Have purchased all appliances for 2 kitchens and 2 sets of washer and dryers in the past 5 years. Sales staff were helpful both times. Installation went smoothly. Only issue I have is on a GE cabinet depth refrigerator. It's a side by side in stainless steel (CSCP5UXGXDFSS). After about the third year of having this unit, moisture began leaking down the door handle on the left side which is the same side where the ice and water dispenser is located. Service has looked at it twice but they won't ever call us back on the issue. It looks terrible. Now there is a permanent discoloration in the door. I'd be careful about the usefulness of the extended warranty they tack on to the purchase. The both technicians didn't seem to know what could be done. They promised to talk to their management and then never came up with a solution. read more

The absolute worse costumer service I have ever experienced. First they sell these cheaply made Samsung appliance that break before the 2nd year of use. While charging 60 dollars just to have some ding bat tell me what I already knew. For them to charge 400 dollars to replace the part of a less then 2 year old fridge. Our dishwasher that is only three and a half years old started leaking into the basement. Called DVD and someone came out and stated they had to order a part. After a weeks wait the part came in and the tech came to fix only to tell us that another piece was broken and it would be another week. When the tech returned with the second replacement piece he stated that the dishwasher was fixed, until we ran it. No water connection and my dishwasher ran all night dry firing. Called DVD and was told we would have to wait ANOTHER two days before the tech could come out and fix his mistake. I will never buy from them again. They give you the 5/10 year protection plan because their products break easily and then you are at their mercy to get them fixed. Awful products and even worse customer service. read more

