I especially appreciated how surprisingly responsive she was and that she was always so willing and eager to offer guidance or answer any of the many questions I had. We had to go into the funeral home on a few occasions and it was surprising for me to see that they were also serving other families at the same time- because the level of care they provide makes you feel like you are their only customer. On the day of our service, their entire team was very professional, warm, comforting, knowledgeable and eager to accommodate in any way possible and I am so grateful to all of them. It is clear that Laura- and the entire Richardson Peterson team, genuinely care about the families they serve and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Choose them to help you honor your loved one. My wife and I came here after losing our pregnancy at 13 weeks. We were devastated. The hospital explained that having the remains cremated and returned to us required arrangements through a funeral home. We wanted to bring our loss home and begin moving forward. Grief, it turns out, involves a surprising amount of administration. Forms. Phone calls. Authorizations. Prices. Appointments. And, in our case, an apparently reserved chair. I found Richardson Peterson because they advertised 24/7 availability. I called the evening of July 23 and discovered that "available 24/7" meant reaching a third-party call handler, who took my information and connected me with Laura Galicia. We made an appointment for the following day. Even arriving was confusing: multiple doors, a locked entrance, a doorbell, and no clear indication of what a grieving family standing outside is supposed to do. This would be a petty complaint about a dry cleaner. A funeral home is different. Eventually we were let inside and seated at a small round table with four chairs. I sat down and was told I needed to move. It was "Laura's seat." At a round table. With four chairs. Laura herself was not occupying Laura's Seat because Laura was late. She would be late again. When Laura arrived, we went through the arrangements before she returned with our quote: $900. My wife and I looked at each other. We had researched what this might cost, and $900 was considerably more than expected. We explained that this was our first quote and we needed to compare prices. Laura told us she would hate for us to have to drive around getting quotes during such a trying time. Then $900 became $500. Same cremation. Same remains. Same funeral home. Same round table. The only material fact that had changed was that we said we might leave. Four hundred dollars disappeared. A 44% reduction. There may be some perfectly ordinary explanation for how a service presented to two grieving parents as costing $900 can, within the same conversation, cost $500 once they mention comparison shopping. Nobody provided that explanation to us. During the same meeting, Laura mentioned two nonprofits that might help and promised to follow up. She didn't. I called for an update, then had to call again. On the second call, Laura started giving me information we'd already discussed about the first nonprofit, and I had to remind her that we were waiting on the second. Eventually we learned neither could help. This became the operating procedure: if we wanted information, we had to obtain it ourselves. Between August 6 and August 18 alone, I placed five calls seeking updates. Three emails went unanswered, including one sent by Jerry, another employee, trying to help us get an answer. I even started calling Kaiser because surely some hospital bureaucracy must explain why we knew so little. It didn't. On August 14, I called Richardson Peterson again and reached Laura. I asked for an update. During the conversation she informed me, almost in passing, to the effect of: Oh, yes, we have the remains. We can send them for cremation early next week. This required a moment to process. They had the remains. Richardson Peterson knew they had them. We did not know they had them. Nobody had called. Nobody had emailed. After all the attempts to get an update, the only reason I learned that the funeral home had received the remains from our pregnancy loss was because, once again, I called them. We made an appointment for August 15 to make payment so the process could continue. We arrived. Laura did not. She wasn't even on the premises. This was our second scheduled appointment with Laura and the second time our appointment apparently occupied a more theoretical place on her schedule than on ours. Thankfully, Jerry was there. He took our payment and eventually became our point person. To be fair, Jerry actually tried to help. He emailed on our behalf, stepped in when Laura wasn't there, and on August 28, he was finally the person who called to say the cremated remains were ready. We brought them home the following day. There are businesses where disorganization is irritating. There are businesses where questionable pricing leaves a bad taste in your mouth. A funeral home does not have the luxury of behaving like an ordinary badly run business. My wife just wanted to grieve, bring our loss home, and move forward. Instead, we had to manage the funeral home while trying to manage our grief. This experience made an already devastating situation unnecessarily harder. I would not trust Richardson Peterson/Deco Familia with something this important again.

