We adopted our new dog, Desi, on Sunday from a county shelter. She is a beautiful eight-year-old husky. Desi was in bad shape. Very unkempt and dirty. We wanted to get her cleaned up as soon as possible. I called Meadows Pet Care on Monday, and they were able to get us in Tuesday morning. When we arrived, she was greeted by their "Husky Expert". We discussed what the service was going to be in detail, and she gave me an approximate time when I could pick her up. Two-and-a-half hours later I found a very happy, clean, and deshedded Desi, ready to go home. It was clear that she was treated very nicely, and the woman did a great job with her. The price was fully in line with what I expected after talking with my daughter who has two Huskies she has taken to a few other places. This was good experience for me and my dog. Mary did a wonderful job grooming my little (giant) lady. She's a mix between a German Shepherd and a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier so she has a thick and longish coat that sheds a LOT!! I don't know anything on how a dog should be groomed, so all I said was to trim her coat, and clean up her uggs (my dog looks like she's wearing furry boots) and just clean up her face while maintaining the shaggy bearded look. Perfect, huh!? I'm very pleased. My dog looks like she could win a trophy at the AKC... if... you know... they had a mutt category (Although I bet I could slip her in as a "mini" Irish Wolfhound). My dog suffered blunt force trauma to her face and their excuse was extremely unacceptable. My vet confirmed is was blunt force not caused by another animal. My dog now flinches and has separation anxiety! No dog should flinch unless you have done something extremely bad to them! I'm extremely saddened by this, I thought this was a place I could trust, I regret it thinking what else have they've done to my dog without me knowing. If anyone's fur baby suffered ANY Injury from this place call the Humane Law Enforcement line immediately at 619-299-7012. They are looking for additional cases, no matter how long ago it was report it! Prevent other fur babies from getting injured. We made a same-day appointment and were given a quote for our 2 dogs. They also gave us a first-time discount on tooth brushing. We had been going to a big corporate chain for dog grooming but were really dissatisfied with the services. We're happy to find this small business run by people that truly care about pets and their owners. Came to this groomer out of local convenience, but will be bringing my business elsewhere. The gentleman (I assume owner) behind the desk provides zero customer service, his lackadaisical approach is simply rude. Additionally, grooming instructions have not been followed after 3 visits and today my dog even came back with her leg bandaged and bloody (which he attributed to a non-existent "sore" that was "already there"). We had been going to another local groomer in San Marcos (Sydnees) for about 2 years and had the same groomer the entire time and things turned for the worst after she left (Our dog may have been mistreated with the new groomer), so we were faced with the challenge of finding a 5 Star Groomer that we could trust. We took our standard poodle, Rob, to Meadows and tried out the self grooming to gauge the vibe and after the first visit we knew we picked a winner. They're baths are nice and full sized, equipment is top of the line, they have everything you need, and the service from Ron and Jim is just top-shelf all around. They're real down to earth and take the time to understand you and your pup. We had nothing but an amazing experience out of the last 7 times we've gone for self-service. So then my wife gave the green light for having them groom our poodle, Rob, and we were floored with the experience and the final look! Jim did an OUTSTANDING job and showed nothing but love for Rob. Rob ultimately went from initially being okay with going to a groomer, to hating the grooming experience (at Sydnees) and growling at me once I entered the parking lot, to LOVING the groomers once coming to Meadows!! Good groomers here. Pricing is decent. Not the best and not the worst. They will do what you ask but you have to be very specific and make sure you don't forget mention anything you want done. Otherwise they won't know. They will work with you if you're on a time crunch but if you have big dogs like my Siberian Husky and German shepherd expect a few hours at least. read more

They've always been flexible with my schedule..even when I call at the last minute. I have 2 fur babies and they always take them at the same time. The reply from meadows pet care to my bad review is just them trying to cover their own animal abuse. My dog was in their care on Monday December 13th, the picture was taken a few hours after I brought her home due to the bleeding from blunt force from the groomers. I will upload the date the picture was taken. The groomers said she was putting rubbing alcohol on the wound to stop the bleeding, she never asked me if she could soak an open wound she caused my dog causing my dog more pain then good. My vet said there's absolutely no way she could reach this area on her leg, only one puncture wound absolutely no teeth marks and the puncture wound she came home with was deeper then her longest tooth. I was shocked to see all the similar bad reviews on this business along with a handful of people who reached out to me and said their dog was also abused in their care. I only write bad reviews because the public deserves to know to beware of places that SHOULD NOT BE in business!! I was hung up on by the owner only because I asked to watch the footage they had to see what happened to my poor puppy. The person who replied to my review was not their December 13th when my dog was injured in their care. read more

The biggest problem for me is I have a cute little mutt that mats very easily. In the past the groomers always just shave her down to nothing. When I take my little pup I know he will be a bit difficult, but Meadows Pet Care has been so patient and lovingly handling him that I know I have found the right place.