I would leave ZERO stars if I could!! DVDAW was supposed to send me a check to reimburse me for an unavailable part and I even talked with someone yesterday who told me my check should have been sent out as it was an exception since my washing machine broke and the parts were discontinued. After informing them I wouldn't be buying from them again due to the issues I've had. Before I was informed the parts necessary for the repair were unavailable, they had told me they'd have it fixed within the week which turned into a month then 2 parts were in and they told me the other was in transit only to later find out it wasn't even able to be ordered since its now permanently out of stock! One of their employees just called me back today and informed me she never said I would get a check (even after telling me yesterday that I would) and that she listened back on numerous calls with me and it was made clear that I would be getting a credit towards another appliance. I will be filing a report with BBB and attorney general. I bought all of my new home appliances from then about 5 years ago and have had numerous issues with service. They tried to refuse a credit advertised on my WD set saying it was placed on the wrong set which i told them to cancel the appliance order if they wouldn't honor their incorrectly advertised sale (which was a selling point the salesman used to sell it to me to begin with). Finally about 10 weeks later I received the $100 credit. They also tried charging me for a service call within the warranty period saying they couldn't find anything wrong. I disputed it and made them send a tech out again to prove I was having an issue. They sent the same one and he admitted the circuit board had gone out. They say whatever they need to in order to put off serving their clients and they need to be shut down. I feel they scammed me and many others who have had similar experiences with them. Nextdoor had a post from another former DVDAW customer leaving a negative review and over 100 other commenter had a negative experience/review to share as well. I have tried to get my dishwasher fixed for about 6 months now. They've been out here four maybe 5 times throughout this approximately 6 month nightmare. I have been kind and patient until now. They have ordered the wrong part 3 times and now they replaced my seal with the wrong part again. My dishwasher leaks worse now then it did before I called them. Now they are trying to charge me $263.75 for them making my problems worse. Ordered a washer dryer combo .on the morning that they were supposed to deliver it ,they contacted us to tell us that it had damage to it. So they brought it out so that I could see how much damage and whether or not, I was willing to accept it with the damage and a discount. Will the dent was pretty extensive. and a $1500 unit they were willing to give me $50 off. Then it's my problem and if there's any damage that affects the use of this machine I have to use my warranty in order to get it fixed. I refused it! So I went back to the store just to make sure that they understood I wanted cancel the order. at that point they told me that there was going to be a 60% restocking fee and I had to pay a $69 delivery fee. By the time I left, they said that they would drop the 60% restocking fee. Keep in mind all I did was look in the truck and said no ,didn't touch it. It never came off The truck .they told me that they could re-order it for me it would be here sometime in April. This local business should be shut down. Canceled! Sorry the big box store will get the same item free shipping and installation and it'll be there on Saturday. Someone over the phone . Made the decision that this is what I have to live with, my salesman was apologetic, saying he doesn't believe this is right either, but it's corporate policy. I'm happy with my fridge. It was exactly what I wanted at the price I could afford and I'm glad it comes with the 5/10 year protection plan because the fridge has a known defect that the company won't acknowledge that I can get fixed, but he customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I called a week ago on a Monday and they were able to send someone out right away. I was a little shocked they could come so fast. A part had to be ordered so fast forward to today when the part was supposed to be installed. 1. During first visit was told to empty and unplug the fridge, but can leave food in freezer as long as we don't open it so all our food is in a cooler as of 9:00 Sun. night. 2. Supposed to get a call first thing to tell us our call window. No call 3. I call at 11 after I finish my errands (all close as I'll have a 30 min warning) "tech will be there by 1." 4. Call back at 2. "Tech was delayed at other jobs, will be there between 3-3:30." If I could have I would have cancelled the appointment all together. Delivery guy rang it through a cycle, or so I thought. Went to use it Friday 6/18/2021. Would not work. Water still left in machine. Called salesman. He put me through to service. Service guy said that this has happened to other people with this machine due to it sitting for so long due to CoVID. He called it mechanical failure. Said he would order the parts. Didn't have to come out. Diagnosed it over the phone. Said sales would call me on Monday. No phone call. Tuesday I called service. Told them I don't want parts. Want new washer. They told me they would call back. ..... no call. I called Wednesday. Told them I'm tired of no one talking to me. Come get them both and bring mine back. Then they called back. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE...They have left my husband, two small children, and myself without a washimg machine for a MONTH! The guy today told my husband that they are not going to pay after looking into it, because they are considering it neglect. We purchased our washer dryer set a little over 2 years ago, we also paid for Dick Van Dyke for their extended warranty, I guess you would say our front loader washer basically blew up, throwing ball bearings through the drum, I had pcs of the plastic drum in my load of laundry I was currently doing at the time this happened (thankfully I was home to immediately turn it off!) I was in the other room and heard these AWFUL noises and sounded like a jet was flying over my house, then water started pouring out from the back or under the washer all over our remodeled laundry room vinyl flooring, which then led water under the flooring, dripping down into our basement which then causing a mildew smell (mind you our youngest daughter has SEVERE ALLERGIES and is allergic to everything, mold and mildew being one! I was going to let the floor thing go, but....then a week ago when the techs came out to fix what they thought they had all the parts for (took the front off and realized how bad it was and the parts they had were not going to fix it) they let the water hoses just draped in our utility sink, not getting the valves all the way shut off (which we didn't know because it was dripping in the sink and down the drain...until one fell back behind the dryer and had been leaking water for who knows how many days, until my husband went down and found a mess in the basement. Needless to say this is currently our situation we are dealing with, while they sit on our warranty $, and we sit for a month with no washer! They said flooring is not their problem and that's what we have home owners insurance for! read more

Horrible customer service for repairs. Charge more than most but I stuck with them because appliances were purchased there. Came out 3-4 times for the same issue and had me purchase replacement parts that never fixed the problem in two appliances. I got a little busy so I didn't call to report it still wasn't fixed again until after 30 days from the last repair and they refused to stand by their work or parts. Said I'd have to pay again to have them come out. The service desk person was very nice but said there was absolutely nothing they could do and there was no one else I could appeal to. Actually, one star is too high; however, that's the lowest rating available. Our refrigerator needed a new compressor. When the first tech arrived, he was very mannerly and diagnosed the problem. The part took four days to arrive and this time two techs arrived. Interestingly, the older tech warned us at the conclusion of the repair that the compressor might not work if it was jostled in transit. He was right. It certainly didn't work. When we went to the sales department, Lyle dismissed us with a comment that a White French door refrigerator would take months to arrive. We then went to the parts department, located several miles away, and spoke with Angela. She advised me that they would have to "review" the history of our refrigerator before she could approve any help to us. We knew then that our affiliation with Van Dyke was over. We immediately called Sam's Best Brands and spoke with Brad. He was very mannerly and advised that he had three refrigerators that exactly matched our needs. Then, Angela said that they would have to have a tech confirm that our refrigerator was inoperable. She then said that a tech would be out Friday. Nothing happened and, of course, no tech arrived. On the following Monday, the very courteous tech verified that the refrigerator was in fact inoperable. The final insult was a call from Angela who said that the parts and HALF of the labor would be available for a store credit. WOW! We paid $853.55 and this was their offer. I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set from Dick Van Dyke on 5/6/17. Brandon Howlett was my salesman and very helpful. On 5/13/17 the set was delivered. About 4 hours later the washer was making a horrendous sound. I recorded the noise with my phone. I called the service department and was told they couldn't come until Tuesday. We was leaving Tuesday on vacation. I took my recording to DVD in Springfield and played it for the salesman. Two of them said they had never heard a machine make that noise. Unfortunately, the service department was then closed and they could not do anything about it without going through service. On Monday morning, I called customer satisfaction and reported my problem. I talked with Debin and she got the call expedited. By 10:25 Thomas the repairman had arrived. After some time the problem was discovered. Thomas ordered a replacement part and said it could be used until the part arrived. Thanks to the professionalism of the entire staff. Even when I was throwing a hissy fit. read more

