Update: I'd like to say/think that their food quality has improved since my last review. In my prior review, I was comparing the different options in town - sure, they've all go their strengths and weaknesses, but Dick's is pretty solid. I'll go ahead and counter my previous review - since El Fidel upped their prices, I feel like the quality also dropped. Dick's, on the other hand, has increased quality and stuck with their prices. The 5th Quarter Grill has closed and been replaced with The Rock, but has a very limited menu. So, relatively speaking, I feel like Dick's is back on top for Other-Than-New-Mexican food fare. Everything else seems similar as compared to my old review. One thing though is that all the nicer bars in town have been closing really early lately, so if you want drinks from 10pm and onward, this place will be packed. read more

The wait staff doesn't come around nearly often enough to check if you need anything. I've visit this bar/restaurant several times a year for the past 20 years, and I can easily say that this is the worst wait staff they've ever had. That said if you find yourself eating at the bar or in the restaurant they have pretty good deli sandwiches and some of their starts and entrees are not bad. Try the green chile cheese fries or the New Mexico bagel. They also have a nice selection of domestic and imported beers. If you sit in the bar you can order from both the deli and the restaurant, but if you sit in the restaurant you can't order form the deli. If you do sit in the bar, sit at the bar for quicker service otherwise you may not get helped. read more

Food was great. Had a Buddha Bowl, salmon, quinoa, rice, edamame, some kind of sauce. Very, very good. Good beer list. Didn't have to wait to sit and it wasn't too loud in there. A great place to stop when you're on the road and don't know where to stop. Would eat there a lot if we were local. Hope to pass through again and order the Buddha again. read more

Last week I had lunch at Dicks, a cobb salad. It was as cobby as a cobb salad can be and service was excellent, considering the power went out up and down the street for about 20 minutes and the servers just kept on working. Food was good, menu looks interesting and I will be back. read more

Restaurant is clean and the food is good. However, the food is pricey for what you get. Sandwiches are nothing of fascination and pricey. My friend asked for a side of green chile for her sandwich and was charged $2 for a meager portion of chile that fit in a tiny condiment cup. Also, we were all charged a "CC transaction fee". I was paying with cash so, I didn't find that fair since I wasn't paying with a credit card. There are better places in town that provide better bang for your buck. read more

After driving 13 hours today we stopped in Las Vegas, New Mexico for the night. Our hotel recommended Dick's and we could not be more happy! The drinks, food, and service is impeccable!! The bartender made one of the best cosmos I have ever had! The Cuban was to die for! On our trip we had two meals at 5 star steak restaurants, spending over $700 combined. Wish I could rate the food or drinks. But we walked in sat at a table the waiter wiped the table handed us menus and never came back. He and 2 other servers walked by us several times. I order the The green Chile Alfredo and it was wonderful but other story for my husband, he order the top sirloin medium rare and he got an almost well done and no flavor at all and the same thing with the mashed potatoes so we ended up sharing the pasta. Nice place and good service. read more

What a surprise! We stopped in because it was the only place open. Wide variety on the menu. I got a burger, wife got a sandwich, daughter got chili fries and my son got carbonara and they were all amazing. Don't expect cheap bar food, the restaurant in the back is great and the prices are good. Will definitely stop again next time we are passing thorough. Ugh! Methinks not! This place is overpriced and the service is non-existent. I stopped in to watch a game and it was full of drunk locals that seem to have the upper hand as far as service is concerned. You apparently have to sell your first born to get service here. I don't see the appeal and it's overrated. The atmosphere is drab and dreary and you wait eons for service. The service was great! Fast, friendly and took care of concerns. Unfortunately the food was a AWFUL! What a waste of money. Absolutely no spice on the fajitas and the meat was tough. We were traveling from Colorado to Texas and this seemed like a decent place to stop close to the highway. Walking in it's a small liquor store with loud drunk people in the back. I called in my order while driving and the total came to $34! That was for tacos, a salad and a kids meal. The menu online has fries included with the kids quesadilla, as it should. What kids meal for $6 doesn't include a side or drink. Well they charged me $4 for fries. In the end it was taken off. The Blue beef tacos seemed like a creative entree, but they were bland. The posada was good and so were the beans. My Southwest chicken salad was small for $11. It was so spicy! My mouth was on fire. The chicken was bland. If I was a local, I would just go for the bar. read more

