I give them zero stars. They sell us on those yearly $29 maintenance contracts and then they do not hold up their end of the agreement. I left my bike on June 17 for repairs and it is still not fixed as of July 18th. Not only that, but after several calls, visits and speaking with several managers, the parts required to fix my bike were never ordered. It seems like they stock everything but the items that are required to assist them in maintaining their maintenance contracts. read more

Good selection and the prices are ok but I often feel like it is staffed by kids who do not know much about the products. Ok for run of the mill sports shopping but for higher end items or advice go to smaller specialty shops. read more

One of the wheels on my bicycle has 2 broken spokes. Whilst shopping in the mall, I figured I would stop by Dick's and ask the guy in the bike section if they could repair broken spokes, and what their rates were. He confirmed that they could repair the broken spokes and that I could go ahead and bring it on in. A couple days later I come back with my bike to get it repaired. The same guy was there and he said that they didn't carry spokes in house and that he'd have to order them. He explained that it could be a couple weeks for the spokes to come in. He then told me that if I could order the spokes myself or by them elsewhere, I could bring it back with the new spokes and he could just repair it right there since it's a quick repair. He came across as very friendly and helpful and was just trying to get my bike fixed in the quickest manner. That's only reason I've given this 2 stars instead of 1. Flash forward to today. I've acquired the new spokes and I take my bike back into the store expecting a quick turn around. I go up to the bike counter, and there is a different guy this time. He's just sitting in his chair looking bored. I tell him what my problem is and show him the new spokes. He just looks annoyed that I've come with work for him to do. He says that he can check my bike in, but it would be a 3 week turnaround. I look at him in disbelief and ask why it takes 3 weeks to get to my 15-20 minute repair job. He just says that they've got a lot of bikes in. Since I didn't feel like arguing, I just left and will take my bike elsewhere. I was planning on buying my wife a bike here, but that's definitely not happening now if that's the kind of service we're going to get. read more

Excellent manager. Cashier was having all sorts of trouble exchanging my jacket for another size. Once the exchange was done he wanted me to pay an extra 25 dollars. I then pointed out the error and the cashier started to explain he didn't do that and that's how the machine priced it. He was quite insistent that I owed money. I tried to explain that I was just exchanging it for a different size. I asked to speak to a manager the cashier tried to continue to argue I told him I would like to speak to a manager and no longer wished to speak with him. The manager was then called and the manger quickly arrived. The cashier talked to the manager and the came back to speak with me. I then had to call over to the manager that I asked to speak with. The manager was beyond nice and helpful. The manager quickly ensured the transaction was taken care of. The manager then went above and beyond with his helpfulness and his ability to manage the situation. Rarely do I see a manager handle a situation so well. read more

My kids love this place, They have a wide variety for all the sport seasons but at times the service could be better as far as one on one with employee. Regardless when they have the right person in the right department I have never had a bad experience. read more

I needed help to find a nice pair of Nike leggings and I asked the employee which one she would recommend. I ended up buying the pair she chose and they are sooooo nice. The main issue was the staff. They were rude and unhelpful in every way possible. One guy when we asked seemed extremely impatient and sounded incredulous when we asked for a mouth guard then cut me off when I tried to speak. Another when I was in the middle of trying on shoes seemed aggravated that I needed help and just walked away after dumping three boxes in my lap, even though I clearly needed help with equipment I have never used nor tried on before. I had to go get staff and tell them to come over after waiting 10 minutes for assistance without avail. And this wasn't just myself, there were at least six other groups of people who needed help and were not receiving any. Not to mention the fact that it was almost just us in the store. It was late and most of the shoppers were in one spot, and the staff was away, possibly making tea. One employee after the ages of waiting said snarkily "Are you sure?" After I told him I needed a size eleven. No I'm not sure. I just enjoy telling you what to go get me and waste your time and mine. But sure ask me if I'm sure. I can sit here all day. Go to Amazon. Don't waste your time on dicks. The name of the store is fitting for the male staff. The only one who was at all kind was the female cashier who scanned our items. She actually smiled. Whoop dee doo. This is for the store. Hire a new staff. You certainly won't be seeing us around anymore. read more

I bought various sports apparel and equipment over the years at Dicks in Dulles, VA. The store has great products at great prices. My most recent purchase was over a thousand dollars - Road Bike & Triathlon gear for my first Triathlon. The prices were best (was looking for Shimano 105 or Tiagra components) when on Sale, and competitive even without sale. The customer service at their "Bike Shop" was awesome. Specifically Zandy, Larry & John helped with unbiased suggestions and once I made up my mind, tuned up the bike for me and fixed the clipless pedals as well.. Over all, very satisfied with the store and product selection. read more

I purchased a very expensive piece of workout equipment over $1000. The next day I fell down the stairs and fractured my tailbone. I am 65 years old. I'm really in pretty good physical health due largely in part to the fact that I still work out. But with my injury my doctor advised that I not do a stairstepper period! That the motion and pressure will delay my back from healing as it can take months to heal anyway!! So dicks took the elliptical back and let me exchange it for a treadmill!! There were absolutely no problems no hassles it was the easiest transaction for return of this price I've ever experienced!! And what's even more surprising is I wound up dealing with three staff members on the return and the purchased and each one of them knew what they were doing!! So often when a transaction is complicated a sales person Hass to escalate to someone else! To Dick's thank you thank you thank you!! read more
