Great selection of vegan and gluten free items. The specialty chocolates were tasty AND tasted just like the flavor they were supposed to. The muffin mix was good but had the gluten free crumbly texture you come to expect. The cream puff was awesome--the gluten free texture worked on this one. Chocolate chip cookies--yum. Finally the mousse was a delicious treat as well. I would (& have) return(ed)!

Absolutely hands down the best gluten free bakery I've come across in the tri-state area. The muffins are moist, soft and have that perfect crumble. The cream puff was divine. We also tried the peanut butter cake which was also the perfect combination of sweet, and moist. This bakery reminded us of very good French bakeries in our past pre-gf. From the moment you go in, the environment and space is so welcoming. They have so much and the service is top notch. Aside from baked goods, they have ice cream sandwiches, edible cookie dough, frozen bread and goodies. They also have chocolate, flour mixes and souvenirs. I am thankful we don't live nearby because I'd have a hard time not going a few times a week. There's also plenty of parking and it got two thumbs up from non-gf eaters and from kiddo.

I hate to provide a low rating for a small bakery but... it just wasn't good. The place is cute and clean with a minimal selection of baked goods. It ranges from parfaits, to cake slices to macrons. They had a section of fancy homemade chocolate which were gorgeous. They were pretty pricey which is understandable because they're gourmet. They make great presents. My family had a slice of the chocolate cake with strawberry and it was dense with little to no flavor. It just taste like pure sugar. We then had a slice of the red velvet cheesecake which taste like a regular slice of cheesecake but alot sweeter. We also had two macarons that didn't have the texture of a macaron or the flavor that it was advertised as. It was just sweet. The coffee didn't taste like coffee and the the berry didnt taste like berries. We didn't even finish them. Most items are beautiful... the flavor is lacking.

Cream puff and chocolate mousse soooo dreamy!

Wooooooo whatever you were looking for, this is it. Bangin' desserts, so many options, entire place dedicated gluten-free. Hello dream bakery. DAMN. I got the cream puff (eek! Haven't had a cream puff in YEARS and it was sooo good), a macaron, and chocolate mousse. I think the cream puff was my absolute favorite partially because I've had macarons and mousses and all that, but gf puffs are very hard to find. Do they have croissants? That is my strongest desire. I haven't had a croissant since, like, idk 2016. Everything got 5 stars. Staff gets 5 stars, too! Wish I lived closer, can't wait to come back.

Awesome gluten free bakery! I picked up this custom cake for me nephew, who has celiac. I was blown away but the beautiful design! The ordering process was so easy and the cake came out absolutely perfect for his truck themed party. I've visited Different Blend Bakery before to pick up some sweets and absolutely loved them. As someone who transitioned to gluten free as an adult and has a big sweet tooth, I can testify that these baked goods are exceptional, gluten free or not! You would never know that all these products are gluten free and they have a wide variety of baked goods as well as some frozen items, granola, chocolates etc. whether you are gluten free or not, you need to check out Different Blend! I only wish they had more locations to even a pizza place in addition to their bakery :)

Ever since Greulich's closed down, my family and I have been waiting to see what would happen with this space. When we heard that a gluten-free bakery would be starting up here, we were very excited. As we passed by every day, watching the progress on the renovation, we became even more excited. Today (10/24/2015) was opening day, and my daughter and I stopped in to check it out. The two employees who helped us out could NOT have been friendlier. They were excited to be open, and from what they told us, in the four hours since they'd opened, things had been going very well. They told us a bit about the building, and that they're not the ONLY business that's going to be there. They've basically got the front third for the bakery, but there will eventually be a fitness center/gym located in the back, as well as something like a hair salon in the remaining space. Even with just a third of the building, they've got a LOT of room. Right now, things feel a little sparse. They've got one display case/counter near the front of the store, and a couple of shelves in the back, where they had some packaged cookies, some cereal, protein bars, and a cooler for cold drinks and juice. As time goes on, they may put in some seating, but for now, it's take-out only. Hey, one thing at a time. The main counter is on the right as you walk in. That's where they display their cakes, cupcakes, and macarons. We bought a few of each kind of cupcake they were offering -- XXX Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Pumpkin and Cream Cheese with Caramel, and Vanilla Cream Cheese with Caramel (they had just run out of the Vanilla Raspberry). I also grabbed some macarons and a coffee for the road (self-serve). Checkout was simple. They've got a Square Reader, and I had my receipt texted to me. This isn't a muffins, bagels, or croissants kind of bakery (at least not during the first four hours of their existence). They do cakes. You can actually order specialty cakes from their website, which I'll most likely be doing for my wife's birthday next month. Every single item I purchased was beautifully made, and delicious. I'm glad to have this place right in my neighborhood, and I'm looking forward to watching them grow.

