They had an event this past weekend, Elfin Around. I run a business with a friend and we were a…read morevendor at this event. The event was terrible. All the customers were rude. Now I know that's not their fault, but they had these bingo cards for the customers to take and fill out at each vendor. Most of the customers were ONLY concerned about the bingo card and getting their free prize. We don't think this helps local vendors at all! Especially lack of spreading the news about said event. We sent them an email regarding our concerns and how this bingo thing wasn't exactly a great idea, especially if the idea is to help out vendors, not just your store. And we also stated was wanted a refund. They wrote back and said that whatever time we have with the customer is on us and that we should "try harder" to sell our products. They denied us our refund and were rude near the end of the email. And they also blamed us for not putting the event out there as to why we didn't get more customers. And whoever customers showed up, were rude and threw the bingo cards at us to stamp while talking to whoever they came with. Tell me, how are you supposed to sell an item to people who aren't even acknowledging you're there? Mind you, we've gone to this event a couple times in the past. The first couple of times was fine, since we were getting our foot in the door. But the event before this one, they didn't even make sure to put the correct address on whatever advertising they had. Any time this place tries to do an event, it's very unorganized and A LOT of vendors don't get any sales because of the free door prizes they offer to the people JUST FOR SHOWING UP. I don't think this helps any vendors. It wastes our time and our hard work that we put into getting things ready and set up for such events. This was part of the email that we were sent: "The decision to use the Bingo cards was multifold. Its main purpose is to make sure that our shoppers get to experience ALL of our vendors through the building (not including the store). It also allows people to stop for a moment at your booth. You can do what you want with that moment you have with those customers. The opportunity maybe was not taken to talk about your product or get them involved with your items. That is again unfortunate and reflected in your sales. Even if they were rude to you as you say, it would have been up to you as an ambassador of your created items, to put a smile on your face and turn them around to buy." We've been doing craft shows for a couple of years now and that is not how it should be ran. Other vendors were packing up and leaving the event hours before it ended because it was so slow and they were getting the same treatment. We talked with surrounding vendors(as we always due at events) and they didn't do any better than we did and they were just as frustrated with how bad the turnout was.

We were the only ones there on a Thursday at noon. The sales person was very good with my almost 2 year old while sizing him and finding a good pair of shoes for him. He was very excited about a pair of spiderman slip-on hard-sole shoes (a great transition from robeez). I also found a nice pair of blue shoes with orange detailing (he loves the color orange). Both pairs happened to be on clearance! Two pairs of stride rite shoes only cost us $40! I was expecting to pay $50/pair from this store's reputation. The store also had a lot of toys, activities, stickers, etc. He could have stayed all day just to play in this store. It was difficult to get him to leave! It was a nice day, so we walked around the mall with his new shoes on. He really seems to love them and no tripping! I was surprised for transitioning from soft-sole to hard-sole shoes. Florsheim men's tux plain-toe oxfords. After we compared them to two other pairs of similar shoes on Nordstrom's site, we decided to go with the Florsheim shoes from Macy's. We placed the order through Macy's and it was fulfilled by this Florsheim facility in Glendale, Wisconsin. The shoes cost $110 plus $9.79 in sales tax, so $119.79. Standard shipping was free. The shoes arrived in less than a week. As soon as I unboxed them, we were both immediately impressed with the look of the shoes. They looked just as good in person as they did in the professional pictures on the website. However, we all know the true test is the fit. I've returned or exchanged numerous shoes over the years because, while the shoes looked great, they did not fit great. To my delight, these shoes fit well on the first try. I was pleasantly surprised and happy. I used the "True Fit" feature on Macy's website -- I entered in info about a couple shoes I already owned (brand and size) and the True Fit feature recommended what size I should order these particular shoes in. It worked. If you see True Fit while shopping for shoes online, I highly recommend taking advantage of it. It can save you time and hassle later. The lacing was uneven on one of the shoes so that was annoying. Out of the box, the shoes came with the standard and common criss-cross lacing style, but my wife changed them to the neater and cleaner-looking straight bar lacing style. The shoes look perfect. They fit well and are comfortable too with Memory Foam insoles. These aren't my first pair of Florsheims, but they are the first in a long time. They knocked it out of the park with this order.

While I like their products, their shipping program is very poor. My online order appears to have been shipped from a foreign outsource--so now I will be billed for a "Cross-border Fee." If I had been aware of this, I wouldn't have purchased their shoes. My UPS (United Parcel Service) delivery was scheduled for this afternoon and I tracked it digitally for the past week. I made sure that I was home for my delivery. No delivery was even attempted by UPS. They transferred my delivery to the USPS (United States Postal Service) and no tracking numbers or operators that I've called can tell me where my package is or where I can pick it up. Obviously, I won't be sitting at home all weekend for an unscheduled "second" delivery attempt--when the first delivery wasn't even attempted. Very poor form. Perhaps I need to buy my shoes from Red Wing or Wilcox. I wear high-quality boots too--I'll think twice before subsequent purchasing of Florsheim Shoes online.
