This has been our "neighborhood" Wildwood, grocery for the past 25 years. It's convenient - that's it - it's convenient. It feels like the step child of other Dierbergs and is more frustrating than not. Why? The service- other than a few of the holdovers as cashiers and deli staff no one seems to care. There is no passion, no enthusiasm, a total who gives a sh... attitude. When Terry, the manager of many years left, things went downhill. He came back and things improved. After he retired it has never been the same. When have I seen a manager walking the store greeting customers?? Never anymore. When do I get a greeting or a thank you from the self check-out person ... hardly ever ... only from the people who worked with Terry. Meat department ...you feel like you are a bother. The deli is great, but this Dierbergs is limited and the hours don't make sense. If you are working and want to grab off the hot bar.. forget it. Nothing left after 4:30. Not a fan of the Dierbergs brand meat and have switched to Schnucks for Dietz and Watson. Produce vs Schnucks. No comparison. Under ripe fruit, no salad bar and basically and unappealing offering. Not to mention prices that are just STUPID! Then we go to the bakery with EVERYTHING frozen or frozen and the. Thawed. Do customers notice and for the prices YES we do, and we say NO THANK YOU. I always paid the extra price for Dierbergs customer service and excellent quality's. Then they decided to become Walmart and deliver crap quality-not for me. Then they decided to become a Straub's with same or less quality with higher prices .. NO. I only shop at Dierbergs for convenience, but every time I go I to this store I ask myself why am I here?!! And spending incredible prices??!! What drives a customer to this store? It used to be the checkers who I knew and knew their stories, their lives. It was the store that wanted to help and make sure I felt welcomed- a manager, or even managers who recognized me and said hello. Now, we have gates to get our carts through, no salad bar, frozen bakery items and a second tier produce department with frozen or old fruit. Do I enjoy giving this type of review for a brand that I so long loved? No. But it's the truth and Bob Dierbergs needs to read this and see how his customers of over 59 years feel. read more

I used to love shopping here. The employees were always friendly, helpful, and made the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Something seems to have changed, and now nearly every staff member seems miserable and unapproachable. The bagging situation is especially frustrating. It looks like they've completely eliminated baggers, and cashiers don't offer even the smallest bit of assistance with moving items from the conveyor belt into your cart. Shopping here has gone from convenient and pleasant to exhausting and impersonal. It's a shame because it used to be a store I genuinely looked forward to visiting. I hope management takes steps to improve employee morale and customer service because right now, it's hard to justify coming back. read more

Dierbergs in Wildwood is horrible. it used to be clean, stocked items, and never purchased an expired or bad product. Not Now... Twice in a month, I purchased 2 items...expiration date 6/4/24, 7/24, open the bags, and boom...mold. called the store, and the manager is rude, very rude. The incident before that I let go. I bought steaks, and they were in the rack that said 2/10. When I went to check out they were 11.50 ea. I asked the cashier why they were not ringing up 2/10. She called the meat manager, and he said that they were not the ones that were on sale, but they were in the sale area Rack, and labeled. He said someone might've put them there. I walked back to the meat department with them and showed them there was about 30 of them in the rack. You pay what your sign says...Mr. Manager that is your mistake. Dierbergs bakery does not live up to Dierbergs' standards that the rest of store offers. For example, I do not want a semi-frozen fruit pie from Tippins that has a horrible filling texture when thawed. The pies are disgusting. The donuts are not much better. Basically, the bakery is the weak link at Dierbergs. read more

I was amazed at all of the workers and vendors in the store without masks. I have been a long Dierbergs customer who will shop elsewhere.

This is my favorite Dierberg's location. It's the one furthest to the west and I've been stopping here when I'm on my way out to my farm in the country for probably 10 years. It's a regular store but for some reason has a small town feel. I know some of the employees have been here the entire 10 years I've been going. It's nice to see that! They had all the best prime flavors, including lemonade, strawberry, watermelon, and much more. I was very thrilled with the selection and all around the store. The only downfall is we cannot get into the smart water mobile that was in the back of the store. I like this Dierbergs way better than target. my kids were so excited and thrilled with their trip to Dierbergs and I'm glad they were able to enjoy it. They started jumping up and down when they saw the prime. also, all the workers gave us a 10% off coupon which made our prime drinks cheaper. read more

We have been shopping here for over 10 years and cannot think of a negative issue. Store well organized and easy to locate items. Employees are always friendly and knowledgeable of where to find items. Always clean and decorated for the seasons. Easy parking with level lot and ample space. Very seldom wait long in line. Fresh products on shelves with a good selection. Best of the local Dierbergs and a step above all Schnucks. No relation on any owner or employee, just appreciate good service and willing to share with others. read more

Stopped in here while staying at the Wildwood hotel. What a nice store! Found batteries, some fresh dessert and a great selection of alcoholic drinks, all reasonably priced. The layout of the store is really easy to navigate, and the displays and lighting just make this feel like a great upscale (yet affordable) market. I wasn't pressured to sign up for a savings card of any kind (which when you're traveling, why bother, right?). Clean, well stocked, friendly cashier. 5 stars in my book! read more

Update: 8/13/18 Carrie Gaines has gone above and beyond to make sure I am a valid shopper at Dierbergs. I appreciate the affirmation she gave me to resolve this issue from happening in the future. I shop at this Dierbergs all the time. Never had an issue before. I even like Bobs BBQ too. I try lots of his varieties. Last Monday when I bought shredded turkey meat with bbq sauce I found a huge chunk of plastic (yes plastic!) in my meat. It was in the chewing process. I thought at first it was a hard piece of outer turkey meat, but it wasn't. I was grossed out. Still am. Won't buy Bobs for a while. read more

