We love this place, expecially in the summer with the out door seating. We eat here often and everything I have ordered up to this point has been fantastic. I generally go for the half pound burger. But my favorite thing is the rotating beer selection for a good price. read more

El fresco dining option was pleasant but wait staff not so much. Seating was inappropriate for dining. Southwest salad was abundant with greens and skimpy on toppings. It lacked a spicy avacado ranch dressing and only a tasteless unfresh and obviously Gordon Food Sevicecguacamole, mild salsa and sour cream offered on side. We live in Midland and my wife and I went last night to give this bar a second chance. Food was ok, but again service was awful . It took like 42 minutes to finally order something to eat. Just like the first time , the waitress wasn't nice , never smiled, and the manager never came to our table to apologize. However we could tell that they were very friendly with some "regulars" so it seems that they don't like strangers and foreigners , we could notice the bias . Despicable behavior . read more

Six of us just went for lunch and I have never waited so long for food in my life. We got there at 11:40, and there were maybe 3 other people there. The waitress took 10 minutes to come back just for a drink order, and was blunt and rude the entire time. We then waited until about 12:40 for our food, and when she came out she said "I don't normally work Friday's, this is too hectic for me" and popped out stuff down. Three of our party got the salad bar, so it took an hour to make a club sandwich, a salad, and chicken tenders. She then took until after 1 to bring us our check. This was ridiculous, the food was subpar, and I will never be back. read more

This was one of my favorites in Midland, but the quality and service was sub-par on this visit. The waiter was more interested in watching the game, then taking care of his customers. The food was just not as good as usual. I hope this was just an off night. read more

Great food, prices and wait staff. You can't beat the Happy Hour and the great mix of people. The owners are visible and working just as hard as the wait staff. I remembered tonight why I stopped going to Diamond Jim's for dinner. WHY must their cooks cover the food with pepper? I had to request a second order of broccoli because mine was inedible. My husband's order came without his rice pilaf but when we asked the server about it, she just said, "Oh, it looks like they put the rice with YOUR order instead." Guess again, genius. I ordered the "Mushroom Wild Rice Pork Chop" so mine came as ordered. Our server was totally inattentive, never stopping back to ask if our food was okay, if we needed another drink, wanted dessert or anything. Twenty minutes after we had finished eating I finally walked to the back of the bar and asked her for our bill. I don't know if she was just poorly trained or if that is standard service there now. I'm not likely to go back anytime soon to find out. read more

If you want a decent steak at a reasonable price and don't care about the service, this might be your spot, but we won't be returning or recommending it to our friends. We went tonight for our wedding anniversary, because we wanted something more than sandwiches and burgers but didn't want to pay Zinc prices. We both got ribeyes and they were cooked properly and tasted fine, same with the asparagus and (4) red potatoes. The appetizers, jalapeno poppers and mozzarella wedges, we wouldn't order again. My husband thought the happy hour calamari and shrimp were better. The service was pretty shoddy, and fortunately we were just having this dinner in between two events that actually were important to us so we could laugh about it. One of the staff kept singing along to the oldies soundtrack, but in an annoying way, like only popping out the "ohs" every four beats, sharply and loudly. When our dinners arrived we noticed I had two sides and my husband had one, and that's when we remembered he had ordered a salad. So several minutes after our hot food arrived, our server brought his salad. When she stopped to ask how our steaks were, she didn't even look at me. We saw dessert for someone else go past, but we never were asked if we wanted any, just brought our check. But the very best part is that there is no drink menu, you just have to know what you want, and after some thought as we placed our appetizer and entree orders I asked for a mojito. "We can't make that," I was told. Because they don't have ... sugar? Mint? Limes? (My husband's last rum and Coke was limeless, so maybe.) No explanation offered, but our server added, "The one thing you want, we don't have." Was that supposed to be funny or what? She wasn't smiling and it pretty much set the tone for the meal. No suggestion of something close I could get instead, no consulting with the bartender, just SOL. read more
