Wow what a great store! If you haven't been here yet plan on spending some time looking around. There is no doubt that if you are looking for Sporting Goods this is the place to go. I went in for some new running shoes. This department has a great selection with a very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous staff. My salesmen was Chris and the guy knows his stuff. Just came back from visiting Ridge Hill Store...The entrance is neat BUT as you go in to explore entire store the there are only three passage ways with room to pass the other so called "aisles" are so narrow you can't even walk through. Why store has shopping carts I'll never know ! I had to abandon mine 4 feet into store. No workers on floor, God forbid you want to ask a question ! The store is filthy. The floors haven't been swept and / or vacuumed I wanted ankle weights, took forever to locate and they only had two types to choose from, both were unsuitable. Had to pay $ 3.00 to learn a lesson...don't ever go to Dicks @ Ridge Hill. It is a DUMP!! Went next door to REI.. too bad they don't carry ankle weights, What a beautiful CLEAN AND NEAT store!! I dropped by here to pick up some Golden State Warriors gear for an upcoming game. They did not have a lot of shirts in size L available. They did have a good selection of Jerseys for KD and Klay Thompson. The Curry Jerseys were not as plentiful. I found a few items to wear to the game which I happily purchased. read more

Do not use Dick's Sporting Goods for any golf equipment repairs because, in my opinion they are inept, untruthful and not resourceful. I brought my Taylormade M1 driver in to have a new shaft installed. Instead they stalled me....for 2 months. They gave the excuse that Taylormade did not have the adapter tip for the new shaft. I called Taylormade and was told that I could receive an adapter in 5 to 7 days. Took my driver to the PGA Golf Store in Palo Alto and they did the job in 2 days. read more

WE went to the Serram onte store and purchased almost $200.00 of merchandise. The employees were rude, unhelpful and when checking out I forgot my coupon, the girll had on in her hand but would not use it. Never again. read more

This is a great addition to the Serramonte mall. I have to admit, this place totally beats out the old Sports Authority. The employees are friendly and the place is super clean and new. The design of the store is great with big screen TVs and two levels of shopping. read more

My first time ever coming into this place !!!! EVERYONE IN THE STORE IS WONDERFUL & HELPFUL! When I first arrived, my boyfriend and I were looking for some cleats for him to play football in. One of the employees helped us right away and when he realized they didn't have it in stock he went and tried to order it for us. When I got to the counter to purchase my items an employee by the name of Sydnie helped me. Not only was she helpful and made sure I walked out with what I needed, but she gave off a really positive vibe. I love this place! I will be coming back ! read more

I like many reviewer's want to like this place! It is visually stimulating and it gets a star for that alone. I have two young boys who are into every sport and a family of sport lovers. It's such a struggle to find what you are looking for and there is no support from staff... When asked they say "it's over there" and point in some random direction. But the ABSOLUTE worst service is at check out! I needed to return/exchange a few items from the slew of purchases made over the holidays and was treated as though I was committing a crime. Even with a receipt the translation was a chore, but without a recipet (although the items were purchased with a Dick's credit card) was humiliating. They want to give you a refund/credit of pennies on the dollor of the original (overpriced) item. No thanks! Tearing up the credit card and shopping where the establishment actually cares about it's customers satisfaction. Big Five up the street had youth baseball pants for half the price and the staff is helpful and friendly. read more

Wow, what a mess!!! I went in looking for swim wear. After 20 min of running upstairs and down, from one end of the store to the other I finally found an employee to help me, or more like point me in a direction. I was told swimming was out if season and to look in the back corner of the store. To me swimming is like running, it's never out of season! People swim in a heated pools that are indoors and there should always be a swimming section. When I got to the back corner of the store there was two racks of men's and women's swim wear piled on top of each other, it was such a mess! The whole store was disorganized and a disaster. Clothes were off the hangers and tossed everywhere. It's hard to believe they just opened and let it go down hill so fast. It's so sad that big corporations like Dicks Sporting Goods doesn't have heart or integrity in their products or service. If you are looking for an amazing sporting goods store definitely go to Sports Basement! It's worth the drive into the city!! read more