This Diebergs is terrible. Who doesn't have filets cut on a Saturday evening 4:45? Talked to manager Kristin. She said there was nothing she could do about it. Meat manager was on vacation and the only guy qualified left at 4pm. No one in whole store is qualified to cut meat? Give me a break.. .I'll be taking my business to the Clarkson/Clayton store. I will eat dirt before I shop here. The cashiers are rude and if they do engage in conversation it's usually with the bag boy. My favorite is when I HAVE TO ASK "how are you today?" And they say I'll be better in 5 minutes when I'm off. Their courtesy counter is no better . I asked what aisle an item was because 2 ppl stocking shelves said they didn't know. Customer service sent me to the self check out to ask the employee working there. Frustrating? You bet. Also I get that employees follow rules set my management. I get that. But the last time I bought 2 items with a small cart the cashier asked if there was anything on the bottom of my cart and if so put it on the conveyor belt. Well I like the grocery store but the pharmacy earned 0 stars but that's not an option. In my opinion perhaps the slowest pharmacist with maybe the worst attitude problem of any retail employee I've encountered in my life! Why dierbergs has this person working as a pharmacist I have no idea. The prices are good on the cheap medication I get but I might have to transfer my prescription to another pharmacy to avoid another quick trip turning into an extended stay and wait experience. Seriously did you have to stand around reading emails or whatever you were doing before assisting a customer? With an attitude like that and apparently dierbergs is ok with it (which shocks me because I usually love their employees) so I'm not sure....maybe I'll just go to schnucks....I don't really like schnucks but I guess if employees are gonna be this lazy and slow it's about an even race. It's too bad dierbergs....I never thought the day would come that you'd make me consider shopping elsewhere. This Dierbergs is less than 5 minutes from our house and I used to frequent it weekly. Customer service here has really gone downhill in the last few years. I have now switched over to Schnucks or I make the drive into chesterfield and go to Trader Joe's. There are never enough people bagging groceries, if there is anyone at all. Dierbergs charges a premium for groceries, and I shouldn't be expected to bag my own, especially when I have several hundred dollars worth of groceries in my cart. About 4 months ago my husband and I tried to put our infant daughter in a cart. The straps were broken so we switched to another. That one too had a frayed and broken strap. We tried a 3rd cart. That too was broken. We went through 10 carts (!!!!) before getting one with a functioning safety strap. During this entire process there were 2 female upper management employees fiddling with a display and clip board not 2 feet away. I pointed the issue out to them. One if them said she thought they had been replaced already and told the other woman to make a note to get them replaced. So we take a several month break from Dierbergs and then returned to see if anything had changed. Nope. The child safety straps on the carts were the same dirty, broken and frayed ones as before and we had to go through multiple carts to find one that was functional. Walk into any Target and the carts all have CLEAN and working child safety straps. Seriously ridiculous as these cannot possibly cost more than a dollar each. Again on this visit we were expected to bag our own groceries. If you are going to eliminate baggers in order to cut costs, that's fine, but then lower your prices and I'll lower my expectations. Until then, we are shopping elsewhere. This location has had many opportunities to keep my business and has failed. I won't be going back. read more

Coming from Chicago to make a quick run in this store was great! The store was clean and the prices weren't bad at all but I am use to Chicago so people in the area may think differently. The staff was friendly and when I go back to Missouri I will not hesitate to go this grocery store! read more

Poor selection and outrageous pricing schemes that target specific customers' favorite products from this "neighborhood store". I think the most annoying thing here is how there are all kinds of food products, and even cat treats, which have been on the shelf that are up to 2 years expired. I even got meat from behind the counter the other day that was rock hard and old. No employees care here. Go down the street to Schnucks and get a 2-star experience instead of this 1-star. read more

Pretty poor for Dierbergs. We have come many times (Because its close). But just can't stomach it anymore. What's the problem here? Terrible selection of "products". I usually come in, walk around with a cart, can't find what I need, and leave abandoning said cart in store in a fit of pity and disgust. Then find what I need at Schnucks down the street. So this is our local grocery store. When they first opened, we were thrilled. The quality and variety of the products as well as the service was outstanding. But something happened about a year ago ... the store is not managed well. The classic example of this is that they never have chicken thighs when we try to get them. Our latest attempt was 4 pm on a Sunday so this isn't a case of us coming in too late. Now there are always an over abundance of boneless skinless chicken breasts. Since there is just as many thighs as there are breasts in the world, it just doesn't make sense. And don't tell us that it is all about what the market wants. They run out all the time; clearly they are not ordering correctly!! This is one of many examples of products we want that we can no longer get. This Sunday when this happened, we rang the butcher shop bell to ask if they had any in the back. THE BUTCHER SHOP WAS CLOSED AT 4 PM!! We love Dierbergs in general but this store is not well run. We have begun to go to Clarkson and Clayton more now. They are better stocked and run. read more

I give it only 2 stars because they don't have a lot of food for gluten free and dairy free people like me.

I would like to give zero stars, but 1 is the minimum. Have been shopping here for years, each week is 2 shopping trips, and each trip is around $200. Well, no more. I only shopped here since it's close to home. Was treated piss poorly the other day. I can't believe that an employee that I actually know and used to have a good raport with would be so damn rude. Didn't even want to send someone to the courtesy counter to get cigarettes for me. Was told I had to bag my own groceries. What was my infraction? I didn't have a mask with me. Why weren't they mandating masks during the beginning of the pandemic when it was really bad and first came to be? Seems like it's virtue signalling and pandering at this point. It also seems like incompetence from Dierbergs since it wasn't mandated from the beginning. I'll go to Walmart and actually save money too, and be able to get other items as well.
