Came in around dinner time and they were steady but not busy. When I got there i was not greeted and it took about 10 minutes to even get a glance over at me. Food came out pretty quick, which is the only good thing about it. Pulled pork was dry, bread was almost fully untoasted. I was given a small drink in a generic coke cup, which is a disappointing change considering the popularity of the yellow cups. The mac and cheese i ordered never came out and then the gentleman beside me was apologized to and was offered a pie for him wait... he sat down after me. Tables were dirty and the condiment bar had seen better days. The tea was fine, kind of unsweet for sweet tea. All the tables were dirty and the floor had trash strewn all along the restaurant. Its sad to see what used to be a wonderful restaurant turn into a commercialized fast food joint like everwhere else. Nothing tastes homemade or good anymore. Save your 20$ per person and just go to Arby's or something. read more

Dinner was good! Easy to find as you can smell the BBQ miles away... we walked in and was kinda annoyed by how warm it was inside, regardless we were hungry and tried a few things. The brisket was great, so was the pulled pork, the cheese link did not disappoint, but the sides were lacking, the potato salad was bland, the BBQ beans ok but the green beans sucked. My 9yo had a kids meal with pulled pork and mac and cheese and it was awesome, great portion! The butter rolls cold and not worth eating. This is getting 5 stars because the girls working here was absolutely amazing and being a big chain thye have no say over anything. I would go back now knowing what works and what doesn't. TLDR: solid bbq experience We were driving through and saw this place and it was a great pit stop! The ribs were juicy and succulent and full of flavor. The brisket was a little more on the leaner side but still tender and full of flavor. We got the okra and coleslaw which were perfect sides. The okra was fried beautifully and the coleslaw was not too mayoey or bitter. Overall far surpassed my expectations for a quick pit stop. read more

The town is super busy this week/weekend with all the basketball teams here for the state tournament so I thought I'd have to wait a while, but my food only took a few minutes to come out. Some of the best, barbecue and service I've ever received! We stepped into this smoky, great smelling joint yesterday, and it did not disappoint. I thought the baked potato with brisket and coleslaw. My husband also ordered brisket. The people who work there were very attentive and had good customer service even though they were busy. OMG, the brisket!!! Driving to Canada, stopped in Butte for dinner. So glad I did. I got a half pound of brisket, no sauce. It's so tender it practically melts in your mouth, and the flavor is wonderful! The slaw ain't bad, either. If you're traveling through, I highly recommend this. I had never been to a Dickey's before. It wasn't bad. I enjoyed it. We chose to dine in. The only real downside to that was that the Coca-Cola freestyle machine was unavailable due to COVID rules. Lame! We were promptly greeted and had our orders taken quickly. Everything was made to order and fresh. The food was very tasty. I really enjoyed the old western kind of a feel to the inside of the establishment. The staff was friendly for sure. They even refilled our drinks quickly. This location also has a drive thru. I do not know if that is a regular thing for Dickey's or not. But it's a nice option. read more

The ribs were actually good I will say that but the brisket was what I'd imagine eating paper towels with BBQ sauce would taste like. So I asked if they could convert it to a sandwich meal instead which they did. 1. They forgot the sides, no sauces, no condiments just slapped the meat on a bun and nothing else. 2. I stopped at Dickey's yesterday to have lunch. I specifically went at that time because they have run out of ribs in the past by early afternoon. I had eaten there several times right after they opened and had had some quite good barbecue, especially considering Dickey's appears to be a fast food type barbecue restaurant. I had ribs about a month ago and they were excellent. Yesterday, the ribs were kinda dried out, like they had been over cooked or left over from the day before. My sides of cross-cut fries and bbq beans were good, as was the corn meal muffin. The ribs were a major disappointment, and the reason for the two star rating. I really want to see a barbecue restaurant succeed in Butte. I lived in "barbecue country" for many years and really enjoyed good barbecue. Dickey's can do it, but the current quality of the food just won't cut it. Please don't let the restaurant go under! read more

We were driving through Butte and saw the advert for Dickey's. We've come to not expect much from bbq joints in Montana in general. However, Dickey's was quite good! The employees were friendly and served us quickly. The food was tasty, and not dried out at all. Their BBQ sauce was good too. Also, they serve a selection of beers. Woot! Overall, 5 stars. We walked in starving ready to eat. The casher was the cook. He was a very large man with his belly hanging out. Walking up to the counter chewing food wiping his hands on his shirt and stomach, asking what we want. The food prep lady was wiping off the food on her butt and shirt. Very dirty. Not sure why Dickey's is getting such a bad rap on Yelp. We have been there multiple times and every time it's awesome. In the beginning they struggled, but have definitely ironed out their kinks.
