im a recurring customer, I order 3 to 4 times a week. never spending less than $30. th e food I received was absolutely abysmal! all fat on the brisket, heels for my Texas toast, a joke! a v called to speak with a manager and the customer service I received was every bit as bad. Nothing was her fault, the owner says to use the heels of the loaf, so forth n so on. she was also very rude and short. I will not order from there again! read more

Was suprised at how small the pulled pork sandwich was. Just under 3.5" across. Asked for extra pickles and onions. Got two tiny slivers of onion and two pickle slices. Did not realize how tiny sandwich was until getting home. Pulled pork did not have much flavor! read more

My husband and I have eaten here many times or had take out. It was always really good, BUT April, last month, it was horrible. My sliced beef was 90% fat. Pieces of fat, with hardly any meat. No onion strips. It's sad to see a long time, good eatery go down this way. read more

This is the new place in town for BBQ. If you can catch them at the top of their game - you might enjoy it more than I did. But today, they just couldn't do it right. This place shares parking and a building with a fried chicken joint. The parking lot was full, but we did manage to snag a spot right in front. I did notice the drive-thru line was pretty long as well. With this kind of business - we expected good things. The inside was pretty cramped. The order line snaked through a cramped space between tables, and was not comfortable at all. Either for the line watching folks eat their food, or the people eating with us staring in their mouths the entire time they ate. It's finally our turn to order. The guy cutting the meat couldn't keep my aunt's order straight. He asked her to repeat it immediately after she said it. And then he did the same thing to me. If it's one thing I don't like - it's repeating myself when I shouldn't have to. (He even repeated it to me when I said it... Alas.) But, he's a good slicer. He was quick with the knife and carefully weighed everything he served. The next person asked our sides and passed us on down the line. There was some hang up about bacon - and it totally confused them all for a minute or so - and in a busy line with costumers listening to every word, keep that stuff on the down low and keep the customers moving. Seriously. The BBQ was kind of pricey for a small town; but it was on par with what pay in a big city. The price isn't keeping people away. The person on the fryer wasn't watching what she was doing - and was taking things out too soon. I watched her pull onion rings and fried okra out with hardly any color on it. I know she's rushing - but those things matter. (My aunt's fried okra was ok, just lacking a little seasoning and was of course several pieces were still under friend.) I had the brisket (good, if not a little dry) and the spicy cheddar sausage (decent). The spicy bbq sauce was also pretty good. My cousin was not a fan of their sauce in general. But it wasn't terrible. My mac and cheese was pretty bland and generic. It's obviously made in large quantities. The jalepeno beans as well weren't that flavorful. You can get better BBQ in this area. read more

This place is in a great location if you excuse the parking lot that All Seasons and these folks should be ashamed of. Do not drive back behind it and go out on Dennis-- enter and exit on to Main. After church on Sunday, this place was PACKED. There are only like 10 tables, and all of them were full of kids, who eat free on Sunday, and then the line to order weaved through all these people and out the door. I was shocked at the price per pound for meat. They are sly and charge you less per pound if you don't want it sliced... but that's kind of the point. Their sauce was just meh. Goings sauce is better. If you're watching what you eat, beware of the salad. I almost ordered it in an attempt to be healthy, but am glad I didn't, because at 940 calories, that's no health food. The big chopped brisket sandwich is about 540 and enough for a meal, no sides needed. I tasted the fried okra, which was hard and not cooked through. As with most places, the sweet tea, however, was ON POINT. I was surprised when we entered that the Church's and this place don't have a wall between them on the inside. I suppose this allows them to share a bathroom and maybe some kitchen functions, but it felt like being in one of those large gas stations with an adjoined McDonald's/Taco Bell to me. Bottom line: better brisket than Goings, but that's about it. May the best BBQ place win. read more

Growing up eating ONLY barbecue prepared by my PawPaw, I have always refused to order restaurant style because I knew it wouldn't be as good. Then one day when I was starving, a friend brought me lunch from Dickey's. I was hooked... No matter what meat or side you choose, you won't be disappointed. They have a special every day, so I have eaten everything they have and love it all. My favorite "go to" is the pulled pork, which comes with one roll, but I get two extra. They have different sauces, so I grab some extra mild sauce on my way out. My secret is cutting the roll in half, load it with pulled pork, drown it in sauce, and eat it like a slider. I make my three sliders and have extra left over! The ribs fall off the bone, the beef melts in your mouth, and the sides... do NOT skip the baked potato casserole! But again, they are ALL so good. They also do large combination orders and catering! If you check their website, you'll see their current combination specials. They cater for holidays, too! You can dine in or take out. They have an app to order online and a system for bringing your cup back in each time for drinks. I often see groups who work together dining in. Someone commented lately about how many paper Dickey's bags I have. My response? Apparently they're just that good! read more

If you are looking for good bbq you won't find it here. Don't bother asking for bbq chicken. It is smoked chicken breast only. I've never seen a bbq store that did not offer a 1/4 or 1/2 bbq chicken. Portions are small for the price. I would call it fast food bbq. read more

Tried Dickey's for the first time yesterday. Ordered pork and brisket a la carte and both were very good - flavorful and tender - but consensus favored pork overall. Dickey's BBQ and Tony's BBQ in Beaumont are the same concept. Order your meat at the cutting block, move down, order sides, move down, get your food and drink then pay. The people who slice the meat at Dickeys move rather slow, as if they haven't slept for a year, and you have to repeat yourself several times to get them to remember what you want. I would much rather write it down and stick it to their forehead. The slicer at Tony's reminds me of a hibachi chef from Tokyo. He has your plate made in under ten seconds, knows exactly what he's doing and is very precise. The person taking your order for sides at Dickeys acts like she's got something better to do the whole time, constantly checking her phone in between orders. Same at Tony's The larger colored lady working the register was rude and acted as if I owed her something or as if she has a personal vendetta with me to settle. The manager who looks and sounds middle eastern can be found running around frantically yelling orders at workers that were already doing what they were supposed to. Bro? Chill out. Your store isn't going to be shut down if he waits 30 more seconds to finish my order instead of taking the trash out. The food on the other hand is phenomenal and I have no complaints. Sometimes the person cutting the meat might give me too much fat on a pulled pork sandwich but other than that, bravo! The pulled pork is juicy and flavorful. The brisket is usually really good but can be dry sometimes. All of the sausages are spicy, even the one that isn't labeled as spicy. I've tried most of the sides, the fried items are good depending on who seasons it. If it's the manager, don't look forward to seasoned fries because he's stingy with the seasoning. The rude colored lady does, in fact, season them up to par though. Last time I was there I noticed that a young man that washes the dishes in the back was actually up front taking orders while the girl who usually does it was on her phone in the back. I'm glad he stepped up because the register girl also wasn't there so he helped me pay so I could get on my way, I was late anyways! So yes Dickeys has great food. No they don't have great service unless you also happen to stumble upon a worker that cared. Which, from what I see, is very rare in the establishment. I recommend trying it at least once. read more

One of the best bbque spots we have found since my daughter moved to Texas. Tried the pulled pork, beef brisket and the chicken and all were great. Also loved the soft bread, fried orkra and the waffle fries were seasoned just right. Oh and the mac and cheese is amazing. Only thing we weren't real fans of was the potato salad.
