These guys are just standing around talking, actively ignoring customers. One guy talked a lady out of buying a pair of shoes (as a gift) for her daughter. I finally just used the kiosk, 20 minutes later, they didn't have the size even though inventory appears on the kiosk. I asked for half a size smaller. 10 minutes later, they brought out the size i originally asked for but only one shoe and dissappeared. I looked around, found the 2nd shoe on display and just took it. Good grief I did not want to wait around for almost an hour to buy ~$300 worth of shoes. Do better Dicks! read more

Dicks sporting goods @ the Woodlands Mall The customer service in the shoe department is lacking. I was there yesterday with my three daughters who all needed tennis shoes for the start of school. We picked out some and glanced to a group sales associates standing together talking and one of them just pointed towards a kiosk. No "good morning" "how can I help you", nothing. So we left and went down to Foot Locker and purchased three pair of shoes. One good thing.....for my three teenagers, it was a teaching lesson on customer service. read more

This is a large location. It's clean and employees are friendly. My biggest issue is with the selection and pricing. The bike selection is severely lacking and both REI and Academy have a larger selection, even in smaller stores. Camping is the same. There is nothing for hunting. Prices are better at Academy as well. They do have a large selection of Yeti and Stanley cups, if that's your thing. In the future I'll be going to either REI or Academy. read more

Today's experience was good and bad. We needed to get some sneakers for my daughter and I approached one of the employees in the shoe department for assistance. He didn't even look at us and said he will assist us when he gets a chance. I walked towards a lady that was also assisting on the floor (this sweet young lady's name starts with the letter M). She smiled and helped us immediately. Then we went to pay. The middle aged lady never greeted us nor looked at us. Like customer service is a thing of the past here. Disappointing. read more

The store is nice, clean, and well stocked. However, it was disorganized and looked like I would expect it on Dec 23rd. Sizes and products all mixed, nothing folded and in its place. I would have probably overlooked this BUT given the fact there were only 5 people in the store and when I asked for help on a size, the clerk pointed to an area and said "It's probably over there.", I had to let my feelings be known. Retailers! Listen up! You are dying on the vine. Any person that walks in your store and picks up an item should be ushered to the checkout stand with all assistance made available! I quickly dropped the item I was looking at and stood right there and ordered it online in the size I needed. Let's go back to the good all days when sales people in retail stores were paid on commission! Dick's are a good fit in Houston, and this Dick's isn't too big and isn't too small. Some people think the larger Dick's are better, but sometimes it's just too big. I'm at the Willowbrook Mall as we speak, and there is a Dick's and as I said before I usually only go to the sporting goods store if it's an emergency and there isn't much else that I can get. Discount stores and online are much cheaper and much better. But right now I need something for the gym and I need it now so I'm glad this Dick's is here. read more

This store is amazing ! So big and beautiful from workout gear to golf and hunting gear. It's truly convenient to shop here for whatever your choice in sports is, or if you need those rugged heavy duty work boots. It's like a showroom as you shop and it's so organized! I love the woman's golf section I don't play but they have a big selection and the skirts are super cute. They have a huge yeti selection as well. And lots of staff to help you make the purchase you will be most pleased with. read more

The isles are a little claustrophobic. I had to keep asking their team members where certain items were located. Unfortunately, team members were far and few between on the first level. The second level was better organized, less cluttered with plenty of staff. The staff was super helpful on the second level. They made such great suggestions and even went to their back inventory room to bring back merchandise we might like. We ended up buying an Ethos weighted vest We really went in looking for 2XXL clothing for my husband is 6'4", they do not carry enough for his size. We spent the rest of our entire time there seeking out clothing for him...found 1 shirt he fancied. On the up side, the cashier gave us 15% off for being a Yelper! read more

I was having trouble with the gears on my bike, so I brought it to Dicks Sporting Goods bike repairman - Mark Garcia who says, "Our house is your house " He made me feel right at home with the awesome service he provided for my bike. When I brought it in, he was able to service it right away. I really appreciated the help and will be bringing my bike back for a tune up when it's time. read more

I bought a bicycle from Dick's on Christmas Eve. Since it was going to be a gift for my son, I decided to ride it in the parking lot to ensure everything was working. The gears had trouble changing, so I took it back inside to have them adjusted. I took it back outside and found that it worked a little better, but still had issues. I took it back inside to be adjusted again. The guy putting the bikes together and making the adjustments asked if I had purchased the extended warranty. I told him I did not, however, I just purchased the bike. He then told me he did the best he could. If I'm paying over $500 for a bike, I expect it to function properly. I think the guy did the best he could, it they need to give him the proper training. While I was there, several people came back to have similar adjustments made. read more

