It's been about 2 years since I took my Jameson in for service. I wrote their first review. I had such a bad experience this time and I won't be returning. I took my bike in and talked to a lady named Audrey. She wasn't very personable from the beginning. She told me a tune up was $105.00, I had to ask her to repeat that number. Then she told me it would be a week before someone called me to tell me what needed to be done to the bike. I didn't ask but this place has changed hands from the two guys who were the original owners when they were in downtown Rock Hill. Riverwalk is more of an upscale location and they can probably run the business this way. They are overcharging and underserving. What a business model? I was told to take my bike to Dicks Bike Repair in Pineville so I did. Full service tune up for $75.00 and back in two days. read more

This store is awful and the employees are rude. The website and voicemail recording hours are misleading. Even in Yelp the manager said the hours are 10-6pm. They both say they are open on the weekends but in actuality only sales are open on the weekends- they fail to mention no tech including minor adjustments. It would have been nice to get this information before I drove an hour round trip. On top of that, when I pointed this out to the employee he was rude and condescending. He made excuses and then told me good luck when I said I would go to the Trek Store in South CLT instead. They saw be struggling with a young child to get him and the bike back in the car and wouldn't allow either of us to use their restroom even when I purchased a helmet. On the flip side, the Trek Store in South Charlotte tuned my son's bike on the weekend for no cost and offered to load and unload the bike without me asking. And they had clean restrooms. The tech was cheerful and helpful. I would always recommend South Charlotte Trek store over Bike Town. read more

Bought a new Trek bike 2 and a half years ago. Have had numerous issues with rear wheel, derailleur, brakes and cables. They repaired a couple of things. but are usually too long on the turnaround time as I use it to commute. Mostly friendly. The last try I was quoted repairs almost as much as the bike cost new and told things were wrong that actually weren't. Like I needed a new front wheel when that was not even an issue. Seems they were less than enthused after I told them I had bought a new Giant to replace the Trek as my main commuter. I took the bike to Dick's bicycle repair in Pineville, paid half of what they were charging and got it the same day with a new rear wheel. I'll bet if I bought a new $2000 bike service might have been different. I have been riding for 35+ years and know when a shop cares. They didn't. read more

Disappointing service, especially since this is the only real bike shop in the Rock Hill area. I needed one piece of shock mount hardware swapped to another shock (same shock but a coil) and was told it would take MULTIPLE days. I took it to Uptown Cycles (Bicycle Sport Charlotte) and they got it done in 5 minutes. I also had to explain a few times what I needed done to the person working the counter. She didn't understand what was needed and had very little knowledge of service work and didn't understand service workflow. I have dealt with the mechanic before, he's great. Usually will help if he can. Low rating is deserved. You'll be happier spending a couple extra minutes to go to one of the other South Charlotte bike shops. read more

Bike Town couldn't (wouldn't?) fix the front tire on my wife's bike! All it needed was an inner tube! I even offered to remove the wheel, leave it with them, and made no stipulations as to time requirement or cost. The reason, as Audrey, a very unkind and unhelpful young "lady" (trying to keep this review PG), said but refused to explain-- liability reasons. She suggested I take the bike to Pineville! You see, the wheel and tire came off of my wife's e-bike, and I had innocently mentioned this in the course of our conversation. Now I get that they may not have the knowledge to work on the electronic drive and control systems on e-bikes, but this was a *front* wheel and tire (zero electronics involved and precisely like any other bike). It is unreasonable to state that there is somehow added "liability " connected to something as basic and everyday at a bike shop as installing an inner tube. In disbelief, I tried to reason with Audrey--to no avail. She asked me to leave the shop! About a half hour later, I called the shop, Audrey answered, and asked if I dropped off a wheel and tire that needs an inner tube could they take care of it? Just the wheel and tire, I was only bringing in. She said yes, absolutely, for sure, just bring it on by. After we rung off, I called back and said I forgot to mention the size and quoted 16" x 3.5", was that ok? Yep, No problem. After we rung off, I called again, Audrey answered, I said I forgot to mention that the wheel and tire were from the front of an e-bike. I think she'd figured out by now who I was cause she kind of freaked out, and yelled at me about their liability thing. me: "May I ask one question?" Audrey:(finally)"yes" me:"if I hadn't mentioned it, how how you have known that the wheel and tire were from an e-bike inn the first place?" Audrey hung up on me. Rock Hill really needs a legit bike repair shop and Bike Town ain't it. Please don't support businesses that don't support customers. Pass on going to Bike Town and pass along this review. read more

I came in had a problem installing a new tubeless tire at 12:30pm ... had to be out riding by 2pm for a 3 hr ride before dark on a cloudy cold day and Nathan jumped on it immediately and got it fixed right away! I am so appreciative and will give them all my future business. I train core , wts, run ,bike 3.5 to 4 hrs a day and they saved my training day !!! Can't thank them enough!!! read more

Worst place to take your bike to repair. We ended up paying 329 for nothing.

I had a great experience today shopping for a new bike. I came into the shop, and started speaking with Andrew. He spent the time to understand my intended use of the bike, and he helped me understand the advantages and disadvantage in each of the selections. I purchased a new TREK Marlin 5, a new helmet, along with accessories for basic maintenance. There was no pressure through this process. I would definitely recommend this place, to a friend when shopping for another bike. read more

Over the past decade I have purchased 5 new bikes from this bike shop, and had my favorite bike refurbished twice. I took it in last month for its third refurbishment, and was given a quote of $300 for the work with a promise that it would be done by the 6th of the month. I told them to do the work. A week after the work was supposed to be finished, I got another call saying the work had not been started, but it would now cost $425 to do the work. No reasonable reason was given for the 40% increase in cost...other than to say that it was now close enough to the cost of a new bike that perhaps I should buy a new bike instead of fixing my old favorite. This used to be a great store when Andrew ran it...now they've completely lost their customer service skills. Too bad, I used to really like this bike shop....but I've done my last piece of business with them. There are too many other bike shops out there who understand the value of a loyal customer. read more

Great team at SBR! I had a particular MTB I was looking for and the owner Tom was able to work with me and find a full suspension in my budget. Since then I've been in for my Free 1 month tune up and they had it done by the next day. Great job by techs making sure the bike was adjusted to my size and riding style. Awesome experience.