My mom and I ordered two beach cruiser bikes online through Dick's. They arrived in just a few short days since we paid a little extra for expedited shipping. Each bike came in pieces in a box, which we expected. We brought them into the Serramonte Dick's store on a Sunday morning right when they opened. Asked the first employee we saw if we could have help carrying the boxes from our cars, and the bike department guy (Kyle) and another guy came out right away and carried each box for us. Up the escalator to the bike department, where Kyle helped us. He told us our bikes should be ready the same day but in case they got super busy he gave us a completion date of two days from then. Which we appreciated. They called us two and half hours after dropping the bikes off, telling us that one of the bikes came a little damaged. Only cosmetic, rides fine. Some bends hear and there like in a fender, and a spoke. But they did their best to work each one out and get it looking as close to normal as possible, and when we saw it, they did a GREAT job. But still offered for us to leave the bike, and get a full refund for a new bike. We decided to keep it, it looked so great. We picked up our bikes same day, and Kyle told us if we waited a little longer, he was about to clock out and he would help us downstairs with the bikes to my car. So we waited 10 minutes, and he helped us out. He helped us all the way to the car, and helped us play Tetris to get two full sized bike cruisers in the back of a Mazda 3 hatchback (LOL no joke), but with a rope and some major Tetris skills, we made it work! And definitely would have been a lot harder had he not stayed and helped. We are so appreciative! That's going over and beyond in the customer service department, thanks Kyle! read more

DO NOT BUY A GUN HERE! Worst place in the entire bay Area to purchase a gun. You'll come back to the store four, five and six times to try to pick up your gun , but, there's only one D.O.J. approved person on staff who happens to only work Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays sometimes Fridays from 6 a.m. till 1 or 2 in the afternoon.( WHO THE F#@*! Is the smart guy that made that schedule?) So your only chance to pick up your gun that you've purchased is between 9 a.m. when the store opens and 1 , if the primadonna ever shows up. And if pick up is a pain in th ass , purchasing is equally as hard as nobody there knows how to use or is certified D.R.O.S.( their excuse is that everyone is on 6-month back log for certification....So hire some already certified people!!......idiots!) and no one not from the manager Steve all the way up to corporate gives a s*** whether you get your gun or not(same issue for the last year) or how long it takes for you to be able to finally receive what they took your money weeks ago for. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. Over a month ago I placed an order for by 1, get 2 free cabin socks (which unfortunately are exclusively sold at Dick's) as a gift for my husband's grandfather. I received one pair fairly quickly. The other two were labeled as "in process". I never received any communication from Dick's about the delay. Three weeks later I called customer service to find out about the remaining socks. The woman expected the socks to be out of stock but they weren't-they were still in the warehouse. She initially told me she couldn't ship them to me and that I'd have to re-order them. I refused as I wanted my original sale price honored. After speaking with her supervisor, I was told that they could send me the socks after all. Two more weeks go by and I had yet to receive the socks or any communication from Dick's, so I called customer service a second time. I was then told that the items had been out of stock, but are now back in stock. Again, I was told that I could reorder the socks, but I continued to request that my initial order be fulfilled and my sale price honored. After telling him that I had not received any sort of notice or communication, he told me that someone should be contacting me by the end of the week. I was skeptical that I would actually receive this phone call, so I asked him what to do in this case. He told me to call back on the weekend and ask to speak to the supervisor. It is now Sunday and I spent over 30 minutes on hold to speak to customer service. I asked repeatedly to speak to the supervisor and was not given the opportunity to do so. I was told that sale prices are not honored on out of stock merchandise and I'd have to buy these socks at full price. She didn't offer any other solution despite the fact that not once was I notified of any change in status. I will no longer be a customer of Dick's Sporting Goods. read more

If you want to see how sorry the state of 'customer service' currently is, go to their store at Arrowhead Mall. My wife and I went to the store to find her a 'Beach Cruiser' type of bicycle. There was no one in the bike department. I saw a young woman nearby and went to ask her for help and she RAN (not walked) away before I could ask. Then we saw a young man with a bike chain in his hands walking by the department. My wife asked about the type of bike she wanted, and said "we don't carry those." Well, we knew they carry them because my wife found it on the website. Before she could pull up the picture of the bike she had taken on her phone, the guy was gone. In fact, it was like quitting time (this was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon) BECAUSE WE COULDN'T FIND A SINGLE EMPLOYEE ANYWHERE, NOT EVEN IN THE SHOE DEPARTMENT. The guy we spoke with DIDN'T SHOW US ANY BIKES, DIDN'T SUGGEST ANY SIMILAR MODELS, OR EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO FIND OUT WHAT MY WIFE WANTED. Absolutely the rudest employees of any store we have encountered. We'll be buying the bike from an independent bike shop since this store IS TOO BUSY TO WAIT ON CUSTOMERS. read more