From planning with Melissa to updates from Andrew, we were given a very thorough and pleasant experience. We were inexperienced and recently experienced a very tragic loss, but Ingold was clear and transparent in their process and provided a lot of clarity for us. In preparation, we selected and requested a video and memorial folders as well as a candle. This required us to prepare the photos in advance and upload into a site, in which, Ingold did the rest and had it fully prepared for our event. As far as transferring our loved one, we were informed when they arrived. We also provided a picture of what we envisioned for our loved one and it was exactly how we wished. On the day of the viewing, we had Salvador and Sabrina, who went above and beyond for us. They respected all of our decisions and were more than welcoming and generous to our guests. We experienced a slight issue with audio because we had a newer iPad, but we immediately found a workaround for the music. If you have a usb-c Apple device, bring a converter so it can be played through their system. We chose an evening viewing and opted for the private time from 5 PM - 6 PM and the viewing to take place until 9 PM. We also had items we wished to be given to guests and Salvador and Sabrina made sure to provide to guests. For the funeral, we chose 10 AM - 1 PM, we had Ana, Salvador, and Christina, who all were very helpful and generous. They checked in with us regularly and ensured everything was going well while providing us the space and time to mourn our loved one. We chose to have the afterpass in the reception area and it fit our 50+ guests, which provided enough time and space to eat and socialize. Overall, it was a very good experience and we are absolutely thankful. As far as price, we felt it was within accordance of the value and received compliments from our guests about the whole experience being very well organized and planned.

This place has been absolutely awful to deal with, and what was already the hardest time of my life was made even more stressful because of them. I unexpectedly lost my partner after more than 30 years of marriage. There was incorrect information put on the death certificate, and trying to get it corrected was a nightmare. The Inland Memorial Upland location is nearly impossible to get a hold of. I called over and over with no answer and rarely heard back. I eventually had to start calling their other locations just to find someone who would help me. My partner's remains were ready to be picked up and nobody called me. I was the one who had to call and find out they were ready. When I asked why no one had notified me, I was told they were busy. Then the death certificate arrived, which was supposed to be the corrected one, and the same thing happened. Nobody called. I called them and was told, "Oh yeah, we have it here." When I asked why I wasn't notified, once again I was told they were busy. To make matters worse, the certificate STILL wasn't correct. I finally went back to the Upland location in person and spoke with Cesia, who I had already spoken with more than once about this. I explained that I was still dealing with the same issue after everything I had already gone through trying to get it corrected. Her response was, "You have to understand people make mistakes. I'm busy." Of course people make mistakes, but "we're busy" seems to be the excuse for everything at this location. I shouldn't have to chase down a funeral home to find out my partner's remains are ready, find out a death certificate has arrived, or get their mistakes corrected. Every interaction I've had with Cesia has been unpleasant. She is rude, dry and dismissive. When you ask questions, she sounds annoyed and like she doesn't want to be bothered. After reading other reviews and seeing other people mention Cesia by name and describe similar experiences, it's clear I'm not the only person who has experienced this type of treatment. I do want to make it clear that my experience was not the same with everyone at Inland Memorial. Kelly, who works at a different location, was amazing. Out of all the locations I called, she seemed to be the only person I could consistently get a hold of. She never gave me an attitude and was genuinely willing to help. Julie, the supervisor, was also great. She contacted me to resolve the issue before I even had the chance to call her, and she personally delivered the corrected death certificate to my home. I truly appreciated both Julie and Kelly because they showed me the communication and compassion that I should have received from the beginning. My problem is specifically with the Inland Memorial Upland location and the way things were handled there. They are impossible to get a hold of, they don't communicate, and I constantly felt like I had to chase them for information. I am already trying to figure out how to move forward after unexpectedly losing the person I was married to for more than 30 years. The last thing I should have had to do was spend this time chasing down a funeral home.
