My mother was briefly in this facility recently. It was a shocking experience. The facility was run…read moredown and dirty. While everyone we met was very nice, several repeatedly verbalized how understaffed they are and how poor the facilities are. The air conditioning did not work, nor did the television remote. The room was clearly meant for one person and my mother was a second patient stuck in a small space. On more than one occasion her oxygen machine began to squirt water all over her face and one time when I reported it I was told "oh that is okay." I was shocked that anyone could walk in and out, even at 9 oclock at night. I appreciated the kindness of several staff members, but having a parent there was scary and we felt helpless. I am not sure if I would be writing a review if the above was the worst of it. Unfortunately, on the second day my sibling showed up at 1pm and found that my mother was still asleep. At that point we learned that she had not woken up at all that day for longer than a few minutes. When asked whether she had spoken at all we were told yes, she had repeatedly said "Help me." She was left in bed and ignored, and nobody told us. My sister tried to wake her up and eventually the daughter of another patient came to help her, but she would not wake. When she said she needed to return to the hospital she experienced resistance, and later my sister overheard staff talking about how stupid it was for her to leave. Needless to say, when she arrived at the hospital she ended up in ICU and we are still working to understand what happened. We are not able to comment on the quality of the rehab work since it never occurred. I do not question whether there are good people working at this facility (we saw it), but it is very clear that they lack the staff, training, and resources for the job. I will forever live with the guilt of allowing my mother to stay there, though.

Excellent place! My father-in-law is here for rehab right now…read more Personally, I don't do good in hospitals or facilities like that, but this place is very very nice! The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the security in this place is top notch. Everyone needs to sign in, get a visitors pass, and sign out when they leave. Even if you are going to your car for a second. The grounds are very well kept. And the inside is just as nice. I don't think I've ever seen a place like that, that nice! I cannot describe how nice it is lol! My father-in-law is in a wing where the people don't stay, they are there for short-term rehab. That area is a little dated, and isn't as nice as the rest of the building.... It reminds me of a sterile hospital. But the rest of the building where the permanent / partial live alone residents live is very nice. It feels like a hotel lol! There is a common area/ living room? That we hang out in. It is Very well kept. A small issue is the parking lot isn't big enough if there are many visitors. I had to wait 20 minutes for a spot the other day.... While other people kept parking illegally! I didn't know that you could park across the street at aldi or dollar store. All in all, it is a very nice facility. Slight parking issue, older part of the building isn't as nice, but super friendly staff, you can tell that they care about their jobs and where they work! If you or a loved one needs to go into rehab, this is definitely a top notch facility.

Our family was always well informed of Dad's health care and every issue he had by the amazing nursing and aid staff until he passed peacefully. The end of life hospice care was exceptional . We were always at ease knowing Dad was being well taken care of and highly recommend Llanfair House when seeking professional, caring long term care for loved ones.

Staff is excellent, and that's the most important part for us. Nursing team is top notch, caring, and professional. Nurse Lisa runs the health-care team and she is easy to work with and has excellent medical judgment. Nurse Julie is also great. If your parent needs a place like this, Brighton Gardens is a good choice, I can whole heartedly recommend them

My mother currently lives in this retirement home, and after a year and a half she is still not…read morecomfortable. We were warned that this is a deficient facility, but were persuaded to come because it is under new administration. Aides wake her up at 6 am, though she needs only one medication per day which could be administered any time. and when she fell recently, the aides took half a day to come to help her. One serious problem is that the staff turns around frequently. Several staff members are long-time employees and get to know residents and care about them. but many are there for short stints, even just for weekends it seems. It makes me wonder if the short stints are a policy to save the company money. I have been in the 'memory care' or Alzheimer's wing, to visit my father with my mother, and there are aides there who ignore pleas for help by residents. Some are attentive and others just call out to feeble and distracted residents to 'sit down!.' We moved my parents to this facility, hoping my mother would count on the professional help that Brighton Gardens brags about in its advertisements and in the recorded message you hear while waiting, and waiting, to be connected to an aide. But I'm afraid we'll have to look for another residence and move them again. For a high price you get low level service and anxiety at Brighton Gardens.
