I had a DISASTROUS experience at Dennis! I lost two stones in my wedding ring (purchased at Dennis) and brought it in for repair. I got at least 4 different stories, with drastically prices, on what it would take to repair. At one point they LOST my ring, and throughout the 5 months it took to repair, the staff was often rude, dismissive, and/or unresponsive. After paying nearly $2,000, my ring came back STILL MISSING one of the stones they were to replace. I'm livid. My family has purchased all of our jewelry from Dennis for 20 years--wedding and anniversary rings, milestone jewelry gifts, our favorite Xmas presents. No one in my family will EVER step foot in this store again, and I will tell everyone I can about my horrendous experience. It used to be a great store, and it very sad what it's become. read more

When I walked in the lady gave me superb customer service. She was pleasant, kind, genuine, attentive, engaging, sincere, warm, and very polite. However, when I called later, the lady who answered rushed me off the phone, which is boorish, crass, discourteous and unkind. That kind of inconsistency really just ruins the whole experience. I would give Dennis Jewelry 0 stars if Yelp allowed it. Called them today (12-21-20, at 10:40am) regarding repairing a nick on the band of my engagement ring. The man answering the phone was incredibly condescending, rude, and seemed like I was a bother to even be calling. He asked me if I had purchased the ring there, and then said "oh well it doesn't really matter". He had me repeat myself several times because he clearly was not listening to the reason for my call. I got off the phone with him after not getting anywhere, and then my fiancé called about the matter, without letting the same man know he was calling about me. He was greeted with the same horrific attitude. I cannot believe they have someone like this man answering the phone. I took my Rolex in to be cleaned. After a few weeks I get it back. It was running slow. I took it back and again I got it back in a few weeks. Then it was running fast. Make sure you come in your best clothes. If you don't the staff will ignore you. When you do force one to talk to you its brief and they try to get away from you as soon as possible. I had a piece of jewelry repaired here. They claimed they could do it and when I got it back it looked terrible. The owner Mr. Dennis came out and he seemed impartial to talk to me. They should have told me they couldn't do the work properly and I would have gone somewhere else. Which I did once I got it back from Dennis Jewelry and they fixed the damage they did and make it look brand new. I only gave it two stars and not one because there is a woman there I think her name is Donna. She is older and such a nice person. She is their saving grace. I always looked for her when I had to go in there. The last time to pick up my piece she wasn't there & the woman gave me my jewelry & then turned her back on me and walked away. Horrible customer service. I didn't share my distaste for them while I was there. I was pleasant so I don't know why I was treated this way. Oh well they lost a potential customer. read more

We wanted it to be a copy of the ring my fiance proposed with, which was a cheapo $25 thing from Nomadic Notions. Well, he made it, but I can't call it a copy. Went in to get my engagement ring resized. They did an amazing job and it was done quicker than they first estimated (~1.5 days!) everyone was super friendly and I felt that my ring was in good hand. I will say the reason for it being 4/5 stars is that they didn't authenticate my diamond when I received it back... I think if you ask they'll do it but it isn't automatic. The place is really spacious and clean. A little pricier from other places I got quotes at but I just felt like they'd do a good job and I'm glad I was right! read more

Another jeweler had already told me it was impossible, but Dennis Jewelry got really creative and suggested something I would've never thought of, and at a really good price. Six years ago my husband bought me my engagement ring here after going several jewlers including the one you see on TV every night and they were by far the best value, quality and designs. I love my ring! The band had small diamonds on the band and a few years back I lost one and had it replaced. Then I caught my ring in the trash compactor and warped the center stone slightly so my husband took it in. It also lost another small stone on the band. They said they have had some issues with the small stones and they replace it free of charge and fixed my ring within a few days. Our anniversary was yesterday so at dinner my husband presented me with my ring shining and looking better than ever. So kudos to everyone at Dennis Jewelry. Walked in to get high end sport watch battery replaced and was told guy who could do it was not in. I also was told that it would be $75 for them to replace the battery. I went across the street to Radio Shack and had the battery and replacement done for $6.50. Don't really know how they come up with their pricing but it did not make sense. read more

My husband's Rolex watch is a little tight so I brought it in to Dennis Jewelry to add links to it for Father's Day. The sales lady was not very experienced and recommended adding five links. Upon thinking it over I called to say that three links were sufficient, The sales personnel I talked to on the phone, Jason, agreed. When I picked it up they told me I was quoted wrong. They refused to honor their WRITTEN quote and told me that they would be willing to take the links off and I should bring it to a competitor. I would have been happy to do that, but I no longer trusted my watch in their care. They also told me the watch needed additional work.. Why didn't they tell me that before I drove thirty miles?? I also saw two sales personnel hiding in their office as they made the poor sales clerk do their dirty work. Needless to say I wont be purchasing from them again. read more

Last year my husband purchased a 4-ct fancy yellow radiant diamond and had it set at another jewelry story to the tune of $5K, and it turned out horrible. After trying to live with it as it was for some months, my husband convinced me to get it reset. I found a Simon G setting that I liked and only 2 jewelry stores in SA carry the designer. We checked them both, but decided on Dennis Jewelers because they quoted a price over $2,000.00 less for the same setting than the other store. It took some weeks, but when we received the ring back it was presented in a beautiful, lighted, yes lighted, jewelry box that when opened, took.my.breath.away! Very thrilled with the ring now, it.is.stunning! I also had my mother's engagement ring resized to fit my pinky finger, and they did an outstanding job...just beautiful, and I know it was a hard ring to size down that far. The only reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars? Because they never called us to tell us our ring(s) were ready, we had to keep checking with them, and because our sales rep, Bob, did not recognize us as the customers that had been waiting for the 4-ct stunner coming back from Simon G...But those things are minor, and yes, we would go back in a heartbeat! read more

He even take the time to check with the repair dept to see if it could be done then. Just said maybe a few days. Very rude. Went to London Clock and the did both items in less than 5 minutes. I recently got engaged with my girlfriend of 5 years. Prior to the proposal, we visited several jewelry stores such as Americus diamond, jared and kays to find the ring she imagined wearing. Although the experiences were pleasant, we were not able to find the perfect one. My fiancé's mother actually had a great experience with Dennis Jewelry and her engagement ring was bought from their store. They are also family friends with Mr. Dennis. After the first visit, I never went back to the other stores again. Dominica and Mr. Dennis provided excellent service and was able to locate the perfect band, diamond and Bobby crafted the perfect ring. The experience was not stressful, they were willing to work with me based on my budget and they even were willing to compete with the sale prices from larger diamond stores.