this is about online purchase with a price match. i had read in an online group im in about a every day price on wood pellets for my smoker at a retailer for a bag of pellets for 8.79 and that dicks sporting goods had price matched that price and then applied there advertised 25% off with free shipping. some of those guys posted there receipt that they had gotten the deal. i had decided to order some pellets so i called to place an order. the first call i made they were going to give me the deal but only for 1 bag because the manager said more than that was considered a bulk order. i told him 1 bag is not going to work. after checking dicks sporting goods fine print on shipping and ups size and weight, i had been lied to. i called back and told them what was said on the first phone call to me and that i checked shipping size and weight with ups and 1 bag is well under size and weight. now still talking to the CSR about this and he said he was told that they could not price match because it was not the same product( another lie ). i said it was the same maker, same size bag, same flavor, same picture on each web site.he then stumbled with his words on what to tell me next so he passed me to a manager. shawn was his name and said that he apologized for the misinformation on the first call and that they still will not honor the price match because they can not view there web site (lie, remember my first call said they would do it but for only 1 bag).( if they can not look at other web sites how do they price match at all). i said that your telling me you can not bring them up on your computer and he said no, i said then try your phone, no he said company policy states we are not allowed to have phones with us (lie after lie). i felt like all they wanted to do is find an excuse to NOT honor there own price match policy even if it means lying to you. dicks sporting goods has no business being in business with fake polices and lying managers. read more

20 registers, 1 cashier. I bought a SF Giants hat here and after I went to my car and realized it was too big. I went back in and the one guy working just said go grab the one you want. I left him the original one and he took the theft device off of the smaller hat that I grabbed. There was no new receipt given to me at the time. After I got home, I realized that this hat is just too small , so I'm giving up on this style hat. When I went to return it, they said the receipt did't match the hat (bc I got a different size and the employee did't reissue me a new receipt) so they reviewed footage from that date for about 45 minutes. They said they didn't see "that" on the tapes so I was out of luck. I asked to speak with the manager (Steve Deck) and he just smirked and said I can't do anything for you. I HAVE A RECEIPT, A CHASE BANK STATEMENT OF THE PURCHASE, A HAT WITH ALL STICKERS AND TAGS STILL ATTACHED, AND FOOTAGE of the entire incident. I emailed corporate on the issue and they simply replied that the didn't see footage, so we can not help you. I'm at a loss of words. This place was as sloppy as Mr. Deck. read more

there was an ad for a .223 savage arms axis sp rifle in the sunday paper. i went over to the store early sunday and talked to a sales person about buying the gun. she did not seem to know too much about the gun, although she seemed to know about gun sales policies at the store (a good thing). i asked to look at the gun but they did not have the .223 in stock . she said they could order it and it would take up to three weeks to get it. after that i would have to fill out all the paperwork and wait the required 10 days before i could take it home, since the y would have to write the serial number on the sales receipt due to california law (i understand that). however you would think that since it was advertised they would have it in stock, and i could buy it and take it home in 10 days, and not wait up to an additional 3 weeks. read more

I should rate this place with 0 star instead of one if it was allowed. that's all it deserved. I purchased a riffle advertising with $70 rebate on Black Friday 2014. I sent in the receipt for the rebate and was denied for the reason that time on my receipt was passed the 2:00pm cut off time. I begin the transaction and agreed to buy the riffle on the advertised price before 1:00PM. There were busy on Black Friday and their computer stopped working with DOJ back ground check for some time. By the time they finished the paper work and rang up the receipt, it clocked 2:29pm. I was waited patiently for them to finish and sale clerk was telling me I got a good deal with the rebate. The rebate center denied my claim and told me to go back to the store to get the problem resolve. I went back. The manager of the fire arm sale basically told me tough luck and go a way. I asked to talk to the store manager. He get on the phone with the some sob for a minute and told me the rebate was offered by the manufacture and I should go to the manufacture if there is any problem. I could not believed this how such a big store would treat its customer like that. I got better service at the flea market if there is any problem. I felt dealing with such scoundrel is extremely unpleasant experience and should never buy anything from dicks sporting goods again. I will consider filing complain with local DA office for deceptive business practice and take this scoundrel to small claims court. read more
