Dicks is always a great place to find your sporting goods and your athletic apparel. My kids love to beg to come here. Even when I say they can't get anything they don't mind just coming to browse for when they do need new equipment and apparel. The prices can be a bit shocking on some items but they do run sales, which I find great buys. The service can be a hit or miss but you will always be able to find someone to help. Okay, I'm officially hyped. I've lived in Southern Maryland long enough to know that getting my hands on quality tennis gear meant a drive up to Rockville or Baltimore or doing the online dance between Tennis Warehouse or Tennis Express . But no more! The Dick's Sporting Goods in Waldorf has officially stepped up their game, especially in the shoe department. They're now carrying some serious footwear for athletes... shoes like Hoka, Lotto, Prince, and more! Whether you're out on the tennis court or playing pickleball, you no longer have to leave SOMD to find the right kicks. I'm talking real performance shoes, not just your typical gym shoes. If you're looking for shoes that actually support your game and you live in SOMD, this is the spot. Big shoutout to Tavion (or was it Trayvon? My sincerest apologies if I got it wrong!) for being so knowledgeable and taking the time to walk me through their massive selection. He was super helpful and really seemed to know his stuff. I'm one of the many tennis players that dwell in SOMD, and we needed a better local provider. And while their tennis equipment selection may not rival that of a dedicated pro shop, it's more than enough for beginners and intermediate players. Plenty of rackets, balls, and accessories to get your game going without breaking the bank. All in all, I'm seriously impressed with what Dick's Sporting Goods in Waldorf has done here. I went to this Dicks to check out the golf section as I am looking for a set of new irons. The man at the front desk with reddish blond hair was super helpful and really great. He helped introduce me to what type of irons I should be looking at for my golf game as it progresses. The store was slightly empty maybe because the store associates are not very engaging with the customers. Retail is about customer service making customers feel welcomed and excited to be entering your establishment. There is no greeter at the front door. Nobody ever asked me in a 2 hour span in the store "How Can I Help You". Every store associate has their cell phone in hand walking fast as though they are busy but, they aren't helping anybody. For some strange and I know reason when I walked into Rockville DSG they new I needed help . I was in and out the store with everything I needed in 30 minutes. In Waldorf you gotta wait 40 minutes for shoes. In Waldorf you are on your own. Waldorf DSG Store Manager where are you? Management is chilling in the back with their feet up while you pay for shotty service. You don't owe DSG anything. If I spend my hard earned money in your store and you can't help me find socks. This store is always neat, clean and recovered. I usually know what I want before I go but when I have needed the help of the staff they have been great. They are always informative and ready to answer any questions I have. As I said in the beginning the store is neat and clean. Always seem to have all sizes and styles I am looking for. (This review only applies to their in-store repair service) Communications is critical for customer service. Unfortunately this Dick's dropped the ball big-time. We bought a floor model elliptical with the agreement that Dick's would fix a few broken bits. 2-months later, and 6 trips back to the store, we gave up and had them refund the purchase. During all that time, Dick's never reached out to us. we never got a call or email regarding whether the parts were on order, in the store, being installed, etc. Every other weekend we grabbed our paperwork and trekked into the store hoping for the best. Terrible experience!! The apparel manager Tammy is an idiot. She is incompetent of her job and needs to be terminated immediately!
