Diaz Painting repainted my stucco two story "box home" to HOA standards. They did a fine job, worked efficiently and on time for a competitive price. It was great working with Roman. Since I was also getting gutters replaced I was able to work out with him to remove the gutters before painting and the San Diego Rain Gutters folks came back in a couple of days to put the new gutters back on. It was very straightforward for the gutter people to remove that item from their invoice and Roman had it added onto the painting one. I appreciated. Later when I was surprised by an HOA violation notice for some garage fan wires that were loose afterwards, I contacted both the original Solatube installers and Diaz Painting. The Solatube people reattached the wires for free and Roman came back and painted the wires and connectors for a reasonable $50. HOAs can be aggravating so I appreciated the flexibility to get this taken care of in a timely fashion. read more

This was our third time using Diaz. This was sanding and re-staining floors in the formal part of our home, adding LED lighting, and painting (plus installing blinds and a door). He provided a fair and well-defined estimate later that day for both our front and back porch/patio covers. On day 1, Rene and his crew (which consists mostly of family members) arrived promptly in the morning and worked hard all day until 6 (some days until 7). Early in the process of prepping our front porch, it was discovered that much of the wood had rotted from overexposure to water and lack of drying out. What started out as a paint job, turned into a partial patio re-build and restoration. We recently had Diaz Painting repaint our duplex. They did a fabulous job from start to finish!! Along with the building being repainted they also repainted the metal Iron railings. We had some other wood work around doors and a concrete stairway which needed to be reinforced. The contractor who was supposed to complete those items was way behind schedule so we asked Rene if he could include it in their contract. These are the kind of guys you want to give 6 stars. Not only did an above-and-beyond paint job on a horrible garage door, but were respectful of property and cleaned up after themselves every night and power washed the driveway and walkway when they were done. The metal door had grown mysterious big bubbles that popped up in the summer and we had previously had the bubbles scraped off, sanded and the door repainted. But the hot weather this summer generated a whole new crop. Diaz looked over the previous job and anaylzed the problem as too many layers of paint over the years and use of regular primer instead of metal primer. They took days to strip the door down to bare metal--much longer than estimated--using chemical peels intead of sanding and scraping. Then two coats of paint and very careful attention to details and trim. An exceptionally clean job and well kept job site. The door looks brand new and even operates better because the paint in between the panels was removed so there's no more sticking. Very refreshing attitudes, too. Highly recommend. read more

Diaz Painting did a fantastic job painting the eaves and facia of our two story, rebuilding the deck support pillars and deck floor, treating mold and rot, detail spray painting over a 100 feet of solar system conduit, treating rust and painting our metal gate and circular metal stairway, applying deck paint after reinforcing all seams and filling/replacing all problem areas, reinforcing handrails, straightening a pool gate, and painting almost 200 feet of 2x2 railing. I was particular about the steps of our project and they honored each request to include protection of my landscaping. My project started with a full power wash of our Spanish tile roof, gutters cleaned, full 3-coat exterior paint to the entire house, painted 100ft retaining wall, painted black wrought iron balcony rails, pavers and flagstone cleaned and sealed, and granite grip applied to all concrete surfaces. We are very happy with this company and were especially impressed with their prep work and attention to detail. We used Diaz Painting in March 2019 to paint a problem beamed wooden ceiling, located just under an almost flat roof. The ceiling had originally been stained dark with an oil-based stain. Attempts to paint the ceiling always ended up with peeling paint within months. We thought we had sanded and prepped well, but the prep work done by this company put us to shame. The room was entirely sealed off to keep the mess from getting on the walls or into the rest of the house. It's been over two years and the ceiling looks great!
