Pulled pork, bbq spareribs, Polish sausage, creamed spinach, and more.
    Richard Y.

This is the best bbq/smoked meat restaurant I've eaten at in years. Pulled pork tender, be not greasy. Awesome pork spareribs with tasty burnt ends. Unusual Polish sausage. Coursely ground for a special texture and spiced to perfection. Creamed spinach was interesting, cheesey and rich. Decent beans and mashed potatoes. Bbq beans could use some work. Not bad, just not up to the same level as the rest of the meal

Nice bbq in downtown Coldwater. Under new management and it keeps getting better and better! Enjoyed my time here!

    Half pound of brisket
    Jessica V.

A bit sick of road trip fast food, I decided to stop here on the way home from my Mil's in Ohio. I was reassured by the presence of 3 state police - generally wherever they eat will be delicious! There was a line, but it moved quickly. There are many options on the menu, and they all seem to range around $10. I didn't want any sides (ate too much chex mix in the car, lol), pop, or desserts, so went with a half pound of brisket. It's a little odd that the meat was wrapped in plastic wrap, instead of soaking in juices. However, the woman helping me was pleasant and very good at slicing and chopping the meat, and weighed it perfectly. It was placed on a piece of food paper and then inside a cardboard carton. The guy next to her kept pushing me to buy cookies, which dropped my review down one star. If I decline once, please don't push. I almost walked out because it was too much pushing. Let's go straight to the meat, then. The brisket was juicy and tender. The half pound box came with 3 small tubs of delicious bbq sauce. I tried it with and without sauce, and each was so good! I had to ask for a bag and to go silverware. The interior is kitschy, with metal barn roof walls. I especially liked seeing the rack of wood, because that is some roasting goodness right there. If you don't want to eat inside, there are a few tables out on the porch. It was a perfect break from my driving, and served as lunch the next day, too.

Free ice cream in a mini cone

When I heard "free ice cream" it made the decision easier for where to go to lunch. Bonus is kids eat for free on Sundays! Lots of meat and sides options. Choose from 1-3 meat plates or a few sandwiches or salads. My order of best tasting: 1) Baked Potato Casserole (loaded mashed potatoes!), 2) Brisket (so tender!), 3) Spicy Cheddar Sausage. Ribs were good and came off the bone easy but nothing to rave about. My husband thought they were fine but I did NOT like the Ham, very dry. Love a place that has sweet tea! Refill your own big yellow cup. Ice cream cones are mini but get as much as you want. Their vanilla soft serve is like ice milk...not creamy...but it's free! Family Friendly Fail: no changing table in the bathroom. Suggestion: Would be great to have some tables outside in that large front shaded entrance. It was very COLD inside with the A/C - bring a jacket!

In a word? DON'T! Unless you enjoy surly staff, small portions, mediocre BBQ oh and of course paying a lot for it...

Ribs were great. Get the sweet sauce. Wife got the brisket and pulled pork. And she was super excited with the free ice cream.

Wife and I came back a couple weeks ago, got a pizza and it was better than their pizzas used to be. Brought friends back today (four of us) and ordered a pizza and four soft drinks. Waitperson (Gracelyn) was personable, pleasant, and pretty efficient (she did forget one side of sauce and handed each drink to us with her fingers over the top of the glass, but... ). Concern came with check, where two of us had refills and were charged for refills, without being told (six drink charges for us at $3/each). We also had a large pizza with two items on all of it and two other items, each on only half. We were charged $2.75 for each item, even those we only got on half. So, our bill for a pizza and four soft drinks, was $48.69. Not wanting to stiff the waitress, we left ten bucks for her. When we questioned the soft drink refills, we were told, that's how i was trained, to ring up refills the same. We paid almost sixty bucks for a pizza and four soft drinks. We don't mind paying for good food and good service, but this was a little disappointing. A coke costs, what, a nickel or dime of syrup? We paid $18 for our drinks (a coke), and $30 for a pizza. Ouch. Based on that cost, we may make a different choice of venue next time.

We went on a night where there was live music- the musician did a great job but it was SO loud in the restaurant that we felt like we were yelling to hear each other. So, honestly, we were expecting more from the food. We got the huge pretzel with 3 dips, it was pretty good... definitely enough for four people to share. My friend ordered the chips and salsa and was a bit disappointed to see that they literally just used salsa from a jar. We ordered the pulled pork mac n' cheese, it was "ok"- but seemed super greasy. We also got the pulled pork sandwich, also "ok". Some of the meat was really dry- the french fries seemed previously frozen. The vibe screamed "Everything is fresh and made in house!" But the food didn't taste that way at all. Not somewhere I'd feel the need to go back to.

I samples three and they each had their own flavor. Now for the appetizer, the GIANT pretzel. It had three sauces and it was delicious. The pretzel was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The pretzel was part of the Comedy tour menu. As we looked around, the regular menu items looked tempting. The hostess and waiter were attentive. We'll go back to try the standard menu items. The Brewery is a win for Coldwater.
