Well, let`s start out, by saying...that my sight was bad as Hell!.....let me share my delima!...i am electronic technician so i work with small to minute electronics Boards along with tiny wires., if i didn't have my glass for that particular instance i am well Sh**t out of luck, and few times Ive been in that situation. lets give my prognosis...i am in my early 50`s from what ive been told regarding the eyes, isnt the best situation with i comes too the eyes. MY Diagnosis of Vision: Farsightedness , along with a Stigma - Which i was informed that my vision is a combination of Farsighted and Nearsightedness...Wow...i m like! how bad is this. My glasses were. Progress non Mulltiline.....my left eye is the eye dominate Eye with a (+2) Right Eye (+ 5) also with a -1.25 Stigma!, with Premature Cataracts...."meaning to early to remove" Before this lasik, i had gone to several, eye clinics for the lasik, i got all kinds of Prices!...even went to the one thats all over the radio!....they were nice, even though i read some not so popular reviews, but they wanted almost 5K. They also didn't inform my of my cataracts..........was like i have to do some research!.....i went to the lasik Center, they also were very nice....very modern office!....the techs were very pleasant, answered all my questions, but i never met with the main Surgeon!....the Finance guy was nice, the wanted 4K and do it right away, that i didn't expect., left the Lasik center, had an evaluation the same day, on Saturday at the Diamond Vision, while waiting in the waiting, Dr Stetson came write out and greeted me, and introduced his self....So let me tell in our society first impressions are important to us....especially when were missing with one of our most precises gifts of life!. All the Techs at Diamond vision were Great, Very Chatty!...communicative, while doing my evaluation Dr stetson came in just to See, what my findings were....i did inform him that i believe have Cataracts, he than took my to another lab to confirm this....and explained that, they are in the early stages, and if i wanted to wait 5 years or more to correct this, that is my option!.......at this point i was comfortable, where i wanted my procedure done!.... doing the scheduling of the procedure was difficult setting up a date, Dr Stetson even agreed to come in on his day off to do my procedure!....im like this doctor is dedicated to his profession! Final Evaluation: was informed that with my Condition due to my Age, that my vision would only be 20/25....as you know i was not thrilled by this!...buy i would have to live with this, if i went ahead with the procedure!.....i told them i was skeptical i will be better, than expected! Dr. A Stein, OD Director of Optometry.......is wonderful to deal with, very friendly and will diffinetly answer all of your Questions. Finally: Surgery that lasted about 10 mins the most!....left eye laser was 22 seconds, right eye 39 seconds. read alot of reviews, i did feel the pressure on my eye balls with the suction, placed on each eye... but i just held my ground, because i knew i didn't want to rely on a pair of $475 glasses anymore! which ive lost 2 times this year!....I know everyone has different ways of handling pain....but 2 hours later the stinging was unbearable!....luckily for me i went to visit my sister, whom happen to have some oxycontin!....20 mins later i was pain free...and floating!.....as bad as my eyes were...that night and into the next day....i was seeing 20/20.....was trying to find the smallest font i could find....believe it or not my +5 in my right eye is better than my left eye....so the doctor told me at post OP amazing results!...and the vision will fluctuate as time goes on, as i write this two days ago after lasik, im on my computer with no glasses. Honestly, this was the greatest decision I have ever made in my life. Not only was my sight flawless as I stepped off the table, but the smooth and seamless transition pre and post op was immaculate. Let's start from the beginning. I contemplated Lasik for quite some time now, but the thought of things going wrong to such an delicate part of my body was nerve wrecking. As most people, I went to the internet and saw that there were some mixed reviews on YELP, which didn't help much. But I knew more research needed to be conducted in order to make such an important decision. I reached out to several colleagues of mines who have had the procedures and they all gave GREAT reviews. Unbeknownst to me, they all went to DIAMOND VISION... Now it was the time to meet with them face to face. A friend of mines made a consultation appointment via the internet. I went it and the staff was courteous, professional and the office environment made you feel comfortable. After preliminary tests, the Rep informed me of my options. He did not recommend the most expensive