The entire staff strives to treat families with dignity and respect, always trying to go above and beyond to reach excellence for the families they serve. They are true funeral professional. They have gone to peoples homes on occasion to make arrangements due to personal family issues, transportation, and mobility. They have gone to peoples homes to pick up clothing for their loved ones, paperwork and to deliver cremated remains. When people leave bad reviews, they usually leave out their part, and how it has complicated the situation. That could be anything from incorrect information given to the mortuary and not keeping scheduled appointments. When families do not following instructions of what will be needed to complete the arrangement correctly it can cause delays. Even physicians at times do not complete their part of the death certificate correctly or in a timely manner, which will then cause it to be rejected by the health department of that county until corrections are made. When required paperwork is correct it can be filed with the county. Every burial, cremation, shipping out of state all require a permit in the state of California. Mortuaries have no control other than submitting it for review to then be filed by the county. They have no say on how quickly it gets done. Hemphill mortuary has a beautiful homelike ambiance. Caskets are displayed tastefully, urns and keepsakes are displayed in glass cabinets and on tables elegantly. This gives families different choices to make decisions of what fits their needs best. The area to make arrangements is clean, smells pleasant and gives the feeling of a home setting. Staff does not sit behind a desk to make arrangements, they sit at the table with the family to insure that everyone is very comfortable which then allows them to feel relaxed and welcome at a difficult time in their lives.

But from the very first conversation consult with InGold, they have been nothing short of amazing. I worked with a representative named Melonie, who was so pleasant from beginning to end. They were professional, accommodating, patient and you could feel their calmness in the middle of our heartbreak. They treated my brother's body with such dignity and care. From planning with Melissa to updates from Andrew, we were given a very thorough and pleasant experience. We were inexperienced and recently experienced a very tragic loss, but Ingold was clear and transparent in their process and provided a lot of clarity for us. In preparation, we selected and requested a video and memorial folders as well as a candle. This required us to prepare the photos in advance and upload into a site, in which, Ingold did the rest and had it fully prepared for our event. As far as transferring our loved one, we were informed when they arrived. We also provided a picture of what we envisioned for our loved one and it was exactly how we wished. On the day of the viewing, we had Salvador and Sabrina, who went above and beyond for us. They respected all of our decisions and were more than welcoming and generous to our guests. We experienced a slight issue with audio because we had a newer iPad, but we immediately found a workaround for the music. If you have a usb-c Apple device, bring a converter so it can be played through their system. We chose an evening viewing and opted for the private time from 5 PM - 6 PM and the viewing to take place until 9 PM. We also had items we wished to be given to guests and Salvador and Sabrina made sure to provide to guests. For the funeral, we chose 10 AM - 1 PM, we had Ana, Salvador, and Christina, who all were very helpful and generous. They checked in with us regularly and ensured everything was going well while providing us the space and time to mourn our loved one. We chose to have the afterpass in the reception area and it fit our 50+ guests, which provided enough time and space to eat and socialize. Overall, it was a very good experience and we are absolutely thankful. As far as price, we felt it was within accordance of the value and received compliments from our guests about the whole experience being very well organized and planned.

This mortuary is honest and sincere. Recently lost my step son. Community Mortuary was recommended to us through our local church. They were fairly quick with extracting his body. The mortuary was closed when we called and they have a very efficient answering service. The answering service and the contracted transportation team were professional. We received a call the following day from Deborah. She let us know there was no rush to meet with her due to our grief, but that she was already on top of the case. Deborah communicated with the doctor's office. The doctor's office told me that the mortuary did not fax the paperwork for cause of death. Deborah quickly informed me that she had two fax confirmations and then miraculously the doctor's office found the request. Thank goodness Deborah was efficient and organized. She documented everything very well and was very punctual. Deborah is well spoken, but down to earth. This career must be challenging and I could not see a better person doing this job. Deborah listened to our request reference holding off on embalming. When we met in person with her, she was punctual and had conference room ready to go. I watched her disinfect the table before we sat down. She was very patience during the in-person meeting and helpful with special request. She did not rush us during our time of grief. Most importantly, I felt their prices were very fair. Deborah did not try to push any unneeded services or try to upsell us. Due to the pandemic, I have heard several horror stories. Community Mortuary prices were well below what any of our acquaintances paid for services for their loss of loved ones. Living in Redlands, I was hesitant to use a mortuary in San Bernardino. I was shocked at the VIP feeling of service received. Customer Service was excellent.
