This is Sunday we were just there and I went in to place a carry out order. I sat at the counter. A young man waited on me and I said the half slab and an order of fries. He asked if I wanted to substitute the fries for one of the other sides. I said NO I want the fries in addition to the meal. He charged me 26. And change and when I got home there were no fries. I did not like his attitude either. And no muffins! And when I paid in cash he asked me if I wanted the change! Awful, awful service! And you don't ask customers if they want their change! read more

I've heard good things about this place so I finally made the drive to check it out. The tables and booths are nicely made and the atmosphere was welcoming. The waitress Rachael was fantastic. She was always checking if we needed anything, prompt with refills and just all around made the experience great. I honestly just thought the food was okay. Wasn't super impressed with the queso and chips. The queso tasted like that waxy yellow cheese mixed with coney sauce. The pulled pork sandwich was good and I got the side of mac. The mac n' cheese was okay, similar to any bbq place with that side. Nothing to write home about. I'm not saying I wouldn't stop again, but I would definitely try other menu items. read more

A fantastic BBQ joint in this little town. The atmosphere is spot on. It's clean and the waitstaff are excellent. We had Wednesday Addams for a waitress lol. Actually I think her name was Angel but she looks like Jenna Ortega. She did a great job and I think a couple of the young guys in our crew fell in love. We were in town to do power restoration after the ice storm and finding a good place to eat is always a gamble but Saucy Dog's absolutely will not disappoint. I got the brisket plate which is my go to at any BBQ restaurant. The brisket was perfectly done, tender and had the essential pink smoke line. The beans were great and the coleslaw was excellent. I've eaten brisket all over Texas and Oklahoma where they really know how it's done and this place in Michigan was just as good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we all left completely full. Ok, this place needs to make up its mind whether it's going to be a BBQ place or a Mexican place! I was in town and needed to grab a quick bite for the road. I went in and looked at the menu: they had a BBQ wrap that sounded like something I could eat on the fly. A wrap is supposed to be something you can eat with your HANDS. Not a fork! Mind you, the wrap was generous in size; but there was no sauce on the meat at all. The thing was a giant burrito with maybe two tablespoons of sauce poured over the OUTSIDE of the wrap! No way I could pick it up and eat it without a huge mess! Plus the thing was stuffed with very un-BBQ ingredients like shredded cheese and lettuce! WTF? Again, I didn't order a burrito. I don't know about the rest of the menu. The meat has a decent flavor, but nothing to write home about, as they say. Anyway, I managed a few forkfuls on the way and fed the rest to the deer. Don't order the wrap unless you're sitting down at a table and are craving a Chimichanga instead of BBQ! I won't be rushing back because I question their skills at BBQ. read more

Incredible ribs!! I love the atmosphere of this place. We stopped in for the first time last night and we were not disappointed. They have good sized portions and a friendly staff. My wife and I tried the brisket and the ribs. Both were very good; however, the ribs stole the show! These were some of the best ribs I've ever had. Had not been in for a while but had the opportunity a few days ago to stop by with my family after seeing A Christmas Carol next door at the Saulk Theater. The place was busy and festive with people out with family and friends. We were greeted warmly and took a nice table with a large party going on near us. Everyone was having a grand time. The waitress came over...I believe her name was Angel. She was kind and helpful and exactly the sort of person you would want to have as your server. My wife and son enjoyed their meal, as did I. Found this place passing through town. Small place with a great atmosphere. The service was quick and the meal was quite cheap. We had got 4 hot dogs and chips for under $20, and the food did not disappoint, I highly recommend the Saucy Dog! It has a vinegar coleslaw with a sweet bbq sauce. Very nice local bbq restaurant with a good variety of choices. It is clean and casual and the wait staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait long to order. The food here is excellent, at least the bbq, because that is what I ordered (hehe). I ordered the fried texas brisket. Great food, terrible service. You will honestly need to allocate a solid hour for fried food. We waited in line 15-20 minutes to be seated while five tables were completely open. Once seated our drinks arrived quickly and then we didn't see our waitress for 20 or so minutes...with our drinks being empty. The whole wait staff worked on a 16 top table in the back room (understandable) but then the kitchen and waitresses worked on tables who were seated 10-15 minutes after us, so we were able to watch them eat. I confronted a waitress about what was going on and why tables who were seated after us got their food before us, her response was "well, we don't really use the order that tickets are submitted for the order we work on food orders...our kitchen makes the fastest food and then puts that out first." This must be the only place that does this, in my 30+ years of going to dining establishments no one has ever used this process. If you're going to order take out this is a great place, but skip dining in - the manager really needs to overhaul the dining experience because it sucks. read more

I frequented this establishment regularly with friends or with family from day 1 when it opened in 2006. Not until this Fall 2019 had I visited again because of relocation to another state. It is better than ever! It is also under new ownership and management and I must say are doing an impressive job. You must try the brisket or the pulled pork. Their sides are also very fresh and well prepared. Plenty of good beers on tap. Parking can be a bit difficult if there is a dinner rush, but there is ample parking on the curb. Do yourself a favor and try it out when you are in the Jonesville / Hillsdale area! read more

Just found this gem today! Seriously best food I have had in a while! The staff was awesome, quick but not rushing you out the door. With it being our first time the waitress gave us a quick run down of the menu and showed us customer favorites. The food was delicious, had to laugh the manager "made" us try the sweet sauce along with the spicy sauce we ordered for our BBQ sandwiches. They have a full bar and we ended up having frozen strawberry margaritas with our lunch lol. Highly recommend even if you don't like BBQ they have plenty of other options. read more