procedure which told me that he was honest and was not there to just take my money!!! They answered all questions, including those negative reviews I saw on YELP, and Dr. Stetson himself came and spoke with me. I made a verbal commitment to having a procedure done and my fear caused me to go missing for several months. I finally felt I was ready, and they still had my documents ready. They did not harass me with phone calls urging me to get this done nor were they overbearing about trying to get me to do it. Gave deposit, set appointment dates and was ready to go. Days prior to surgery, anxiety caused me to call the office about 10 times with different questions, but staff remained courteous and professional and answered my questions while reassuring me I will be OK. Day of surgery I was pumped up, excited and personally greeted by Dr. Stetson himself as he did with everyone that day. That made me feel comfortable and more at ease. After the 5 min procedure I stood up and my vision was perfect! The next day I was at the GIANTS Game, and the field and players looked CRYSTAL CLEAR from the Suite (Sorry Dr. Stetson I tried to get you a ticket lol..thanks for encouraging me to go) I was given cell phone numbers of doctors and when I had questions they were readily available to answer any inquiries. Even the administrative aspect was handled efficient and effectively regarding any documentation I need. I had iLasik (Intralase with CustomVue) two weeks ago, and I can't recommend Diamond Vision highly enough. Waking up with 20/15 vision the next morning (after 25 years of contact lens use) was a wonderful thing, and so far all is well; I dealt with a bit more inflamation than usual, but it went away after a few days. Dr Stetson is a class act, and the rest of the staff are professional and thorough. The procedure itself lasts about 10 minutes and is the weirdest feeling you will ever experience, although it isn't painful in the least. You'll want the optional sedative which they'll give you a prescription for, and you definitely want someone to come with you on the day of the procedure, because you won't be able to see so well for the rest of the day. I don't really understand some of the 1-star reviews on here: Connie W: the second exam is much more thorough than the initial consultation, and then they go through the entire battery again ,plus a bunch of other tests, on the day of the procedure. I'd bet that they would have found your keratoconus at some point and told you about it. Phil P: I didn't see any computer set up in the office, and needless to say, no line of people waiting to post positive reviews, and I was there on a busy day. And I have had no problems bouncing between the Manhattan and Westport offices for the follow-up appointments. Acustomer i: the Restasis is optional, and two doctors told me not to bother with it. I've never heard of systane or lotomax, but considering that you don't buy any of that stuff from Diamond Vision anyway, I don't see how it's a scam. Just had my procedure done yesterday 10/23/2015. Went in today for my post op check up. Already seeing better than 20/20. Staff is incredibly polite and helpful. Kenneth is an incredibly knowledgeable tech. Helped every step of the way. As well as Virgina the new future tech. Dr Stein is straight to the point and realistic. Unlike other doctors who try to tell you what they think you wanna hear. Doctor Stetson is incredibly cool as well actually takes time to talk to you prior to surgery. I actually meet him the day of the free consultation which was a surprise to me. Doctors don't usually bother unless they are surtain they have a paying patient. That was totally not the case in this office. This is definitely a great investment I have made on my self. With no regrets what so ever. If you're considering getting Lasik done believe me this is the doctor you'll want to see. I had not gotten this done sooner because I thought I was going to be charged an arm and a leg. Specially paying out of pocket. No I'm not being paid for this nor was I persuade into writing a comment on here. Dimond Vision - Midtown, Manhatten I had Intralase LASIK 3 weeks ago and my vision is now better then 20/20. My vision was -4.00 on the right and -4.25 on the left. I've been wearing contacts for approximately 15 years and finally made the decision to move ahead with this procedure. Dr. Stetson performed the surgery. Put simply, he's the best. I had horrible vision my entire life and was stuck in glasses from the age of 6 and uncomfortable contacts from the age of 12. I was unable to see even the alarm clock 18 inches from my bed with out first putting my glasses on. That all changed 4 years ago when I had surgery with Dr. Stetson. The surgery was so quick - I was in and out of the O.R. in a matter of 20 minutes. Immediately after the surgery, I