I had a frustrating experience with Ernie's RV & Trailer Repair…read more I brought in my Class C RV because I wanted a proper inspection, specifically to have the brake pads checked. Another shop had already told me they couldn't lift the RV, which is exactly why I sought out a place that could handle a full inspection. When I scheduled the appointment, I clearly explained this situation and my expectations. The day after I dropped off the rig, I received a call saying the RV was ready and that nothing was wrong. I was charged about $280. When I arrived to pick it up, I asked for an inspection report or details on what was checked, and it became clear there was confusion. After asking directly what work had been done, I was told they had only performed an oil change. This was extremely frustrating because that was not what I brought the RV in for. I had been very clear that I needed a full inspection due to the previous shop not being able to lift it. They did offer for me to bring the RV back at another time, but when I asked about the cost for the inspection, I was quoted over $450 on top of the $280 I had already paid. This pricing was never discussed when I scheduled the appointment. Overall, my concerns are: -Lack of communication about pricing upfront. They need more transparency on their pricing and other reviews suggest the same -Not paying proper attention to the customer's request -Failing to perform the service that was requested There was no effort to offer a discount or solution to make up for the inconvenience. I wanted to give them a chance despite some pricing concerns posted on prior Yelp reviews, but unfortunately, my experience confirmed those issues. To be fair, the staff were friendly and professional. They are nice folks but, they need to work on some issues. In the future, I will be driving a few extra miles to get better and more competitive service.

I asked Ernie's to repack my RV trailer bearings, check the trailer brakes, and adjust the drop on…read moremy drop hitch. They said bring it in. Only after I brought my trailer in, they said it would be $861. Way more than I expected for about 2.5 hours of labor and $120 in parts but I had already towed my trailer there so I said ok. They said the trailer brake is fine but they did not measure and would not tell me how much brake I had left. The trailer hitch adjustment cost $159 just to loosen and tighten two bolts with an impact wrench while the hitch was still attached to my vehicle. I watched and they never once used a torque wrench or a vice. My chassis was the vice. Uhaul or any shade tree mechanic would have done better service for a fraction of the cost. They quoted me $7700 to fix the caulk and trim. Hard pass after seeing their quality of work and what they charge for basic services.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Campers Choice…read more We dropped our trailer off on June 5 with a clear list of requested work: seal the roof, repair or replace the skylight, caulk the windows, and service the A/C (or replace it if necessary). On the way to the shop, we also had a tire blowout that caused additional damages and insurance getting involved. After having our trailer for nearly three weeks, we received a call saying it was ready. We were told the tires had been replaced, the wheel bearings repacked, the inspection completed, and the skylight repaired. However, before we picked it up, we received another call admitting the skylight had not actually been repaired. When we arrived, we also discovered the A/C had not been serviced and the window caulking had not been done either. My biggest frustration isn't just that the requested work wasn't completed--it's the lack of communication and being told repairs were finished when they were not. After waiting three weeks I expected honest communication and for the work we requested to be completed or, at the very least, to be informed if it couldn't be. We had to call many times for updates and to ensure our trailer would be usable by the 4th of July weekend. After picking up the trailer on June 26th we had requested a manager to call us and were told he would call on the 27th. Today is July 1st and still no call to date. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling frustrated, disappointed, and unable to trust the information I was given. I hope Campers Choice improves its communication and follow-through so other customers don't have a similar experience.

I would strongly avoid this business for service. I had been unable to use my 5th wheel for some…read moretime and took it to them for a general inspection and packing of the wheel bearings. After picking it up we noticed the caps had not been replaced on 2 of the wheels and the internal cover on these was askew. They said we could just push them back on and they sent replacement caps for the outside. I did one short local trip, then on our first road trip about 500 miles after Camper's Choice worked on my rig, I was alerted to a wheel issue by another driver. I pulled over at an off ramp and saw smoke coming from the wheel. I slowly got off the freeway and while backing into the first available safe spot, the wheel came off. Fortunately no one was injured and a mobile mechanic was able to replace the axel. I had him inspect the remaining wheels and one of the those also had to be replaced. He said from what he could tell the work had not been done properly. I contacted them but had no response. I followed up after my trips and learned the company had changed ownership along with liability for the incompetent workmanship. I have been in touch with the previous owners who have not provided a response. I would not trust them with any service work and put the safety of my family in jeopardy again.
