Typically a good sandwich but not today. Had pulled pork which was super dry and hard. Seemed like leftover from day prior. Actually hard to eat and didn't finish because so bad. Usually not bad food which is why I stopped. If it hadn't been a "to go" order, I would have returned it to the counter for a replacement or money back. We stopped here today for dinner, not having any expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by everything - the food, service, and the dining room. We got the brisket sandwich plates which include two sides, and we each got a fountain drink. That came to about $38. Those sandwiches were very tasty and filling. The drinks are too big and too costly. The tab probably would have been just over $30 without the drinks. The person working the counter was very friendly and nice, brought the food out to the table when it was ready. The woman who manages/owns this location is very blunt, and judgmental. I went in there with my daughter who was barely 2 years old (but very tall for her age), and this woman started to question why she still wears diapers and even said "she's too big to not be potty trained, you need to get her out of diapers". I had never met this woman before and we weren't even having a conversation. I was trying to order food and check out. I have never been back since this happened and I never will go back. To top it off, Dickey's is supposed to be famous for their sweet tea. The tea at this location was not as expected. The tea wasn't strong enough, and was way too sweet. Sorry in advance because I didn't take photos. However, had a take out order of the picnic for 2 and added on 6 ribs. With tax and a $5 tip it was about $50. With the picnic for 2 they give you 1 lb of meat and let you split the available meats 50/50. I got pulled pork and brisket. The brisket is lean vs wet and had a peppery bark that will give you a little bit of a kick back. I prefer lean vs wet so I'm happy. You also get two large sides. I ordered the green beans and the Baked Potato casserole. The green beans were the flat kind ( not French style but the very wide from Grandma's garden style and also pretty peppery). I didn't care for them. The baked potato casserole was hot and the consistency of a thick mashed potato. We saved the leftovers of the potato casserole and threw away the green beans. Looking forward to trying more sides in the future. They also give you about 6 dinner rolls. They were pretty good. I would recommend asking for butter to go with them. My husband dipped his in the potato casserole......weirdo but he also dips his puffed Cheetos in ranch dressing. Guess we like our condiments. They also give you two containers of BBQ sauce with the picnic for 2. Options are Sweet, Original or Spicy. If I knew I was getting two separate containers I probably would have picked a spicy for my husband but I asked Original. Sauce was GOOD. I don't like my meat wet and pre sauced so this is right up my alley. Almost as good as Mission BBQ. Just missing the Alabama white sauce from Mission to compete. Or the wet option on the brisket for those who prefer that. We'll definitely be back. The service was phenomenal. I was the only patron at the time. The employee who helped me was so friendly and helpful. She walked me through the options since it was my first time and even learned a few details about my personal life. Great barbecue, as was expected for a chain. I was a little disappointed to see that this place didn't serve fried okra, waffle fries, or turkey like I saw on the online menu. I though I got a photo of my ribs & brisket plate beforehand, but I must have been impatient and hungry. The meat on the ribs was really tender and a beautiful pink. The brisket was perfectly smoky but not overdone. The chicken was really moist. I tried all three sauces. They were all good, but the sweet barbecue is my favorite. I had green beans and barbecue baked beans for my sides. Both had a black peppery kick and were delicious. I found myself dipping my roll in the baked beans repeatedly. The wife had brisket tacos, and said they were perfect. I had seen some pulled pork and slaw ones online, but didn't see them on the menu here. First this is a chain. But.... it's a good chain. I'm doing a high protein low carb thing so when I passed a sign for Dickey's I thought to myself... perfect! I ordered the 3 meat plate and while a bit pricey, it was worth it. Let's look at the pros and cons Brisket - it was a bit fattier than I like but it was super tender. A bit dry but their barbecue sauce is awesome and fixed that. Chicken - holy crap it's moist. But... not a lot of smoke flavor. Cooked great with good spice though!! Pulled pork - I'm a huge pulled pork guy. This didn't disappoint. Good smoke flavor and tender. My fave of the three. I had cabbage slaw and bbq baked beans as my sides and honestly... these were the rockstars of the dish. I expected them to be meh, since this is a chain but the slaw is a nice deli recipe, not too vinegary, nice cuts of cabbage and veggies. The beans though... they tasted just like mine do. Sweet with a hint of spice. Normally this would be a 4 star review but... the service pushed this to 5. I was walked through the menu, suggested a dessert (which I turned down because I'm chubby) and checked on periodically enough where it was nice and not annoying. We just got a Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Washington, PA, and what a great thing that is! I had the pulled pork sandwich and pulled pork and coleslaw street tacos. Absolutely delicious!! The pulled pork was smokey and and super tender. I also had the potato salad which was amazing. I only tried their sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and it was really good. I'll have to find out if they bottle it! So you can go to Dickey's; recharge your battery with fantastic BBQ at reasonable prices and you can also recharge your cell phone or laptop on their seats. The benches have electrical outlets! Cool touch. I'll definitely be going back and trying everything on the menu. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, but all the meats had a fairly generic flavor and relied on the bbq sauce to bring a good flavor. What I was most disappointed in was the "Texas size" meat portion. This couldn't be further from the truth. For $18 I expect a decent portion size. The sausage came with a whopping 4 SMALL slices, that's not even 1/4 of a link. The ribs came with 2 ribs. Generally a rib order will at least have 3 ribs. The brisket was about 2 tbs of meat. We stopped with a bus group Saturday night Dec. 3, after being delayed at Oglebay. Called ahead and asked if they would stay open for us. The amazing manager said come on in! She and a staff member handled 30 from the bus that went there to eat. They had us all with food in front of us in less than 30 minutes. It was hot and good and all were happy!
