Ever been Ghosted?? I feel like this shoe is "ghosting" me. I come to visit her in an 8.5, and she's never here in stock.

This review is not meant to deter, put a bad name or influence you to not shop at Dick's, but just an honest opinion about my recent experience this holiday season. ---------------------------------------------------- This holiday season (2020) I made my way over to Dick's Sporting Goods on multiple occasions in search of a specific Christmas gift, but unfortunately had no luck even after several visits to this location. Is it their fault? Absolutely not! Am I to take blame for procrastinating just a few weeks before Christmas? 100% guilty as charged. My only wish is that Dick's had the ability to know what product was coming in future shipments and/or having more in-tune salesperson(s) to assist in sourcing items that are out of stock. I felt their lack of really trying to source the item on my behalf by simply looking at a computer screen and giving me the "sorry we are just sold out" routine didn't show the above and beyond customer service that all of us expect to receive. After several attempts in stopping in at this location, I decided to call other Dick's within drivable distances, but the shoe I was in search for just seemed to just be sold out even from their website. Sadly for Dick's, due to the overall lack of stock in the item I needed (a women's pair of Brooks Ghost 13 running shoes purple/black), I landed up ordering the shoes from a 3rd party website (Zappos) and thankfully received them by Christmas Eve. Again, I completely understand that we are in unprecedented times and stock levels may very well be low due to the pandemic and the strain on supply and demands, but Dick's could benefit from having a better inventory system to share with customers when product will physically be arriving in future shipments. Even having the ability to transfer from other stores or sourcing from other locations even if out of state and having the item shipped directly to the customers home would be a start. These are just a few ways Dick's can improve their customer experience(s) and improve their overall sales going forward. ---------------------------------------------------- Despite having no luck with what I came in for, I did find a few things for myself and on sale which was even better. I picked up 3 different men's flannels and they look and wash great! Normally $29.99, I picked up 3 for $9.99 each and they are definitely going to be used often as we head into winter. At the end of the day... I wish nothing but the best for Dick's Sporting Goods in Thousand Oaks and I will absolutely continue to be a customer for all my sporting and outdoor needs.

I shop at the Big 5 Sporting Goods located in Thousand Oaks ,Ca. on a regular basis and have done…read moreso for at least a decade.I go there to buy certain items that I need for work that are hard to find at a reasonable price elsewhere without sacrificing quality.I don't want to spend a large sum if money on a high end pocket knife in which I am going to beat up and eventually break at my work.Big 5 runs Good ads and if your patient you can get a great deal on a nam e brand item, for a much lower price than the department stores. This is thier buidness and that'd why I shop there.Often times I run in for a nice knife and end up purchasing a a flannel or a couple work shirts, flashlights etc...I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this as well have many of my friends,co-workers and family in this community. Thus far,any minor problems or disgretions I have encountered over the years have been swiftly and professionaly resolved by either the clerk who was helping me or by a nearby helpful manager. It is a terrible reflection on those hard working diligent proffessionals, the incident which occured today when I was trying to pay for my product.I waited patiently in line to have a couple of knives shown to me which are kept locked up on a display case for obvious reasons.I will say that, being in the retail business for over 15 years myself,I would give the stores pricing accuracy an F or maybe even bordering criminal fraud as far as wrong prices,no prices or the just don't know and are not going to bother to even try to find out for you.I would say 75 percent if ALL Thier knives on display, have no prices at all on the shelf tag or knife itself. When I tried to incure a couple of unpriced knives,I was met with a bad attitude and snyde remarks which made me feel unimportant, unwanted and unappreciated as a customer.I know that retailers rely on student workers in thier workforce but come on man this kids chest barely reached the top of the counter. His beard was,I believe, parts of a cheap drugstore Holloween costume, and he was dressed like a 7th Grader.Sorry, maybe it was take your child to work day but I shouldn't have to babysit the clerk or reprimand the clerk assissting me at the local sporting goods store.O.K.. Bottom line is he couldn't break a 100 dollar bill at 4 o'clock in the afternoon after bring open for buisness for at least 5 or 6 hours on a very busy day.He looked at me like I was a nutcase for even handing it him which I almost didn't want to do considering he could not of been a day over 14 years old and I questioned whether he even knew what the was or had ever seen one before.I thought he was gonna start crying and said he absolutely not break such a large o it too high of a risk.I said then please call a manager at which time he told me he was. That I know us against the child labor act !!! To begin with, then he started childishly bickering with me and threatened to tell his mommy,I mean manager on me if I didn'te apologize to him.I just wanted to buy the product at this point but was refused services and I left the store promptly.I asked the REAL manager on duty for the General Store Manager and District Manager's names and was told was the CEO Of the entire company. And refused to give me futther information. From now on,I will be shopping at Dicks. At least they are not such pussies.Thank you again Big Dive !!! For absolutely nothing !!!! Sincerely Robert Jackson. Mistreated Customer at Big 5 Sporting Goods in Thousand Oaks,Ca.

A very conscientious and thorough business. I was very impressed. Will definitely go backread more

If it were possible to leave 10 stars I would. I have been searching for a particular gun since…read more2018 when they first came out and were legal in CA. Today I called this business for the first time, and I am simply blown away (no pun intended). This is a "one man show" business (like mine is), and Courtland (the owner) wears all hats. Of course you must make an appointment (like most other gun stores since the China virus arrived), but I would imagine this is Courtland's regular policy, as is THE only guy. Although I have not yet purchased from him, this will be my exclusive gun shop from now until if or when I leave CA. As you speak with Courtland you immediately recognize that he is extremely knowledgeable (as you might hope since he IS the store owner), and he seems to be an extraordinarily straight shooter. If he had what I was looking for I would be there now to purchase it. But like so many other gun stores, his inventory is quite limited at the moment. However, Courtland is happy to try to locate the gun you are looking for with his 4 distributors, plus other websites like GunBroker.com, and he will notify you and order the gun the next day upon arrival. The majority of Courtland's customers seem to be in law enforcement, but he also sells to non-professionals (by appointment). When I asked him about the best personal carry semi-auto pistol he would recommend, he told me his first choice. However, when I NEXT mentioned that I MAY relocate to Arizona, he switched his recommendation to a different gun due to the fact that it could also receive a much larger magazine as compared to CA. He is also going to call all 4 of his distributors, and if they don't have one they will order it notify him once received. WOW! I have been looking for this particular gun for over 3 years, and have called numerous other stores, and this is the ONLY dealer who not only gives you the time of day, but in fact WORKS for you to help you to find what you are looking for. At this point I am happy reminded of what a similar store might look like back in Mayberry in 1966. I would imagine that this is the type of service I MIGHT expect, but never in these times! This is now the ONLY gun store I will do business with as long as I stay in CA! THANK YOU COURTLAND, AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!
