This place is the worst for customer service. Stood in line for ten minutes and then was told I had to go back to the sept I got the item from. Then I had to spend another ten minutes in line. I'll never visit Dick's again. Dick's sucks. read more

Walk in with my husband and first grade daughter looking for lacrosse gloves for her. Given the size of the place and the vast array of athletic gloves we figured they'd have, we asked an associate, Makayla, "can you tell us where the youth athletic gloves will be?" She points us to a rack about 3 feet wide with about 2 dozen pairs of adult sized winter gloves on it. We combed every single pair looking for one that would fit, thinking, weird, how is this all they have? It took about 20 minutes of frustration. As we're walking out, we spy 3 aisles stocked with appropriate youth sports gloves, indexed by sport. Thanks for your help finding this earlier, Makayla. Finally we got to bag our own stuff as we checked out while our cashier chatted with the guy standing next to him. Oh yeah, the gloves and a headband were fifty bucks, too. Lots of variety and good customer service. I had a nice experience here and love all the clothes from under armour to Nike.

So I go in about a month ago not even late at night, like 6pm on a Saturday. No customers (I now know why) and literally not one sales person on the first floor. I go up to customer service to ask for them to call someone (since no one seems to wanna work that day), just to get interrupted before i barely walked up by some weird cashier girl. "Are you checking out?!" I have nothing in my hands. I said "no? I had a question?" Then she looks at the lady she's checking out and says to her "is she with you?" What???? The lady awkwardly says "no.....?" The lady and I look at each other and I say "no." Weirdest crap ever they must be on drugs. So i start waking out the door because I already hate sports and sports stores in general and this just took the cake. The customer service lady shouted out "we can call for someone!" Ugh. So I walk back and say "I just need to buy this soccer ball" i had the picture online from their site and even had a sku. Instead of looking it up some dude walks me over the the balls and says "we don't have it, we can order it" I said no thanks I'll wait for Black Friday. (The ball was a present, hence why I ever stepped foot in this God awful hell hole of a store) here's where the real fun starts. It's Black Friday. I have a coupon I used to order the ball. It gets to my house. It's the complete wrong colored ball. Awesome. I go in and ask to exchange it to order it again. So Lindsay takes me to the machine (that didn't work) and we go to the shoes dept to re order it. She put the money I paid on a gift card not back on my card. Didn't even ask, immediately put it on a gift card before I had the chance to say anything. (It wasn't a big issue but became one later) so she tells me the total. Says I owe $2.71. For an EXCHANGE of the SAME ball. Of course they're making me pay shipping still for their warehouse's mistake. I refuse to pay the $2.71 for an EXCHANGE of the exact same ball. She gets online and talks to an obviously incompetent customer service person. Who after like 10 minutes waives the $2.71. As they should. I get a receipt and go on my way. Fast forward to a few days ago. The all gets here. ITS THE SAME EXACT WRONG BLUE BALL AS BEFORE. Okay I'm done. I already hated this store and the awful teenagers that don't wanna work. I'm done. I take it in for a refund. They (of course) wanted to refund it to a gift card. No. nope. Never will I spend a penny again here. The dude Logan was honestly the only one I've seen there with brains or common sense. He asked managers (3 times) over the mic to give me the money back because it's THEIR mistake 2 times. So the assistant manager (or something or other) who I believe was Lauren (brown hair, grumpy face, didn't interact with me or even acknowledge or apologize) didn't even know how to do the refund. Logan had to tell her. How are they hiring such idiot people and even the "management" there are complete morons. I honestly don't know why it surprises me though. Long story short - got my money back, everyone is an idiot teenager that knows nothing, won't work, and doesn't care about the customer. Except Logan. Thank you cashier Logan for using the only brain in that store - yours. (Bought the same CORRECT ball from Ebay for $4 more. It was worth the extra money to not have to set foot near that crap hole store ever again) read more

Unfortunately I have to frequent this store often. I have 3 boys and live 5 minutes away. Their is almost no customer service. If you need help with shoes be ready for a long wait. Usually 1 disinterested teen helping 5-10 people. If you need a dressing room, don't bother ringing that bell. It's a dummy switch, you'll stand there waiting all day. When you finally do find what you need, be ready for 10 deep lines at checkout. This is not one visit. It is consistently this bad. Avoid this Dicks unless you have no other choice. read more

