At the time I made that proposal, I had not yet consulted with an attorney and was not fully aware of my legal rights. My offer was made in good faith in an effort to resolve this dispute. FairClaims did not accept or respond to that proposal at the time, the company ghosted me for over a year. The amount I offered would not even cover the cost of correcting the installation deficiencies & hiring qualified contractors to complete the outstanding work that FairClaims was paid to perform. FairClaims requested mediation, and I responded with a good-faith settlement proposal in the hope of resolving this matter. If Fairclaims Roofing / FCR Services is a honest company, they would want to do right thing, They would agree to a fair and reasonable settlement: 1) refund for work they failed to do and incorrect installation 2) cover all repairs and all outstanding work, however, based on the unreasonable settlement offer I recently received, I do not believe that their request for mediation was made in good faith to resolve this dispute, If this matter proceeds to litigation, when I am successful, I intend to seek all damages and remedies available under applicable law, including attorney's fees, costs, and any other relief authorized by law including RCAT and DTPA claims.

Initially the transaction was superb, and we were really excited to own the beautiful home. We have more rooms within the house that leak due to a poor roofing subcontractor (Fairclaims Roofing) than we have dry rooms that has failed to remedy the situation in visiting the house and repairing it at least 8 times. Each time we paid for the visit to the roofing subcontractor the builder said they used. The owner, Justin, company came out a couple times but was as incompetent in recommending a fix and identifying the problem as the crew was installing the roof. His excuses were blaming it on the design of the house, the builder built this as a model home so the roof was not done with the right quality, and the builder was not willing to pay for the correct materials, etc. Moving forward from that mess we had independent roofing inspectors individually inspect the leaking areas and the entirety of the roof. Well, it comes to find out that our shingles would not even pass a warranty because the roof was not properly installed and the granularization of the shingles showed they were too old and improperly stored prior to installation. PLEASE NOTE: This was two different independent inspectors that noted the EXACT SAME THING.....you need a new roof due to the poor craftsmanship on the roof and how can you warranty something that was never done right in the first place.

They did a rushed, sloppy inspection and refused to look inside for hidden damage. They promised a video and a detailed estimate via email, but it has been a month and they have ghosted my emails. They hold your storm damage photos hostage to pressure you into a contract. Find an honest local contractor instead. Total bait-and-switch scheme! This company advertises a 'Free Estimate' to get their foot in your door. But once they inspect the storm damage, they hold the estimate, photos, and videos hostage. They refuse to send the paperwork via email unless you meet them in person to sign a binding contract. A real free estimate doesn't require a signed contract. They are dishonest, shady, and unprofessional. Avoid them!

The type of insulation used - foam or no foam, which corresponds to the air flow moving both in and out through the home and the selection of proper ventilation choices a consumer has...geesh-not counting the aesthetic appearance ...this is just a fraction of a few factors which have to be taken into consideration. 314 has made me an educated consumer -If you are looking for residential roof repair, I wouldn't hesitate to call 314 Roofing. On completion, the roof did not pass inspection by a licensed TREC (Texas Real Estate Commission) inspector on Agust 17, 2024. Also, during installation, it rained into my home even though the owner was alerted to a coming rain storm. He assured me the roof was completely sealed, but it wasn't and there were no tarps on site to cover the roof. Severel rooms in my home received damage from the water and the insulation in the attic was destroyed. Brian did repairs on September 20, 37 days after original installation, and again on September 20. On September 27, Brian finally went on roof to see for himself the job that we were complaining about. When he came down, he said "It is SO BAD I have to get another crew". He had never sent out an experienced roofing crew, just handymen, and repairs were not done correctly. The roof failed another inspection by licensed inspector on October 30, 2024. More repairs were done in November, and another inspection was done in December. There were still deficiencies. So after 5 months and 3 inspections, my roof is still not acceptable. Brian said my roof was completely sealed when I warned him of approaching rain storm. It was not and there were no tarps on site to cover roof. Said roof vents covered by insurance were replaced, but two independent roofers said they were not replaced, just painted over. Said they are committed to making things right and ensuring that I was completely satisfied with final outcome. Be sure to read both sides of their contract.

Spent approximately 45 minutes on the roof with a couple of his workers. He found some of the flashing wasn't done properly along with galvanized screws that were use instead of stainless-steel rivets and a few other minor things that needed attention. The screws had rusted and stained the roof in the areas they were used. He sent me a comprehensive estimate and scheduled a date and time to begin work. They arrived on time and began work. The weren't able to complete the job that day and also realized the touch up paint to cover the mess the rusted screws left behind wasn't a perfect color match. They returned a couple days later (the delay was due to rainy weather) and completed the job. I highly recommend Nick and his crew.

Roof replacement caused damage…read more Failed to seal the area around my AC ductwork, which caused leaks into my home (Leaks that I didn't have before they started working). When I called them out to fix the leak they came in, took pictures and put the photos in their report showing where they failed to reseal where the duct work went through the roof (roof mounted HVAC), THEN refused to even take ownership for it and charged me to fix their poor workmanship! They were servicing our entire townhome community, this isn't even close to an isolated incident. Other homeowners, whose homes were damaged by their poor-quality work and were promised compensation for the damage their failings caused have been fighting to get them to provide the promised funds. Basically they start ghosting and stop answering the calls of the people they owe.

The demolition and wall framing portions of the project were completed, but the remaining work including tile installation, waterproofing, drywall finishing, trim, and final completion was not. During the project, the contractor was involved in an accident while hauling debris from our job. Based on the circumstances that followed, including his indication that he would be pursuing compensation for lost wages related to the accident, we no longer had confidence that the project would be completed within a reasonable timeframe. As a result, we decided to terminate the contract and hire another contractor to complete the work. We also disagreed about how much of our deposit had been earned. In our opinion, the completed demolition and framing represented substantially less than half of the overall project value, given the significant amount of specialized work remaining. The contractor maintained that he was entitled to retain the full $4,500 deposit. We were unable to resolve the dispute and are pursuing recovery of the disputed funds. Based on our experience, we recommend using milestone-based payments tied to completed work rather than paying substantial deposits in advance. We also recommend having a clear written agreement describing how deposits will be handled if a project cannot be completed.
