I am convinced that they ruined my watch. I have an old citizen 5510 titanium watch from the 1990's that was a gift from my mother. I was going to give it to the grandson as its a nice durable watch. I went the day before showed them the watch type and they said replacing the battery would be no problem. I had already looked up on how to do it on google and it said that as long as you don't touch the coils it would be fine. I decided to leave it to the professionals. Well I drop it off the next day and they bang open the case, did not use a watch wrench scraping up the titanium back! They then inform me that it does not work once they install the battery, that they don't make the movement anymore and that was that. If they had had a watch wrench on hand and used it to open the thing ($7 on amazon $10 for a nice one), I might be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. As it is I am feeling like I could have done better! read more

To make this short I brought a Seiko GMT diver in it was a mod watch from eBay after 5 years it stopped working I opened it and thought it needed a battery,I bring it to them and they said it needs a new movement $120.00, when I picked up the watch they removed the GMT without any phone call or permission on my side needless to say I am very unhappy I did not know that the GMT movement was removed I paid for the watch repair first and I didn't notice it till I got home I'm seriously thinking of taking them to small claims court for the principal bottom line don't take your watch there there's other places that would have done much more a professional job all it took was a phone call and personally and closing I don't think there was $120 worth of work done on that watch. read more

I went there to get an estimate on a bracket repair the lady wrote me up receipt then she said it would take a minute so I asked her could you have him look at my watch she took it back to him and said he could fix it it would be a minute I could wait. She he finished she got her calculator and said each was $16 and bracelet was $65 a total of $81 I paid the full balance then she gave me my watch and told me to come back for bracelet. Couple days past I go to pick up and the lady said I owed now $85 I said ma'am I paid in full when I was here she said no it's impossible I said please pull your camera back and you'll see she said no I said pull Your receipts for that day you'll see what I paid she said no. She come to find out was the owner Elsy Concalves said if you wanted something for free just ask or something of that nature I said ma'am I don't want anything for free I'm asking you to please pull your cameras it will show you I'm telling you the truth I then pulled out $100 and said ma'am here if it means this much to you here's another $100 then on the receipt the $65 paid was marked over with $85. Well to prove a point law suit for a petit $85 plus will be coming for her to be a owner of a business very rude all the customers there were in awe by her actions and all left based on her actions my suggestion stay away from the other guest were saying she charged one thing and changed the price mind you they didn't tighten my AP Watch screws in the back and 2 fell out and he tried to put some screws that don't fit in the holes "lawsuit" is in works lawyer is on it I dislike dishonest people or shady businesses read more

Seriously - what can one say about a watch place, right? And yet - I went there yesterday afternoon to replace the battery in 3 watches, and see if they could fix the winder which fell off another, and I couldn't be happier with them. (Yes - I might have a watch addiction, but that is a conversation for another day.) It's a small store, but they had 3 men working behind the counter on watch repairs. A man came up to find out what I needed, took my watches back, and had the batteries replaced and back to me within 5 minutes. I have never, ever, had them changed so quickly. They had to keep the damaged watch to see if they could find a winder that fits it - hopefully it will be ready this weekend. I thought their prices were very reasonable (3 watch battery replacements cost what one did at a local jeweler), and this has become my new, go-to watch place. The battery low icon was flashing on my analogue/digital CASIO dive watch. The Watch Doctor told me on the phone they were a certified CASIO repair shop. On the phone they quoted me $10 to replace the battery. At the shop they again told me they were a certified CASIO repair shop. They said it would be $20 to replace the battery. When I got the watch back, the hands didn't move. I brought it back to them. A couple days later they told me it wan't their fault and they couldn't fix it. Not much of a certified CASIO repair shop. At least they refunded the $20 so I can mail the watch to a real certified CASIO repair shop. read more

My Rolex had moisture/water in it, brought it here. Charged almost $700 to fix it. No big deal! Thankfully it's fixed. It happened again. Paid another $700. It happened AGAIN. And yes, I quadruple checked the clasp is shut every time and multiple times being that this keeps happening. Brought it back AGAIN, asking (not accusing) why this keeps happening. The lady got SUPER defensive, wouldn't let me speak, and basically was yelling at me that it wasn't her fault??? Also yelling that this is water, not moisture. Ummmm... moisture IS water, lady! I finally was able to get a word in 10 minutes later and calmly let her know, I was asking, not accusing. I kept trying to interrupt her to let her know I wasn't accusing her, she was putting her finger up at me basically saying, "let me finish." I said, I don't know why you're getting so worked up and so defensive. She apologized. Then wanted to charge me another $450 to fix it, yet again. After that defensive poor customer service, I decided to go somewhere else. Such ashame. read more

After 4 months of having my Fiancé's Mothers Rolex that she wants to wear since her Mom passed away last year, we picked up the watch and it stopped running the same day. I was very hesitant at first to bring my piece to The Watch Doctor. Some of the reviews on Yelp and Google were less than exemplary. I have a 1921 Hamilton Railroad Grade pocket watch that needed some servicing (balance wheel started sticking and the watch started running fast) and really didn't want to send it off somewhere. I had spent the last several months assembling the different components for this watch and really wanted it to be treated well. When I dropped off the watch, Mario told me that he could easily fix the sticking balance wheel as well as clean & oil the watch and it would cost $100.00. This both excited me and worried me as it was a really great price for fixing the balance as well as servicing the watch, but I was also worried because the price sounded too good to be true. Mario told me that it would be around two weeks to complete. One thing to note - make sure you retain your yellow claim ticket as this will facilitate finding your item much more quickly as well as making sure you are picking up the correct item. I called as two weeks went by and was told that my watch was ready. I went in to pick it up and it was running very strong. It was off by about 30+ seconds per day, but that was just because it hadn't been regulated, which I do myself quite often. After taking it home and regulating it and running it for 24hrs, the watch now holds time within 2 seconds +/- per day which is well within "Railroad Guidelines" and is very good for any mechanical watch on the market. The cost was $100.00. I have to say that I was very pleased with work, the pricing and the timeframe from The Watch Doctor. I have another old pocket watch that I will probably take it to them to have it cleaned and serviced (was told $65.00 for a routine service). read more
