Have twice gotten brisket & ribs to go from Dickey's in Washington PA. Owner is amazing -- remembered me from visit a year before! Even offered her Sam's Club card for me to get gas at Sam's next door. BBQ "for six" to go + 1 rack of ribs fed 3 guys on a guy trip for 3 dinners, with leftovers. Delicious each time. Is this place owned by Moe's? You're greeted with a "Welcome to Dickies!" as you enter, the menu offers a variety of BBQ fare along with sides and desserts. Available for eat in or take out. I would consider this fast casual, similar to Panera, Chipotle, etc. I had the beef brisket and a side of green beans. Both were served hot and fresh. The meat was seasoned perfectly, and very moist. Taste was fantastic. Green beans had a nice flavor as well, although they were a little over cooked for me. Choice of three sauces, sweet, spicy and original. I had the original and spicy. Both excellent. Desserts look fresh as well, although I didn't have any. Staff is very friendly. Great for lunch or dinner. Definitely will return to try something else. read more

My family and I were traveling home to Indiana from Washington DC. We got off on this exit and decided on Sam's Club to grab lunch, but then saw this place and decided we'd rather try what we thought was a local place (we later learned it was a national chain, but oh well). The restaurant was very clean. We were the only ones there when we came in. We were greeted and our order was taken promptly. It is somewhat average, in my experience, for a quality BBQ joint. A sandwich plate w/ two sides came to $10-11. Service was very quick. It took maybe 5 minutes after paying to receive our food. They have a Coke Freestyle machine for drinks. If you get a kid's meal they don't have any additional drink options (like milk). My wife and I both got a pulled pork sandwich and barbecue beans. She also got green beans and I got the mac 'n' cheese. They have 3 BBQ sauce options: original, sweet, and spicy. Everything was delicious. The sandwich was very meaty and I didn't have any issues with gristle or excess fat. I really liked the sweet sauce. All the sides were very tasty as well. We got the Polish sausage for my 2.5 y/o son as well as green beans and he ate them up. The green beans aren't the most kid friendly because they were somewhat heavy on the pepper. He also loved what he got of our beans. The main knock against this place is that they didn't have diaper changing stations in either bathroom. Other than that I was excited to learn that there are a few locations fairly close to us here in Indy and I liked it better than any BBQ I've had here. I look forward to checking ours out soon. Really good food! Just stopped here on a whim to try it out and was really impressed. Service is a walk up and order! Decor is fun! We tried a little of everything! Ribs were tender, street tacos were with pulled pork and coleslaw, and the pulled pork sandwich was also tasty! I would suggest adding coleslaw to the sandwich however. The BBQ is pretty decent. I really like their brisket and I love that there are 3 different BBQ sauces at the self-serve condiment station. My favorite is the sweet BBQ. I've also tried their pulled pork, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. All of which tasted pretty good. Dickey's also offers a Coke Freestyle machine, so you have a lot of drink choices. The employees have been helpful and they offer samples of the brisket if you've never been there before. I like the decor and the rustic look of Dickey's. I will say that the wooden benches aren't the most comfortable though. I think I prefer sitting in the chairs. As far as prices go, they're comparable to any other BBQ joint. In my experience, a meal will run me between $8-$11. read more

Originally when I noticed this place being installed I thought "maybe this is something new." Then I did my research and found this is actually a rather large franchise chain. Decided I would give it a try one of these days. So this morning while drinking my coffee I plucked "bbq pit masters" off of the xfinity guide and watched for about 15-20 minutes. While I don't remember the contents of the show, I do remember it made me hungry for bbq, and my mind turned to this place. So I tried a half rack of pork ribs, slaw and green beans. 5 stars is an appropriate rating because the ribs were, honestly, the best ribs I've ever eaten - at least in recent memory. Do yourself a favor and go get some gosh darn good BBQ. Side notes - little pricey. Good meat costs money. If your going in thinking your going to pay 5 bucks (like at subway) for ribs and a side - your not. 1/2 rack of ribs, cole slaw, green beans and a drink were about 20 bucks. The good news is you pay for your bbq based on weight. You can tell the dude at the front counter "hey man, just give me a 1/4 pound of chicken" or "how bout just a 1/4 rack of ribs?" But in all honesty - the food was so good and my belly was so full I didn't care about paying 20 dollars. Give this place a shot. read more

Nice and Smokey. I found this place by accident on my way to Michaels and Target. There was a small sign on the side of the road and I was like, "what? A BBQ place that I don't know about!" So after my shopping I went in search of Dickey's. I ended up having to call to get the exact location. This is a very nice establishment. Love the decor. I met Linda the owner. She was very helpful in my decision and even let me sample the sausage. The food was good. The spicy sauce was very flavorful without a lot of heat. I got the ribs and brisket. Brisket was moist and tender. The ribs fell off the bone. I also got the Mac n cheese. It was too salty for me but I think it's because there was a lot of cheese sauce. Service was excellent, friendly and conversational. Definitely glad I found this place. Give them a try, you'll go back. read more