What delightful surprise of quality food and service in Las Vegas NM. We stopped at Dick's enroute to AZ for late dinner at 8:30 pm. The menu included a good variety of American and Mexican cuisine along with a nice selection of draft beers. I ordered the beef enchiladas and my husband the fish taco special. My entree came with home cooked beans (not refried) that were delicious. The enchiladas were wrapped in blue corn tortillas with just the right amount of sauce and seasoning. Unlike most places, the side was posole instead of the usual fluffy rice. My husband said the fish tacos were the best he had ever had!! And this is from someone who eats Mexican food frequently in AZ. The server was sweet, friendly, and checked back with us frequently and even offered to change out my IPA with another beer choice. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review, but I do feel I need to share my experience with Dicks on 12-11-2019. I am from Colorado, and I agreed to meet a friend from Albuquerque for drinks and lunch. I did a restaurant search of Las Vegas and decided on this place because the food looked good on the photos, and the restaurant looked clean. After reading all the negative reviews I decided not to eat there, but I told my friend, "let's at least give it a try, let's go for drinks, and if the service is good, we'll stay for lunch". The service was HORRIBLE. They sat us down right away, but it took over ten minutes to order a drink. When we were ready for a 2nd drink we waited and waited. Finally when the waiter came up I told him, "we have been waiting for over ten minutes for another drink order". He apologized and even paid for our next round.... I thought that would wake him up and be on top of things.... never came back...... I had to wave him down, and he rolled his eyes and said, "I'll be right there"... it took about another ten minutes... we ordered one more drink and I told him right there, "just bring our ticket, it takes too long to get a drink around here". Even then we waited some time before he took my card. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. Very bad service. The reviews were right. I wanted to give them a chance. Bad decision. We went to another restaurant for lunch and had great service. read more

We were in town for a quick visit and decided to have a few drinks at Dick's. We found a great afternoon work crowd in a newly remodeled bar that had a great atmosphere and service. Had the Buffalo wings and chips and guacamole both were first rate. Will definitely stop by every time we get a chance! read more

I have so many complaints about this restaurant, I dont know where to start... The only reason I ever go back is for lack of options in this town and I always hope they can get their act together and put out a decent meal. If you want an over priced sandwich with bread from walmart, honestly, stick to the chicken salad or tuna. The other sandwiches have a paper thin slice of deli meat, all starting at nearly $12. For the side, do yourself a favor, get chips. I never knew anyone could mess up potato salad... They can. The burgers USED to be good. Two weeks ago, the burgers were charred on the outside, raw on the inside. The chef came up to say hello, I would have been embarrassed to send up such garbage, over priced at that! Not to mention, while he was upstairs chatting, we still hadn't received a meal, which was a salad. Usually, the flan is good. I think I'm sick from it now, because it was raw. Yup, raw egg. The owner has no clue how to run a bar or a restaurant. I remember being little and looking forward to a treat from Dick's, now I wouldnt even recommend the water. Literally. Sad. Sad. Sad. As for the bar, if you enjoy seeing recently divorced 40-50 year old's bumping and grinding like teenagers, making out on the dance floor, then this is the place for you! read more

The food is amazing. The green chile Alfredo dish and the angry Italian is to die for. I love the food and I'm never disappointed with the food. The bread served is also delicious. Everytime I go into Las Vegas I always make it a point to go to dicks. I didn't give it a full 5 star because the service, sometimes, is poor. OMG the food at Dick's is amazing! They advertise as having the best food in town, and it's true. They also have a HUGE menu -- so many things to choose from like Mexican, American, Italian, and more. The beef tacos have been my favorite so far. Where to start. Absent minded servers that needed to be reminded that we still needed cutlery, napkins, the food we ordered , and the bill. The margaritas are just that toxic green bar lime gunk with crummy tequila, the tortilla soup was stone cold, DO NOT order the $9 guac and chips or $8 salsa and chips- They're not expensive because they're good. The cheese quesdilla was just a child would prepare with cheddar melted between a tortilla. It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasnt an expensive meal that took forever. Dick's has been a regular place for us for many years. They've recently removed the liquor store and expanded the restaurant into that space. The remodel was, in my opinion, a great success. We've enjoyed the food and my particular favorite is the fish and chips. read more

Again, the bar is beautiful and the drink selection is good. I was definitely not impressed with the service, as per usual. We arrived as a group of 5 received dirty looks for ordering water as drinks. I ordered the fish and chips which was descent but soggy. Overall the food is ok, but the service is sub standard. I had to get their attention at the bar to order a beer and more water for the group, after that it took another 25 minutes for them to check on us. I think this place has potential but needs more staff to take care of the volume they are dealing with. read more

Just traveling through needing a place to eat we stopped at Dicks Pub. It was worth the stop! Everything tasted homemade. We had the enchiladas, nachos, tacos and fajitas.