Dick's is getting more and more overpriced. Their clothing is almost embarrassingly high priced. There is almost nothing here that is the same price or cheaper than the same item at Academy. They avoid a one because there are certain items that are better stocked and have a better selection than at other sporting goods stores. read more

OMG Love this store! They have everything - jeans, sneakers, socks, jackets, all kinds of sporty stuff - just an overall great store. Always CLEAN and people knowledgeable and willing to assist. Of course, I almost forgot to mention that their prices are really great too. I've been to all the places for sports/sporty stuff and this store wins #1 in my book. Start here and I think you will end here getting everything you need, they have it all! I don't know why others have had a bad time with customer service because every time I go in here I'm greeted (which I dont like) but someone is always available to assist. Happy happy! read more

I have gone to this Dick's and the Garland location now. Both times I went to buy something their website offered and was told they don't carry the items in the stores. No one ever offers to order anything, simply tells me too bad and goes back to work. I am not sure how they stay in business with this kind of customer service. read more

Horrible customer service, went to buy a fire arm, sales person says it was 199. So i fill out the background check and go through the whole process, after 30 minutes, when i am ready to pay, changes the price to 350. Tells me he made a mistake and got confused, so i asked for a manager, no one for another 20 minutes. Manager didn't care to address my issue. The firearm sales person has ONE job, and if he doesn't know the prices of stuff he is selling? Never going back to a dicks again. read more

One of the worse store experiences I have had to date. I had purchased a bike from the store that was not assembled properly. The safety and careless attitude was only the beginning of a complete mess I had to deal with at this location. I was sent to another one of the locations just to get the bike fixed. In the end the other store in Frisco fixed the issue, but I did file a formal complaint with Dicks HQ on the issue with the Allen location. I would highly suggest to do business elsewhere. read more

Dick's has cool stuff. I love browsing at Dick's and I always ended up buying something. My biggest pet peeve is the way they mark their sales items. It's so confusing. Some clearance stuff are extra off while others are not. They need to install a bunch of self-check price scanners 'cause it's annoying not knowing what the final price is on any of their items on sale. Even the employees are confused because none of them could explain to me which were extra 25% off, which were extra 50% off, and which were...... read more

My son and I went in today to buy a bike and associated gear. The store was quiet, not many customers and it was around 2 or 2:30. We had to track someone down for help but that wasn't hard. She was up there quickly with smile on her face and she gave us the best service. She answered all questions, made sure the bike passed all safety requirements, did a lot of teaching and made sure the helmet fit. She took us downstairs to the checkout where another girl helped us. By now, there are a few people at check stands but all the clerks were so good. All had smiles on their faces, were patient with customers and with us. I've always had good service at Dick's in Allen and today, I'm just as satisfied. Thank you, Dick's! I drive all the way down from Sherman shop! You are worth the drive. read more

I went in to purchase a trail camera as Dick's was running a special discount of $30 per camera and an additional $30 for cameras you might want to trade in (working or not). I went to the display area and found cameras but none of those advertised in the flyer that just came out in the mail. After locating a salesperson, I was told that they only had two of the cameras in the store when the ad came out. He told me that the next truck might have an order on it but it would only be 4 cameras because that's all they get in at one time. Clearly they don't want to honor the ad or they would get a decent number of cameras in when they run the ad. Also, when I entered the store, the line at checkout was about 20-25 people and two checkers. I have only been in the store two other times and it was the same then. I'm done with Dick's. read more

Was getting my bike repairs done on my bike and took them 3 weeks just to get to my bike customer service is really bad.

Manager of the Allen store explained to me that they no longer honor military discounts. He stated other store do, but because the corporate office doesn't have a policy to support service members, he will not. I will no longer shop at that store. It is a horrible example of patriotism and honoring service men and woman. read more

1 star is far too generous. Defective treadmill, and the manager of Allen, TX Dick's Sporting Goods didn't make any attempt to assist with the extended warranty company (Asurion) or the technicians (JEZ Enterprises) and their lack of communication and incompetence. Apparently long time customers aren't a priority for this company. read more

We bought a basic bicycle for my son after he outgrew his first one. We had an issue with the tire and the frame after the first few days. The staff was great and fixed it without charge. We had another issue a few days later with the brakes. Again, they replaced the brake pads at no charge and made sure that eveything else was in working condition while it was there being fixed. We have not had any other issues since that time. I will probably not buy this brand of bike again, but I will shop at Dick's Sporting Goods in Allen for future sports purchases. read more
