As a mom of three boys, I was constantly getting teased that my hair looked like a helmet so I really needed help, and fast. I called the salon and Nelly was able to fit me in right away, which I truly appreciated. The salon itself was clean, calm, and welcoming. I showed her my inspiration picture, and instead of just copying it, she thoughtfully suggested something similar but more flattering for my hair type and she managed to keep my length, which was important to me. The result? Amazing. My hair finally looks like me again. The price honestly shocked me..in the best way. I got a fantastic haircut for $30, which is incredibly fair. I paid a little extra to have it styled, and even with tip, it was still under $50. That alone will keep me coming back. Nelly is kind, honest, quick, and incredibly skilled..perfect for busy moms who don't have hours to sit in a salon just for Instagram aesthetics. Bonus: it looks like she's open every day, accepts walk-ins, and she also does boys' haircuts for way more affordable prices than barbers charging outrageous amounts. The stylist, Esmeralda was very nice and explained what she was going to do, she stated she was going to put a level 3 with 20 volume all over. 30 minutes later my hair was way lighter and red. Now I'm not a stylist but it doesn't take a genius to go from light to dark. How does natural hair turn red?? Needless to say I was upset and she decided to tone all over with level 2. The results you ask???.... JET BLACK HAIR I am incredibly disappointed and after speaking with Adela she stated since they toned it 2 times the cannot issue me a refund. $65 that I could have got from a $6 box of dye. I came in for a blowout and deep conditioning treatment and loved the whole experience. The salon is super cute, really clean, and tucked into this adorable little neighborhood near downtown Ontario. Also plenty of street parking which, respectfully, matters lol. Cynthia was SO detailed with my blowdry and I left with the prettiest, bouncy, voluminous curls. But honestly one of my favorite parts was just how easy she is to talk to. It felt less like sitting through a hair appointment and more like hanging out with a friend who just happens to be making your hair look amazing. We've had two appointments with him and every time my son gets out the chair he walks a little taller. That says a lot about the cut when you feel how you look especially with a 6 year old! Lol Kuts and Queens is a clean facility and the vibe is comfortable. I was able to meet with the owners our first day in and I really love the family dynamic and how welcoming they were. Made me feel like I've known them for years first time meeting them. This is definitely the only barbershop we'll be frequenting.
