I have been a cyclist for the past 6 years and have a back injury from years working in emergency services. I found myself in a place where I was unhappy with my health and found it difficult to advance in cycling, specifically endurance and strength. Dr. Irv did a thorough assessment of my fitness and was able to set me up with Latina, who was a perfect match for my needs. Latina somehow knows exactly how far to push me and what I need. When I need to be pushed beyond my limits, she shows me what I am truly capable of; when I need to heal, she puts me back together. She catches me every time I break form and try to cheat an exercise, and although constantly aware of my injuries, she never lets me use them as an excuse. My body ached constantly. I have also been on antidepressants for 11 years and was told I would be on them the rest of my life. I was scared to come off my medication, but also curious to see what happened once I started getting my health on track. It was very gradual, but through the encouragement from my trainer and the class members, I was able to do it! I have been off medication for a year and a half now and have never felt better.
