in charge and the agency should not be in charge. Thay have made a difficult situation even more difficult by pitting family members against each other. I dislike them immensely. Be careful
