The employees are super friendly and very accommodating, which I loved. Their selection is a bit limited compared to the bigger boot barn locations but in contrast to some smaller ones it's pretty great. Their sale racks are always full of cool stuff. As far as value goes, you pay for quality which boot barn offers so it's definitely not a cheap store to visit or buy things from; especially if you want good boots.

There was just a lady working the store and I even asked her if the store gets busy because the whole Simi Valley Town Center is like a ghost town. The worker told me it's usually quiet now. The store isn't that big inside but it works for them. The worker told me about their current sales going on. I looked at their shoes and clothing but nothing stood out to me when I was there. Sadly, like most of the iconic businesses from my youth, Payless ShoeSource filed for bankruptcy and the famous footwear brand went under. Besides the cool shoes that I could pick out on my own... What I loved most about Payless... (Or should I say what my mom or dad who were paying loved most)... Was.... The infamous B.O.G.O offer: Yeah!!! The Buy One, Get One for 50% off deal!!! Aww yes, the good 'ol' days! --------------------- Fast forward 30 years... And now, I am a parent, a Dad who now has the honor to buy shoes for my own, three beautiful daughters as they gear up for the school year. But sadly there's no Payless ShoeSource to be found. ------------------- Enter the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse!!! Yeah, things have changed a lot since the 90's. Now, instead of shopping at a small-box shoe store with maybe 6 aisles of footwear... We enter the Big-Box shoe warehouse with aisles and aisles of every style of shoe you can think of. But if you're looking for those cool "skater" Airwalks or those Rugged Outback work boots like I used to rock in the 90's pretending I was in Timbaland's crew... You ain't gonna find 'em. Like I said, things have changed! Instead of shopping off-brand shoe brands that back in my day were able to hold their own on the playground... My kids are getting name-brand shoes that I just pray stay clean enough to last them the entirety of the school year. And let's not start on the comparison of prices then vs now. The Nikes you want are how much?? You are 5 and going into Kindergarten girl! June 29th I went shopping with my Mother and aunt for dresses to attend a destination wedding in Italy in August. Golchin the associate was attentive and made the last stop of the day the best one. We purchased 3 dresses that day , were asked if we were members of their rewards program. Politely we declined as this was not a place we'd usually shop at. Happy with our choices we departed. Now we're 1 week from the wedding & my dress is unable to be altered in time to wear. With receipt in hand & card used for payment I went to return the dress. Nothing wrong with the dress I actually love the dress but it just isn't going to work. Golchin assisting another customer greeted me and acknowledged my intention to return an item. Once the transaction began I was asked for my phone number, zip code and she was unable to locate my purchase in her computer. I presented her with the receipt, a statement from my bank with the purchase and the card used in the transaction. Only to be told since we declined to sign up for their membership I was only going to be able to receive store credit. Not only was I not made aware of this prior to the purchase, I have never had an associate dismiss my inquiries with a simple shrug and there's nothing I can do. I feel like this is the reason brick and mortar stores are becoming obsolete. I hope since corporate does read & respond to 5 star reviews mine is also given the attention that it deserves.
