My family and I stopped in to grab some BBQ for a quick lunch. I haven't been here in a while, not because it's bad but more so we will cook bbq at home. We shared the 4 meat plate and got chicken, turkey, brisket, and sausage with okra and green beans. We also got potato salad and Mac and cheese as extra sides. The food was excellent! Brisket tender, turkey was the best, and the sausage was great! The chicken was a little dry on some pieces but overall okay. The service, food is served cafeteria style, except for the special today, which was brought to my table in a timely fashion. The food: What can I say, great chicken fried steak, great mashed potatoes with gravy. The green beans? Nothing I have ever tasted was like them, if my tastebuds are correct, along with the standard bacon, onion, and pepper I believe they added just enough garlic to take the flavor over the top for me! Best bbq turkey in the area, perhaps best I've ever had anywhere. I thought maybe I was biased because it's the local and in my routine, but family from out of town all comment that this bbq turkey is extra special. We've done catering a d they were on it! This place only gets stars for being the only BBQ joint in Lumberton. The brisket is okay and the sauce is edible, but the sides are terrible. I love some corn pudding, but it was more like canned corn with some tomatoes in it? Weird. It was also pretty darn expensive. I paid over $12.00 for brisket and two sides and a drink. But perhaps I got well over a half pound or more of brisket, so if you're someone who can eat that much, it might be a good deal. I prefer places where you can order your meat by the pound so I can control my portion and my price. I like the wood-burned booths in here, very perfect Texas BBQ theme, and the place is pretty large with two dining rooms, though I've never seen enough cars in the parking lot to warrant that kind of space. read more

I chose the baked beans (from a can? really not good) and the corn casserole (not much flavor, tasted very processed). No mashed potatoes or macaroni? The potato salad and other items just looked terrible. The tables were all kind of wobbly, just a tiny bit sticky. The guys behind the counter were FARRRR from helpful. Goings has the best BBQ in Lumberton. Great Service, Friendly staff, and Daily Deals. Try the pulled pork sandwich, or any of their brisket plates. I have never been disappointed after a meal at Goings. However in contrast to Brittany M's statement there are other BBQ places in Lumberton such as Dickey's BBQ pit which deserves one star in comparison to Goings BBQ. read more

Really good food. The potato salad was reminiscent of cold 'baked potato salad.'. Which I love by the way. I ordered a chopped beef po-boy. Man was it huge! This is my husband and I's go-to steak place in the area. Friday nights are buy 1 steak, get 1 half off. We think the steaks are AMAZING! You have to try Goings hamburgers! If you are a fan of charbroiled burgers, then you will love these babies! They offer a small and large size burger, if your not so hungry try the small, but if your starving the large will definitely fit the bill. You might want to also try the steak on a bun, which incidentally is on sale every Tuesday afternoon. The burgers as well as the steak on a bun, comes with fries.
