This place is run by a Director of Nursing, Mary, who is obviously burnt out. The conversation with her was one sided. She spoke but did not listen. She was unreasonable and it was a total waste of time. Trying to talk to ANYONE there by phone is IMPOSSIBLE. I left messages on every extension they had asking them to call me back, they never did! They sent my wife to the ER without just cause. They indicated that her case was too complex for them and they were not medically capable of handling her and they sent her to the ER to "dump her", instead of admitting they were not capable. There are many choices for Detox and Rehab. Don't choose this one!

This place was recommended to me by someone with a lot of years of sobriety. The owners are some of the best people I have come to know, and do a lot of good for a lot of people. This house is the nicest house on the block, with a spacious driveway, and a beautiful interior, in a quiet neighborhood, in a great location between Lake Worth and Boynton Beach. There is the perfect amount of accountability in this house. There are weekly house meetings where they have you log your activity in the program, and go over your progress. The owners vet all residents, and run background checks to make sure they aren't inviting dangerous or troublesome people to live here. Pay your rent, work a program, stay sober, clean up after yourself, are really the only rules. Which is perfect, because that's what life will be like when you decide to graduate to living on your own again. Maintenance issues were addressed and fixed promptly. I can't recommend this place enough. I have to mention how good the A/C was too. The house was always nice and cool. God forbid I need sober living again... but if I did, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This facility boasted a clean and healthy environment for my friend to recover in. Well that was not the case. My friend stayed as long as he could dealing with a filthy living environment, and a bed bugs infestation. My friend had bites all over his body from these bed bugs, pics attached only to show a few. No exterminators were called to deal with this issue regardless of him reporting to them numerous sores all over his body from the bed bugs. Staff was not helpful when this was brought to their attention...nor were they caring or compassionate. Staff was not consistent at all, they had a huge turnover rate of employees which isn't helpful to a patient at all. They also boast a 12 step program, but they don't follow through with any adequate, professional, or therapeutic care. Once they get you into their program all that matters to them is billing your suffering loved ones insurance provider. Please do your loved ones a favor and find another facility that will actually treat their addiction issues with adequate and appropriate care.

After 3 months I decided this wasn't the job for me and gave notice and that I would finish the day. Mind you I'm supposed to be in training, but on that particular day I'm laying laminate floor in the master bedroom of their home! We agreed I would be part time for training and once completed I would be full time. On Friday May 28th I submitted my hours and receipts for groceries I purchased for the family and the laminate floor I purchased for the families master bedroom at $1.49 square foot with my credit card. YEAP, we installed laminate flooring that cost $1.49 a square foot in a million dollar home! Total receipts and hourly pay due to me comes to $1590 that I still have not been paid for (it's now 2 weeks) After several email attempts I was sent a list of the tasks I worked on, both at the house and at The Palms Recovery and asked to explain what was done and or left off. Mind you I sent all this information as I worked on these tasks including all spreadsheets. But I answered all Victoria's questions. Then I get a reply from Victoria Lopker stating once the research my work they will submit payment! Seriously! Oh wait... there's more. When working at the home I was cleaning 2 glass pendant lights over the kitchen island. While holding the light with one hand and cleaning it with the other each of my hands had contact with metal and I got electrocuted! Obviously the lights blew. I sent an email to the family explaining what happened... no reply, never did they ask if I was ok! Obviously these lamps were not properly grounded during installation. That is the only way someone would be electrocuted if they touched the metal parts of the lamp with both hands. Victoria Lopker also stated in her last email to me that she will deduct the cost of the lamps from my pay since I "broke them" as she claims. I'll keep you all posted as to how they handle my last payment. OH by the way, there are 3 other people that work at the Lopker home, all getting paid under the table, one is an 11 year old child! I'll be curious what the DOL will have to say when I call on Monday, or DCF when I report another matter I noticed while working at the home! I'll keep you posted!

My experience at Beachway was complicated. Parts of the program genuinely helped me, especially the…read moregroups. I learned skills I still use around DBT, emotional regulation, boundaries, slowing down before reacting, and recognizing dysregulation. Being away from home gave me space to focus on myself, and I made meaningful connections with other clients. I expected residential treatment to build on the work I had already done with my outpatient therapist and psychiatrist. I believe I signed releases allowing Beachway to communicate with both. However, my therapist at home was not contacted to establish background or discuss work we had already completed, and she did not receive notes from my Beachway therapists afterward. I am also unsure whether my psychiatric records were reviewed or incorporated into treatment planning. Several individual therapy assignments repeated work I had already done extensively at home. At times, treatment felt more like moving through a predetermined framework than something tailored to my history and progress. I also did not know until later that I could ask to meet with my individual therapist more than once a week. I struggled with how my initiative was sometimes interpreted. After a group on boundaries, I wrote boundaries for my family and asked another therapist to help me review them. I later felt chastised by my primary therapist for doing so and never received the individualized help I had been seeking. When I worked independently on concepts introduced in groups, I felt criticized for "controlling" my own therapeutic journey and was told this likely reflected how I showed up at home or difficulty with trust and interpersonal relationships. I understand therapy should challenge you, but I sometimes felt broad assumptions were being made rather than explored collaboratively. Communication involving my ROI also became a concern. On at least two occasions, my therapist's account of what had been said differed from what my partner told me. In one instance, my therapist attributed a statement to me that I do not remember making. When I tried to clarify these discrepancies, I did not feel they were adequately resolved, which made it harder to feel secure in the therapeutic relationship. I was also uncomfortable with the emphasis on extending treatment. At one point, I was told therapists could tell within about five minutes of meeting someone whether they needed to extend their stay. The pressure around staying longer became stressful and felt like it took time and emotional energy away from making the most of the time I could stay. After discharge, I have had difficulty reaching people, getting necessary documentation completed, and connecting with resources. At the same time, I continue to receive promotional emails for other Beachway programs and retreats, which has been disappointing when follow-up on actual care needs has been difficult. I do not regret my experience. I gained useful skills, benefited from groups, developed greater awareness of my emotional regulation, and grew during my time there. But I believe it could have been much better with stronger coordination with existing providers, more individualized treatment, clearer communication about therapy options and ROIs, and better follow-through after discharge. If you already have an established therapist or psychiatrist, I would recommend asking how they will be involved, whether prior therapeutic work will be reviewed, how often you can meet individually with your therapist, what will be shared with your ROI, and what follow-up support you can expect. I came to Beachway prepared to work hard. My biggest disappointment was feeling that some of that motivation and initiative was treated as something to correct instead of something that could have been used to create a more collaborative, individualized treatment experience.

It is easy to get answers if you have questions and whatever you need the staff gets it done right away. The residents were on the dining room and the set up looks very pretty and the staff are supervising and very attentive to the needs of residents. Staff looks like they are happy to work here.

I had a panic attack just thinking that I had the leave them here. Tomorrow we will figure out a plan to get him someplace better. There isn't even a curtain between the beds! WTF? He's here to get IV antibiotics which as of 3pm have yet to appear. Rumor has it that it has a new owner, and the changes have resulted in extremely poor patient care and employees leaving. They are bad at administering meds and at answering bathroom requests. Everyone moves at one speed, a glacial pace.