I just wish that they had a few more as they were all occupied. It is a beautiful thing to have homemade pastry! I ordered the cinnamon bun, the eclair, the ham and Swiss roll, and the spanakopita turnover. Everything was delicious! My favorite thing was the eclair! It was by far the best declare that I've ever had in my life! And I just have to brag on it a little bit because the cream inside has real vanilla bean in it! It's not only real cream, but it's made with real vanilla bean! You can both taste it and see it in the cream once you bite into the eclair. This was just pure perfection. The least favorite thing that I had was the ham and Swiss roll. My only complaint about it really was that it was a little dry because it needed more Swiss cheese inside. It was still beautiful and flaky with a everything bagel seasoning on top and the ham was also good. Unfortunately, there was just no discernible cheese. So I missed that gooey melty center that I was looking for. I also ordered a chai latte, which they also sell as a iced latte option. It was super hot and tasted lovely! I told the girl at the register that this was my first time, she welcomed me, she answered all my questions and was super nice and accommodating. They ask you if your order is for here or to go and they offered to heat up your pastry for you either way if you were going to be eating it immediately. I thought this was a super kind and intuitive Service! See this is why I just love supporting local businesses. Many of the ones around here are top-notch and I would much rather support them than big conglomerates, monopolies and chains that don't care about their customers or quality products, they just care about profit. If you love, good pastry, then please come check out Leah's!

I am not a Macaron lover, so I bought a key lime blondie, a lemon bar, a caramel drizzle cupcake, and a gluten free raspberry drizzle cupcake. I found the blondie to be rather flavorless, but the lemon bar made up for it by being exactly what I think of when it comes to a good lemon bar. Slightly tart, a nice crust, and just a touch of sweetness on top. The gluten free cupcake was enjoyed by my friend who said it was exceptional. The other cupcake is a treat for my husband. The new owner promised to keep the shop looking the same, and it appears he succeeded. Very nice! Booths were reupholstered in the same dark green color. Photos of Civitello family lined the wall. The ceiling was replaced with an embossed metal one that looks appropriate and like the original ceiling. I went to Civitello's at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 5. The Co-Manager (owner's son) was pleasant and welcoming. I ordered a small Lemon Ice and bought a quart to drop off to my grandchildren. I have been enjoying the Lemon Ice regularly at Civitello's since my childhood. I have even eaten Lemon Ice in Italy. I sat in my car eating the Lemon Ice I had just bought; I ate slowly and with no distractions. The Lemon Ice definitely did not taste the like it did in the past. The texture was the same, but the pure lemon flavor was much less noticeable. Also, there were more tiny pieces of lemon zest in it. This zest did not taste fresh; it tasted prepackaged. I heard many of the family recipes were included in the purchase of the shop. However, I think the Lemon Ice recipe was not given to the new owner. Food-- Pizza (Tomato Pie) was not out yet, and I am eager to return soon see if it is as amazing as I remember it.. After looking at the menu, I asked if Eggplant Sandwiches were going to be available everyday, and he responded yes because the Fryer is now located in the kitchen. Previously, they were served only on Wed. and Fridays because the fryer was outside. Looking forward to having an Eggplant Sandwich, a favorite of mine as well as of many customers. Will it taste the same? Will it be on homemade bread sliced thin? Bakery-- Eclairs looked great. Guy ahead of me bought six. However, I noticed the Butter Cookies did not look as nicely cut out/shaped as before. I did not taste or buy any on this visit. I did not see any almond paste cookies; maybe I overlooked them. The shop was closed on Sunday because they were sold out after the grand reopening, so they may need to restock more of the classic cookies Civitello's is famous for.