We bought 5 appliances 5 years ago - gave the salesman free choice what to put in - He put together FOUR different brands. We paid for or got install and warranty with the deal. DVD cut up counters (with a jigsaw no less) and cut into cabinets attempting to install the gas oven (it just needed the gas line turned - we paid a contractor to discover that! They brought the wrong size fridge, then it took 4 more attempts to install it - On the 2nd they shortened the copper water line and took the copper, broke the water shut off (had to have contractor repair before they could install) and scheduled to come a 3rd time. 3rd tried to charge me for a new flexible line and claimed the shut off was "old". Left when I refused to do so - 4th time they did not tighten and watered down the wall (contractor had to repair) and they only paid for 1/2 of that. 5th install of fridge finally worked. they broke the shut off for the washer, again "old" they encouraged me to a speed queen, and it is junk! Ends up speed queen was sold to a off shoot company, It is a low-rate product now. The lid is rusted after only 5 years (never ever seen this in ANY washer. Feet broke, not covered by warranty so had to pay for this - 2 trips and 2 service calls, plus have to pay for all 4 feet even though only one broke. The dryer light has NEVER worked and the buzzer has NEVER worked. The washer has some kind of grease always on rim - never resolved. The dish washer is installed crooked. And finally, after repeated requests they sent a rep. from Springfield. His answer for all this - There hire braun not brains and that if you read fine print, they attempt to install but, in the end - if they fail it is on you, they also broke the shut off for the dishwasher (guess why? again, "old"). Now about service calls - for stuff under that warranty. Prepare to wait (up to 3 weeks) until they are in your area - and then in my case they evaluate and if part not on truck - waited another week for return. AND if it is not a covered problem - prepare to pay. So basically, if you want junky appliances, a loser installs, Rinky dink warranty, no accountability for the product or the people they send, long waits on repairs chose DVD - If you need proof, I would be more than happy to show you my kitchen that I had a contractor reinstall everything! I was always unhappy, and they do not care - they never did. read more

