I pre-ordered a Cannoli cake for my daughter's 21st birthday. I ordered two days ahead, with a pick up time for noon. I arrived around 12:40pm to pick up the cake, which clearly was not ready since the young lady could not locate it and disappeared in back for roughly 5 minutes. When she came out she said she had to add the cannolis to the top of the cake. We finally left with our cake around 1pm, with a few other items we purchased out of the case. We returned home and put the cake in the fridge. We proceeded to attempt to eat the cookies we purchased out of the case, which were stale. At 6:30pm we took the cake out of the fridge to celebrate, only to discover the cake was frozen in center! Obviously the cake was taken out of the freezer when I arrived to pick up my cake, so not freshly made!!! Quite embarrassing and disappointing for my daughter. I sent an email that night. I ​called the next morning only to be told to call back they next day to speak with a manager. I called the next morning and spoke with a woman on the phone and told her the issue. She put me on hold while she went to speak with the manage. After 6 minutes on hold, she returned to tell me that hentold her he had my info and he would contact. I was shocked and she could tell, she even seemed uncomfortable telling me this and she kept apologizing. What kind of manager doesn't at least get on the phone and talk to you, even if they say they will look into it and get back to you. Well, that was two days ago, still no phone call or response to the email I sent. Obviously the only thing the Cookie Factory managers care about is taking people's money!! I had been to several events where cake was provided by the Cookie Factory and it was delicious, but I didn't really want to venture out to Troy for a cake. After looking their price and size information up online, they sounded like the best deal and I knew it would taste good. I ordered a half sheet cake large enough for 40 people, with a funfetti base and rainbow sprinkles (yes this was for an engagement party lol). Ordering was easy enough and everyone I spoke to was friendly. The order was placed on a Tuesday and was ready to go on Saturday. The cake looked and tasted delicious and I received a lot of good feedback from the party guests. Frosting was delicious and the inside was super moist. Only small gripe was that I asked for rainbow sprinkles and for some reason, they put red sprinkles on instead. Not a big deal, but just not what I asked for. Decadence. On a level almost beyond my comprehension. I stopped here before Christmas thinking that these things would be a great thing to give to those people in your life that do the little stuff. I was excited to try this place since I had heard about it. Sadly, it was a big disappointment. I got a variety of cookies to try. Chocolate chip, m&m, chocolate chip sandwich, and a special turtle decorated one. The taste of the cookies was off and tasted like old oil and fake butter. How can I have never reviewed The Cookie Factory? They make some of my favorite yeast raised donuts in the area. Here's my hot list. 1) Anything with chocolate frosting. The plain chocolate frosted is my favorite here. The yeast donut shell is just so impossibly light, it's really a perfect vehicle for this fudgy cocoa rich topping. But the Boston Cream is pretty great too. 2) The glazed It's a little non traditional, with some notable citrus in the glaze itself, but man does this shop get that crackle right. And again the light and elastic yeast donut shells are fantastic. They put the industrially produced donuts from the big chains to shame But not everything is great. The famous double dipped donuts are far too sweet. Like, teeth achingly sweet. Like, diabetic coma sweet. Like, there isn't enough milk or coffee in the world to wash these donuts down, kind of sweet. Make the trip up the hill. They've got parking. Get the donuts. And pick up a fudge fancy while you're there too. Just get one from the baking sheet and not one of the pre-packed cookies. I have thoroughly found where to get my cookies! I picked up Fudge Fantasies and These Raspberry cookies at Hannaford as I was looking for something local to buy for a work potluck. They hit the spot! No more store bought cookies, the cookie factory will just WOW you! The fudge fantasies were great, I was expecting a harder cookie but was pleased with the texture. Ordered a cake for a baptism held this past weekend and was impressed with the service and the cake itself. I had never actually been in the store prior to this event, but I had had cakes and cookies at other parties that I remembered being tasty, which was why I decided to go with them for this event. I went in a week before the baptism was held to place the order, and showed the girl working what I was interested in. I needed a cake to feed 80 people, but wanted something in the shape of a cross. This ended up just being priced as a sheet cake with the corners cut out. The owner was standing at the counter while I was there as well, and informed me that they would actually give me the cut out pieces frosted and everything, at no additional charge, which I thought was great. The cake was ready when I went to pick it up and looked and tasted great. I'm downgrading one star because I really wanted the chocolate custard filling, which I ordered, but they were unable to accommodate because of the shape of the cake (wish I had known prior to ordering). Also, I think the writing on the cake could have been a tad bit larger/neater. But the flowers and rest of the presentation were perfect. Multiple people mentioned how good the cake was, so I was relieved it tasted as good as it looked. I went to college in the area and The Cookie Factory made my cake for my party. Delicious. We use to always get pizza dough from them for pizza nights. I was in the area recently and had to stop by. Not much has changed. What a delightful find when randomly driving through the area looking at the foliage! It's in a brick building with a waterfall behind it and plenty of parking. Not being from the area, I'd never heard of the cookie factory but it seems to be a franchise as there are several locations. Cookies. Lots and lots of cookies. That's why you go in! They also have other bakery goodies. We tried an assortment: Chinese almond, some stuffed chocolate ones, turtle brownie and peanut butter and jelly. Every bite delicious. I loved the decorated cookies they had - Hello Kitty, dragons, Halloween ghosts but didn't buy any. The only issue came up when we tried to get some coffee to go along with the cookies. First off, they only have hot (no iced, boo). The woman helping us didn't really seem to understand how to make any flavored coffees. She had a tough time getting any of the flavors to come out and honestly, the coffees were awful. I'm not sure she ever figured it out and may have just given us plain coffee. Cookie prices aren't cheap. For 5 cookies and two coffees it was almost twenty dollars. I'm glad I don't live nearby as I would be here way too often buying cookies! The glazed doughnuts are sweet, soft, and melt in your mouth. The chocolate chip cookies are crunchy and sweet as well. Also, the hard rolls are crispy and flavorful and are great for sandwiches. In contrast, I definitely recommend staying away from the cake here. I tried the chocolate cake, it was dry and the frosting was over the top sweet. I needed a gallon of milk to get it down. Visiting my non-coffee son who recommended I come here for their coffee. The place is overwhelming, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Friendly staff always helped me to make the cake more adorable and it tasted really good!
