The place was actually hard to find despite the super clear google maps directions. I blame the odd signage (one shirted dummy, seated; words at the top of a window which are largely covered by an awning; text atop that awning with a different name on it!) as I definitely saw and identified the location to the left and the two boutiques to the right as I ride right past this main event. I literally thought this place was a vintage shop based on the branding I could see and the TIKI STATUE in the main window display. The location itself was neat and clean, and totally packed. I was impressed with all of the inventory they had. That said, I didn't know what some of it was and I couldn't tell what a lot of it cost. Clarity of labeling is important to keep things from feeling like clutter and to allow customers to help themselves. Also, I just didn't really feel the love which tells me that at this location customers do have to help themselves. I came by to see what the place was all about and what kind of services were offered but didn't really find that out. Did speak with someone who appeared to be working and it looked like there was a huge shop area in the back but I didn't really get a sense for what was going on, what was available, who would be helping me/my new baby girl (haven't named her, yet), etc. I'll definitely check them out again if/when I've got something specific going on, but this visit felt pretty average. If you're going to help me with my wheels, I want to feel like you love her, too. Even if she's been around the block a time or two! read more

great guy fixed my bike well.

Stopped by here in search of a taillight for my bike. Was greeted and immediately helped with some advice regarding lights. In-and-out in no time! The storefront makes the place smaller than it looks. Kind of like one of those clown cars that have a million clowns that come out of it... you walk in and there's a ton of bike paraphernalia everywhere, but it looks like they have a larger "back room". They service anything and everything that is on two tires. It's located off of Park Ave... and the road can get pretty busy during rush hour. Mostly on street parking here... there is a small side lot you can park in to come visit. I do like how they took one of their on-street parking spots and put a bike rack on there for fellow cyclists that ride to the store. read more

I went in to get a helmet and the person working in the store was friendly and helpful. They had a decent selection of helmets at different price ranges, including the lower end of the range close to the $40 I was looking to spend. I'll be back! read more

So I'm really in need of a mountain bike & I have been for quite some time now, I have to get some exercise. So I checked this place out to see what they could offer me. The place isn't anything big, but they have plenty of bikes crammed into the joint. They sell all kinds of bikes, from mountain to cycling, & all different brands. I was pleased with the selection they had, & the prices seemed pretty reasonable. Heck, they even let me test ride a mountain bike out back to see how I like it. Needless to say, everything was out of my budget (but that's not very high), so I didn't purchase. The service was great, but I was with a coworker that is a big cyclist so he knew a couple of the employees. But regardless of that, the service was still great & they were all very helpful. If I had the money to buy a bike at the time, I would have purchased then & there. SouthPark Cycles is a nice little bike shop with great service. They have a good selection for such a small store & the prices are pretty reasonable. read more

I had an extensive overhaul on my race bike done at the shop. Blair and Bart helped me decide the right parts for me and not the most expensive. I couldn't be happier with the results and the price. They sell both Road and Mountain bikes and have a large selection of both for sale. They can order just about anything in a weeks time. A ton of parts on hand. Stop by a take a look! Have been multiple times for odds and ends and can usually get what you need (locks, bells, etc). Have also had good success with the maintenance and tuning done on my bike there. read more

I went here to have them adjust my rear derailleur since a couple gears were slipping. I also mentioned about some rubbing going on when I was in my middle ring and in the higher gears. Blair took care of me and had my bike finished within 2 hours of dropping it off. He even tightened the headset that he noticed was loose. He said it couldn't let the bike go out of his shop without making the fix. Prices are reasonable and the service is stellar. I will continue to bring my bikes back to QueenCity Bicycles. The shop is in an awesome south end location and Bart can get anything I need - even if it isn't in stock. There is a great rotation of bikes new and used so it pays to check in frequently!