Please go somewhere else!!! We bought cooktop, double oven, fridge and dishwasher. They were delivered with a piece of paper taped over the fridge door. We had to buy all our appliances before we our cabinets were built so they would have correct measurements, when we had the appliances installed and removed the paper off the fridge it was hiding a very large dent. We immediately called Dick Van Dyke and was told they were not responsible because the appliances were in a construction zone. The appliances were delivered to our garage and that's where they sat until the kitchen was finished and ready for the appliances. I was advised it would cost me another $60.00 service charge. I again explained that he was already coming and would be standing right next to the washer. They wouldn't budge. Our washing machine needed a part (covered under warranty) and it took two weeks (or more) to get it repaired. Coincidentally, our dishwasher needed a new part ahead of the Easter weekend. We were told today (Monday) that we were contacted on Friday, but no call was received on our home or mobile phones. They are unable to come until tomorrow. Families are busy and we rely on our high-quality machines to run efficiently to keep our lives running smoothly. We had chosen DVDAW because we believed they supported this philosophy. We purchased a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and hood. They were delivered on November 18, 2016. The day they arrived, it was noticed by the installation people that there was a ding on the door of the fridge and a scratch on the front of the dishwasher. The dishwasher door was replaced. However, it is now March 7, 2017 and I still have a ding on my fridge. Here is what I have been told. 1) The doors are backordered. 2) The door arrived but did not pass DVD Quality Inspection, so had to be sent back and a new door ordered. 3) The door on backorder again. 4) Door arrived and was delivered. The installation person took it out of the plastic and there was a worse scratch on it than the ding we have. He said, well you don't want this one. 5) Door ordered again, but 1 week after--no sense of urgency or customer service. 6) Door backordered again. Family noticed it at Thanksgiving--then at Christmas and I'm pretty sure now at Easter. Our salesman was quite nice, however, the customer service they brag about is non-existent. We needed a new washer and dryer as well--but after this fiasco, we have them being delivered tomorrow from someone else. I tried to give the local folks my business, but I would encourage you to go elsewhere. I ordered the EXACT SAME washer and dryer from Costco with 7 years warranty (DVD has 10 years) for about $400 less. We had a service call for our dishwasher. The technician allowed water to get under our laminate flooring and cause damage. Dick Van Dyke admits the technician left the 1st service call while there was water still leaking and by the time he came for the 2nd call with the replacement part the pan had overflowed thereby causing leakage and damaging our flooring. They told us to use our homeowner's insurance. I would suggest not having them do a service call or if you call them you should video the entire experience. read more

This review could change, if I ever receive the product I bought. I bought a dishwasher on Jan 1st during their Big Sale. We were told it couldn't be delivered until Jan. 14. Very disappointed but I understand they sold a lot. I called a week before to find out what 4 hour period it would be delivered. Knowing this would help me schedule my day and appointments for work. They said they would call me the day of the delivery at 9am and let me know what 4 hour period they would arrive. Very disappointed because again, it's not good for business to clear my schedule for the entire day. Day of the move I got a call at 8am saying they would deliver the dishwasher between 9am and noon. Great! I'm ready! At 9am, I get a call from DVDAW saying they can deliver my dishwasher but can't hook it up because there are parts missing. It will be a few more days. So I guess I will be clearing my schedule again for some 4 hour period that they can't determine in the foreseeable future. Dick Van Dyke Appliance World; WOW! UPDATED: all dishwashers aren't standard size even though sales person said they were. After 2nd attempt at delivery, it didn't fit and we would have to have a plug in for it. I'm not an expert at appliances so I'd hope the sales people would educate during the sales process. So after 3 weeks, no dishwasher. Hopefully the reimbursement process will be smoother. We are shopping again for dishwashers and I will NOT consider DVDAW an option. read more

The current owners of this company have no regard for their customers. What had been a very good brand in the Springfield area has been totally destroyed due to mismanagement. We purchased all of our appliances from DVD for the past 30 years. After several episodes of poor service, where we gave them every benefit of the doubt, sadly we will no longer deal with them. There is no way to schedule a serviceman to come to your house at a specified time. The people on the phone don't have the authority to tell a serviceman where to go. There is an obvious lack of management of this function. We have experienced wrong diagnosis of problems, wrong or nonexistent ordering of parts, lack of follow-up, and total non-communication from their people. Speaking of communication, they keep bankers hours - 8 to 5. Anything outside of that will get you a know-nothing answering service. Even if you get through to them, they don't have the ability to provide answers to the simplest questions. If you ask to speak to a manager -- good luck. After dealing with them on several occasions, I don't believe they have any management they gives a damn. This company is to be avoided at all costs. read more

Very disappointed in a company that claims to pride themselves on customer service. We ordered two pedestals for our washer and dryer. When the installers showed up 30 minutes late for the 4 hour appointment window, they only had one. They left dirty footprints throughout the house and left hand prints on the walls. The technician climbed on top of my washer belly first to retrieve a lighter he dropped and scratched the washer with his belt and keys. Unprofessional, unprepared. Unwilling to make it right by waiving installation fee for our inconvenience of having to wait around half a day, and then do it again to finish the install. Will never use them again. read more

As expected, when a washer 'dies' we want a replacement as soon as possible. The salesperson, Angie, was extremely knowledgeable and patient, as well as courteous. We selected a washer and it could have been delivered the next day if I had been available to meet them! Chris delivered and set up the washer in a few days. He was fast, knowledgeable and courteous. I am glad that I went to Dick VanDyke to purchase my new washer. read more