Only been here once, but Dick's is certainly the sporting goods world's answer to Bass Pro Shops. Mega store. We were buying shoes, and they certainly have a good selection, though the "dramatic display" layout doesn't lend itself to efficiency. Nevertheless, despite all the showiness, the shoes we would were cheaper than Academy in the end, so Dick's may have some play in our family's future shopping. read more

So Dick's is currently sitting at 2 stars so now I don't feel half bad on my 1 star review. I admit this place has large variety of items and numerous types of offers and discounts found all over the store. However they don't match the prices and offers at the register. I've shopped here 3 times and each time it's taken me about 15-30 min to check out because every customer ringing out at the register has to explain that the price rung up is not what was offered out on the sales floor. So the cashier has to call someone and verify. Here I am the 4th time and yup - we have to verify - one thing I noticed is they don't have a display to show you the price for each item they scan- they just give you a total and expect you to pay. So if you come and shop here please take note of what you are paying before heading to checkout even take a photo of the sign stating any discount - it will help them at the register verify at a faster pace. read more

First time passing by, yesterday evening. I was looking for a bike to buy for my little brother. I forgot the name of the associate but he went above and beyond to help us out. He was kind and enthusiastic about the job, Helped us decide which bike to get, all the specs and suggestions. What helmets, lights, etc. Answered all my questions. He even installed the kick stand on the spot. He even told us about its maintenance. My brother LOVES his new bike and we feel even more reassured now knowing we bought it with the help of the Dicks associate, I don't have his name down unfortunately, wish I did, but we're glad he was there. Horrible customer services at the Willowbrook mall location. I wish I could give zero stars. Went there to buy my son some running shoes and the girls working the registers next to the entrance of the mall were horrible. Never once acknowledging customers, talking only amongst themselves but loud enough that customers could hear their conversations and making derogatory remarks. When I got up to the register, the girl had her back turned to us the whole time never saying a word only talking to other employees and laughing. I told her that I was not able to enter my phone number for reward points she said oh "it doesn't work on this register you'll need to get back in line and use that register to check out" which was the register next to hers. So we got back in line, when we got back in line and waited the other girl at "that register" was even worse. I had a coupon and I asked her if I could use it? She never answered me only asked the employee at the register (we just left) next to her if she could use it? The girl told her I don't think so. So then the girl whispering but loud enough so we could hear says " I'm just just gonna try it to shut her up.." when I heard this I asked her what did you say? She said oh I was talking to the other employee. I then asked to speak to the manager who was one of the girls, who was also up at the registers laughing and witnessing this horrible behavior. The girl proceeds to tell the manager that "I was all up in her mouth" and the manager says just calm down. She told her she would take care of us and gave us 20% off our purchase. I told the manager I didn't think these girls should be working up here at the checkout registers with those horrible attitudes. She just said "she wasn't the manager for that department, that the manager was upstairs." I asked her if I could have his number she said "she didn't know it, I would have to go to Dick.com and I could get the number to the store" I asked her if she could give me the number to the store and she said "she didn't know it." Sad to say that Dick's just lost our business we will not be returning there. I've never experienced such terrible customer service. read more

I went into this Dicks location the Saturday after the completion of the World Series. I was in the market for Houston Astros World Series Championship swag. Previously, I had tried their competition, but did not see much of. Championship gear, just regular season apparel. Their selection of championship swag was very good. I had heard that the prices at Dicks was higher than their competitors, but I found when shopping for shoes, I was comparing apples to oranges. read more

I ordered a pair of shoes to be shipped to the store since they didn't have the size I need. The employee that put the order in for me gladly took the time to help me when the shoe department was clearly busy. There was trouble with USPS shipping and I had to wait a few extra days to get my order, BUT management went above and beyond to get my shoes to me. The manager spent a lot of time on the phone w USPS and followed up with me afterward. I don't think I've ever had a retail store help me out so much. That's a huge statement right there. read more

Lots of false advertisement on prices, such as stating that their old Nike polo's are $45 but once you go through the long line they tell you it's $70. Plus shoes are way over priced and the customer service was awful so I definitely won't be coming back. read more

I am outraged. This so called "Establishment" should be ashamed of itself. I walk in to Dicks thinking "Ok my putting game has been a little off, but this is where I can fix it" I casually stroll over to the escalator, ride it to the top story, and meander over to the green. Here's where it gets bad; to my devastation there were no balls laying out, not a single one. So I have to walk over to a worker there and when I ask him for one, he says "Sorry we don't leave them out for kids who are gonna jack around". Excuse me? I'm sorry you blew you're golfing career out of the water and ended up working full time at a subpar sporting good store. So I walk over to the green with the balls I just difficultly acquired, and begin to work on my stroke. After about a minute, that same troublesome employee strolls over and begins to scold/stare me down, clearly beckoning me to get off. I'm just minding my own business, working on my game, and apparently that's causing some sort of disturbance to the store. Unbelievable that Dicks hires people like that, rude and incompatible.
