He and the rest of the staff are super helpful and make the whole experience feel special. Even though we are younger, they never made us feel unimportant or ignored. When it came to the ring exploration stage, DJ made sure to walk us through everything that goes into making a diamond ring, giving us all our options and letting us examine everything, big and small. He also made a point to help us make our money go the furthest instead of just trying to upsell like many other places. Additionally, he was always responsive when we had questions or needed any alterations. Then, when it came to buying the ring for the special day, the staff was always great about making it feel like your Super Bowl and making sure everything went off without a hitch. Then, when it came to the post proposal stage, they were ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! They gave my fiancé cleaning supplies, a jewelry tray, and free cleanings for life in the store! We also had a small issue with the bands being a little too small, and they adjusted her rings free of charge, which was a wonderful surprise. They also have a great insurance provider (Zillion) that covers you internationally and is super affordable, which was a nice, thoughtful choice from them. I truly can't say enough good things! This could have been a 5, but unfortunately Stephanie didn't want our business. My husband and I are coming up on our 10 year anniversary and we were upgrading my wedding ring. With everything going on with local business being impacted in these trying times we wanted to find a local, quality, and reputable jeweler to do business with. I found Diamonds Direct based on the high reviews, so we decided to drive from Sarasota to St. Pete to look at the store. We visited the store in December 2021 and met Stephanie. Initially I really liked her and wanted to give her our business. I told her that I was waiting on another local jeweler to show me some design ideas, but one of the wedding sets we saw in DD that was platinum was something I really liked. She wrote down my contact info and details on the ring I selected. She set expectations with me that she would reach out after the holidays. That timeline was fine with me since it was Christmas and I understood how busy she was. Then after Christmas I reached back out to Stephanie (she never called me) to follow up on the setting I liked and wanted details on pricing. She sent me a quote for a completely different ring in white gold and smaller diamonds. I explained I wanted platinum and BIGGER diamonds. She was going to see what she had and get back to me. While waiting I even created a DD account to put rings I liked on my wish list and texted her to tell her I created a wishlist and wanted to come in on the weekend to see rings similar to things I saved. She texted me back looking forward to seeing us. That weekend we drove to the store on a Sunday and they were closed. NOTE: Nowhere in our conversation did she bother to tell me they were closed on Sunday so we basically drove to St. Pete for nothing. I was so disappointed. I really wanted to give this local company our business, but this whole ordeal was a complete turnoff. Oh, my! We stopped in yesterday to their new location in Sundial. They were having an opening celebration complete with champagne, mimosas, and the TV crew interviewing (former) Mayor Rick Baker. The diamonds are exquisite and pricey, but lovely to look at and hold. What I liked best is that they have quite a few nice gift ideas for men ~ this place will see me shortly before next Christmas when I will choose from pens, cufflinks (and other jewelry for men), dresser valets, etc. I think they should do well in their new location, as they are now located in an exciting area (Sundial Shops) that is sure to attract a LOT of downtown residents and visitors to the city. read more

My wife and I went in hoping to get my wedding band and her engagement ring and wedding band resized. I was able to get my wedding band resized and they did a very good job on that which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. They said instead of sizing hers it would be a good idea to get them soldered together since she wears both of them. So we went with that and 2 days later went to pick them up. We checked them out and they looked beautiful at first since they had just cleaned them. A little while after we left she noticed that the rings weren't soldered on straight. She showed it to a few of her friends and they noticed it wasn't straight too. My wife was so upset that she didn't want them to re-solder them because she was afraid of them messing it up again. It was a Saturday so I went back on Monday and asked for them to un-solder them and if we could have our money back for it since they didn't do it correctly. The lady there said probably not since they do the soldering by hand but she would ask and call us back. She also said they weren't charging me for the un-soldering. I would hope not since they were they ones that messed it up in the first place. Later Monday night they left a voicemail and said we couldn't get our money back and would call me when the rings were finished being un-soldered. The next day she called and left a voicemail saying they were ready but we were out of town so I went in the day after to get them. I asked again about getting our money back or at least getting them resized (which is what my wife wanted done in the first place but was pressured into the soldering) but was told no. We looked at all the 5 star reviews of diamonds direct before we went there and hoped that they would do a good job but that wasn't the case. We were hoping to be able to come back someday and buy some of the beautiful jewelry they have but we won't because they couldn't fix their own mess up. read more