could see the clock across the room and by the next day, I was BETTER than 20/20. All this time later, my vision is still perfect. I made sure to carefully follow the post-op instructions and apply my eye-drops which is an integral part of the whole process. If you're not a good patient and don't "hold up your end of the bargain" by applying your drops or if you rub your eye a lot, you probably won't have good results - something that was carefully explained to me. The staff at Diamond Vision is excellent. Very friendly and professional. I've had a great experience every time I walk in the door. Everyone from the front desk to the consultants, to the optometrists and the surgeon made sure I had what I needed. It's very surprising to see that some people have had a different experience. Let me tell you this i'm not a rich guy but DiamondVision made it work. I was thinking about doing this surgery for years but it was honestly to expensive. I found Diamond Vision a little over 4 years ago they fixed my vision I now see 20/15. But I was looking for a gift for my girlfriend this christmas and for less than the cost of getting her a ring (Guess we will save that for next year) I got her the Gift of vision. She was like 20/10000000 I dont even know she couldn't see the big E on the chart. Guess what two days later and ain't nobody giving her a better gift thats for sure. I took her in around 12:00 for surgery and we were out before 1:30 so wait time wasn't so bad I think around the same for mine. I mean don't get me wrong its a busy place but you would except the best to be busy. But we never felt rushed and she couldn't be any happier. Man I couldn't be any happier and were talking FOUR YEARS Later. If people had a bad experience here honestly I couldn't believe it the staff was great the Dr actually sat down and spoke with us for about 15 minutes before the surgery to answer any questions and thats after already meeting other doctors before hand. I wish I had done this years ago! I had Lasik on both eyes about 3 months ago and I love love love not having to deal with contacts anymore. Dr. Klein was amazing through the whole pre op stage which in my case was over the course of a year since I had worn hard contacts for over 40 years. I never felt she was rushed and she explained everything throughly. The day of surgery was a breeze. Dr. Stetson and his entire staff have this down to an art. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is painless. Presto! I could see immediately. My recovery was uneventful. I had a few weeks of very dry feeling eyes, which is normal and has abated a lot since. I did a lot of shopping and have seen all the Groupon discounts on Lasik. Can I just say LASIK has been the best decision I've ever made in my life so far! I have brought 2 of my 4 kids to Dr Stetson. My son David had his surgery 3 years ago, he is now 26. He wore glasses since he was 7 years old. My daughter Alyssa had her surgery just last year. She was forever losing her glasses. Both of them have 20/20 vision and have never had any problems. My other son Steve will be going to Dr Stetson this summer for his lasik as well. I left the Army Jag program and returned to civilian employment in 2003. I had lasix a few years after and decided to go with Dr. Stetson due to his Air Force medical experience and NYC recommendations. I chose to go with the surgery that involves brushing / scraping and not an incision. While the recovery was longer than if i chose the incision based surgery, I was and still am very happy with Sharpest Vision / Dr. Stetson / Associations. Vision is still 20 20 today and it has been several years. The downside to the brushing type surgery was that I had to use drops for a few months,. The actual surgery only took a few minutes. I was not a good candidate for LASIK but I did for PRK. Surgery was done 27 months ago and I have no regrets! Next day after procedure I had to come back to office to bring my mom. No pain (I didn't take pain killers) no dry eyes, no discomfort at all, I am very glad with the results. I wouldn't do eye surgery if it wasn't for my 2 cousins and my aunt that came here too and had great experience, now planning to bring my son when he turns 18. I had LASIK one week ago with Dr. Stetson. His staff are very helpful and help ease some of the anxiety of having surgery. I had to wait a while for my procedure as Dr. Stetson was late due to another appointment he had across town. I would give 5 stars if I had met Dr. Stetson before the day of surgery and if he was on time. Overall, the procedure went well. I had my one week post-op checkup today and both eyes are now 20/20. I had Lasik done one week ago and could't be happier. Dr Stetson and his staff (Ken and Chris) made everyone including myself feel very relaxed and comfortable before and after surgery.