Travis Dickey would be disappointed. Not a good place for BBQ. Do not trust any ratings over 2-3 stars for this restaurant. Ordered "3 Meat Plate" which was supposed to be 'Texas Size'. This chain hails from Texas.  I've lived in Texas and know Texas Barbeque. This was Munchkin Land sized.  The owner told the customer that she only deals in 1/2 or full racks, so I was excited that I would get a 1/2 rack with my combo for $14.  I got 2 bones with the meat in the middle.  Yes you read right, and not a meat-bone-meat cut.  Just 2 bones with meat in between.  The brisket was dry and was like cubes of dry pot roast.  How do you dry out a brisket?  I thought that was impossible until today, because you have to cook fatty brisket forever and it's still juicy and tender. And Texas brisket is sliced, not beaten to death. The pulled pork was ok.  The sides were bad, the beans flavorless and the potato casserole tasted like potato flakes that were worked into a glutinous glob. And they are WAAAAAY overpriced for what you get.  Positives. The place was clean, the service was friendly and they have free refills.  They have all you can use bbq sauces, sweet, spicy & original. By the dryness of the meat ur going to need to drown it.  I was real disappointed in this place and with other bbq joints in Washington like Cheese's or Hog Father's which isn't much better steer clear and spend your money elsewhere. read more

I would suggest buying meat here by the pound and making sandwiches at home (we ordered to go). The pulled pork and brisket were pretty good... Not stellar, but will get again for sandwiches at home. Also, when you buy a $50 family pack you kind of expect more than one small cup of one sauce. Most places offer a variety and at least more than one person would reasonably use. read more

The meats are so tender, smoky and delicious. You can tell that they are cooked "low and slow", like all good barbecue is. The sides are fantastic too. The owner, Lynda, is so attentive and friendly. She always takes time to stop and talk to customers, and makes her regulars feel so special and welcome. We've gone there for years and will always return. read more

Tried this out today, it isn't good. Ribs were sparse and overcooked. The brisket and pulled pork were dry. The sauce wasn't even anything ti write home about. Finally! True Texas-style Barbecue done the right way, right here in town. This is the real deal, folks. This is brisket and chicken, slow smoked til it falls off the bone, and sausage that's crazy good! Dickey's big yellow cups filled my kitchen cabinets when I lived in Texas years ago, now I'm starting a new collection, hooray! Creamed spinach, cole slaw, and baked potato casserole are my go-to sides, and my kids love the mac'n'cheese. Haven't tried the pulled pork tacos yet because every time I go in I just find myself automatically ordering sliced brisket and sausage -- it's so yummmmm! 3 sauces from which to choose and you decide how much to use. (I recommend Original, and lots of it!) I am so very pleased to have great BBQ again, at last! read more

Went there for the first time and I was very dissatisfied. If you want fat instead of meat go there. Could hardly find any meat at all, pretty much all fat. Very small portions and very pricey. The sides were ok but nothing to get excited about. I ate the sides and left 90 percent of the pulled pork & brisket on the towel that serves as a Plate. It would have closer to five if it weren't for the response to a comment about a to-go order. Service can leave a bad taste that overshadows the flavor in a franchise resturant. Ordered the xl pack on line the day before for pickup and then travelled 90 miles to a gathering only to discover, no rolls! Not a tragedy, just a disappointment. The food is good, i like the pulled pork. A little high priced, but a good value, so next time in my girlfriend mentioned the mistake and the response was "So what, do you want me to give you some rolls?" How about do it right the first time? On to the survey! The lukewarm response from Dickeys was again disappointing. They did bother to call "It was an honest mistake"( never said it wasn't, just expected a better customer oriented response) and basically, sorry about your bad luck here's a plastic cup for doing the survey. Save your money and go elsewhere. At 7 pm on a Saturday night they were out of turkey! I ordered BB chicken instead. As I was paying, the server indicated they had run out of chicken and could not serve me the full portion size and no adjustment was made. My friend ordered baked beans as one of the sides. They were out of that too. So, at 7 pm on a Saturday, no turkey, only a small portion of chicken was left and none was being prepared, and no baked beans! Their chips, supposedly home made, as a side for $2.65 were more like a dollar-size bag of Lay's original chips! The food did not have a BB flavor as at other establishments. All very bland. The portions of the sides, as others have indicated, are child-size. I left starved which is usually not to case. Go to Max and Erma's, Texas Roadhouse, Applebees, TGI or a host of other establishments in the area. Disappointed and will never return. read more
