Great and quick service on my e bike. I had a shelf fall on it and everything was a little out of wack- broke kick stand and mirror off, along with needing just general service and breaks checked. We took it in they said it would be maybe a week. The next day that had it all back together, new kickstand and mirror installed everything back in order and I was back in business. Friendly staff, poor service, had them install a new chain on my bike, brought it back one week later because the chain kept falling off, they called saying they "fixed it" but when I got home, the problem was still there, no quality control whatsoever. Never coming back read more

If I could give this place more stars, I would. I bought an adult tricycle off Amazon and had no idea what I was doing. They had it fixed up and ready to go in about 20 minutes, and the price was extremely fair. Super helpful, honest, and efficient. I won't go anywhere else for bike problems. read more

The guys were in the middle of what seemed like a busy day. I thought I needed a new wheel because the rim was bent, which they could have taken the easy and more profitable route and sold a new one to me. Instead, they looked at it and thought...I think we can bend this back enough. Went right to work on it without blinking. 15 minutes later I walked out with the unbent rim and paid 25% of what I was planning. I will absolutely be going back in the future. read more

I cannot imagine it being any better than this place! I have been taking my bike to a shop in Rock Hill. They recently changed owners and the price for a tune has doubled. Plus they keep your bike for a week before you ever get a call to tell you what they were going to do. I went back and got it and took it to Dicks. I dropped it off on a Wednesday morning and had it back the next day. It was a great experience from the very first call. Very reasonable charge at $75.00 for a tune up. I highly recommend this place! Plenty of free parking in the surface lot across the street. Support your locally owned and operated business! read more

I didn't know much about ebikes when I went into the store, and they were super knowledgeable and helpful in getting me set up with a great Aventon Aventure 2 eBike. Thoroughly impressed with this shop. The owner is a friendly and wonderful guy. I've been in before but wanted to get more of a feel for the place before writing my review. This time I needed a little help removing some pedals that had been tightened over a year of hundreds of miles of riding. I know how to do it but just don't have quite the right tools or a bike repair stand. Hoping they would be willing to just loosen the old pedals for me I brought the bike in unannounced at lunch time during a weekday. The owner and other employee were happy to drop what they were doing and hop on it immediately. I was stoked! On top of that they installed my new pedals I brought with me. Granted it was a 10 minute or less job but, they could have easily just gone by the book and told me to schedule a time or leave it until tomorrow. I guess they were slow since it's still technically winter (though it doesn't feel like it). The owner even took me over next door to scope out their expansion into a showroom space where they will sell even more refurbished used bicycles. Which, by the way y'all, are the best kind to get. Yeah, even better than a brand new Walmart bike. In the end, I probably shouldn't say this but they didn't charge me for the time to remove my old pedals and install my new ones. How cool is that? The best thing I could offer was for them to keep my old pedals to reuse on a refurb bike in the future. Regardless, I'll be back HERE for tune ups and more detailed repairs anytime in the future. Skip the big box stores, even REI. They don't have the time, care, knowledge or patience that this shop has. read more

My vintage Schwinn tandem needed some TLC and I was so glad to learn about Dick's. Very helpfully, and honestly, when I first called they were catching up on a big backlog of service orders but asked if they could call back in a few days when they could give me better service. And they did call back in a few days so I took my baby (it's a 1979 model two seater with disc brakes) over to the shop and they worked on it and had it ready the next morning. They took it for a road test and gave it a thorough check up and she's peddling like a champ again. Friendly service, reasonably priced, and located conveniently next to a great ice cream shop. read more

I had hoped but I was very disappointed! Took my bike in due to an issue with some shifting problems. They did a tune up and said all was good. Went for a ride when I got home and the bike was worse than what it was when I too it in! So the next day I took it to another shop; they fixed it in five minutes at no charge. I wasted $50 at this place. I would recommend if you have a high dollar bike do not go here. Oh I got a lecture about how bad disc breaks are. Probably can do a good job on Wal-Mart type bikes. read more

I liked this place from the first visit. It has that feel of a shop from the days before everything was a strip mall (personal service being the hallmark). I tried to find a home for my wife's good but mildly-dated bike after her sudden passing. I tried all around Charlotte and the suburbs for several years, but nobody was willing to give me the time of day. At this shop I was able to trade it for a good, clean, used, entry level mountain bike for me or for maybe a new riding companion. Win, win! read more

Have taken my kids' bikes here many times for repairs and tune-ups. Great attention to detail, won't try to up sell or charge for anything they don't need. Prioritize kids' bikes over adult bikes when there is a big backlog. read more

I needed a flat tire repaired on my bike and saw this place online. Took my bike up on a Saturday morning and they treated me like a friend and not a customer. The owner literally stopped working on another bike, popped mine up on a rack, and fixed my rear tire in 10 minutes! Just got my bike back from them today. Full tune up + new tires. My bike looks (and acts) like when I first got it! The staff is so friendly, and the turn around time is so fast. The guys at Dicks Bicycle Repair shop are outstanding. Don't be fooled by what this place might look like or the fact that it is not one of the bigger local bike shops in the Charlotte area. These guys are very professional, really know what they are doing, and most importantly are extremely fair. I just brought my bike in and they were actually able to save a part to my bike, rather than just replacing it. I have gone several times there and would really highly recommend them to anyone. Save your money and put your trust in these guys, they know what they are doing, and are more than reasonable. The experience was some time ago but I was not happy. I brought in 2 bikes and we discussed what needed to be done. I told the man if the price changed I wanted him to call me. When I came back sure enough new price. He told me he thought that it was just if the price changed on the one bike but not the other.
