I want to be completely transparent and share my honest experience…read more I initially signed up last July, and my first two classes were with an instructor named Jasmine. She was incredibly kind, supportive, and encouraging, which made me feel comfortable as a newcomer. Her teaching style was welcoming, and I genuinely looked forward to attending classes because of the positive environment she created. As I continued attending, I had classes with other instructors. While the classes themselves were still good, my experience was different. I come from a dance background, so I understand the importance of proper body alignment, technique, and corrections to ensure safety and prevent injuries. I appreciate constructive feedback and understand that corrections are necessary. However, at times, the delivery of those corrections felt a bit harsh or aggressive, which left me feeling like I had to walk on eggshells during class. For someone like me who is accustomed to receiving technical feedback, it wasn't a deal breaker. However, I could see how someone without a background in dance, athletics, or structured training environments might find that style discouraging or intimidating. Some instructors are simply more blunt and direct than others, and that teaching style may work well for some students but not for everyone. I would also mention that the studio is very strict about etiquette and expectations, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's something prospective members should be aware of if they've never participated in this type of fitness environment before. Of all the instructors I've taken classes with, Jasmine and Jen Saa have been my favorites and the most memorable. They strike a great balance between providing corrections, maintaining professionalism, and creating an encouraging atmosphere that makes students feel supported rather than criticized. My recommendation would be to start with a drop-in class before committing to a package or membership. This will give you an opportunity to experience the studio culture, teaching styles, and overall environment for yourself. Every instructor is different, and finding the right fit can make a significant difference in your experience. If you're looking for a more welcoming and supportive introduction, Jasmine and Jen Saa would be my personal recommendations. **HEADS UP**- no studio bathrooms, so if you need to use the restroom go before class starts. There is a Starbucks right next door. Hope this helps!
