After reading the not so great reviews I decided to call Dillard's to see if they have what I need. The first lady said oh those are all out on the shelf...really? Im calling to ask if you HAVE the one I want before I drive 60 minutes to get there. So she says she will go look. 12 minutes later Im still waiting. Someone else came to the phone and asked what I wanted. I told her I was waiting for the spanish lady to let me know if they have what I want, she didn't even talk to me but put down the phone. 2 minutes later the phone hung up on me. DILLARD'S YOU BETTER GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER OR YOU'LL BE OUT OF BUSINESS. Not only have I received very poor customer service by phone but I know how the ladies feel in the shoe department ZERO help and the employees stand around and get paid to chat with each other. UGH. Went in around 5:45 p.m. Realized they were closing and headed towards the entrance where we entered the store from the mall. When I reached the door to exit the store in to the mall the door was locked. There were about 10 other people there waiting to get out. Traditional department store set up (Macy's like). Great for shoes! I had never been here before but stopped by when I saw they have Merril brand barefoot running shoes. I had already picked up a pair on sale at Dick's sporting goods ($95) which I thought was pretty good. I was happy to find out Dillard's was much better! ($60). They even had an additional color (which for unknown reasons cost $40 more). The staff was helpful. Enjoyed the time there. read more

Dillard's at Arrowhead is one of the better Dillards in AZ as far as men's selection, especially Big & Tall. Nice deals on New Year's day on just about everything 50% off the already marked down sales price, so you're looking at $20ish for a Polo shirt. Service is friendly in my department that I shop, place is clean, and not a lot of riff-raff as far as customers go. Nice. read more

I'm more of a fan of Macy's over Dillards when it comes to most things, however, Dillard's has a better selection of shoes and evening gowns. But why didn't I give them 5 stars? Well that's because of a few things. As stated, they have a much better selection and more variety to choose from but there is a problem with both departments. The shoe department is a hit or miss with customer service. I must not look like I have money because when other people are around, I rarely can get someone to come up to me and ask me if I need assistance. And I'm not shy so I have no problem grabbing a shoe and hunting someone down if I want something. But when I'm standing there patiently waiting for you to finish ringing up the customer so I can ask you to look for a shoe, and some elderly lady cuts me off and asks for assistance, it really ticks me off when you ditch me to help them. Just because they have 20 years on me, doesn't mean I should constantly be shoved aside so you can assist these women. However, when the store is not busy, suddenly I'm being overly harrassed about getting shoes. I either can't get attention so I can purchase shoes when I want to spend money, or I can't get the workers to get away from me. If they would just learn to balance that out, that would be great. Although based on other reviews, we all seem to have the same issue. Now on to the dress part of it. I've recently had a few times where I needed to purchase evening gowns for different events. I searched everywhere online and found that Dillards had a huge selection. I went to the store and sure enough, they did have a HUGE selection of many different dresses. Now the down side. Although they had many different dresses to look at, they had very few sizes in each dress to try on. I must have seen over 40 different evening gowns to choose from but I couldn't try on a single one. The sizes were all really small so unless you were a super model or a teenager that wore a size 2, us normal women couldn't even try the dresses on. The few dresses I found that I could try on were far too big. I would have been swimming in them. There was no happy medium between the two. I either had to be anorexic or very overweight. It would just be nice if they had more sizes to choose from so that you can try the stuff on in the store rather than ordering it online and returning it when it doens't fit or look good. read more

Dillard's is one of the worst store ever....usually I never give 1 star to anyone. Their return policy is sucks. If you go to store their staff is very very rude staff. They don't have any manners to talk. The Staff think that's they are the owners. Their attitude is very inappropriate. read more

Beware Southern Living (Dillard's brand) bath towels. Bought 2 and both unraveled at hemmed edge. 1st one was exchanged with no problem, but when I took in 2nd one, the manager kept me cooling my heels for 20 minutes before having her minion offer me $8.74. All I wanted was to exchange towel, but as it ended up, they no longer had that particular design. Even though the towels at this point are nearly a year old, it's not okay for a $25 towel to unravel. Nor is it okay to blow off a customer as the manager did. The clerk offered a gift cert but I said I wouldn't have much use for roughly $10 in a store I no longer intend to frequent. read more

So I'm having a heck of day with shit customer service. I bought spanx size was fine when I got home and opened them they were the wrong ones I wanted. So today the next day I go to exchange and the sales woman tells me bc they're opened that I cannot return them because they can't resell them. I ask her where on the receipt or the packaging does it say that you cannot return spanx after opened. She proceeded to tell me that it was an unspoken rule with the manager present that opened pantyhose type products once open cannot be returned. I told her you need to write that down on your product then. You cannot just assume things. The manager was pathetic and did nothing and basically I took my receipt and my messed up purchase and left. I Will never shop at Dillards again and definitely not recommend anyone to ever shop at Dillards for their poor customer service and lack of direction for returns or exchanges. My mother just came from this store, and we will never be going here or possibly any Dillard's again. As my mother was walking out of the store, she was accused of stealing a dress that was actually bought from Macy's. After the security guard trying to take the dress multiple times, my mother finally showed the security guard the tag that clearly says Macy's, the manager was involved. After much discussion, it came out that someone named Maria had told the security guard that the dress was theirs, and accused her of trying to steal it. The manager "apologized" in the most snotty tone possible, and told her to stop repeating herself, and tried to push her out of the store. For someone that spends thousands of dollars a year, especially around Christmas time, this is a HUGE insult! We will never shop here again. Avoid this Dillard's unless you want to be treated as a thief. read more

I am writing my review in regards to the shoe department of Dillards at Arrowhead Towne Center. There is a lady that works there named Hilda whom I search out any time I purchase shoes, there was one occurence where there was a pair of shoes I wanted to purchase and I had to order them (which I hate doing) however Hilda was EXTREMELY helpful start to finish of the process. I used to shop at Dillard's all the time... But NO LONGER! They have changed their policy on returns, I bought a pair of shorts back in July 2015 and they sat unworn until October when I went to return them they would only give me a gift card! Their policy is 30 days! Well we have been out of town and traveling and was not able to get back to the store in thirty days. I had to take a gift card. Then I decided to spend my gift card and had to pay an extra 20.00 on the thing I got. It did not fit right so I took it back the next day. At the register, I could only get a gift card back on entire purchase, they sent me to costumer service to get my 20.00 back and my original gift card which was great but why did I have to go to costumer service for the return!? What happened to costumer service at the register!? And why do stores like Victoria Secrets have a 90 day policy & Macy's & Nordstrom have a receipt policy! What happened to you Dillard's? I miss the old days when you were a lot more friendlier & costumer oriented. I will go back and spend my gift card but no longer will you be my place... read more

I have been going to Dillard's for many years for my make up. I have bought other items but choose to shop elsewhere as Dillard's is a tad out of my pricing although I did like their leather jackets until the one I bought in 2014. I couldn't even had it repaired due to where both pockets came apart. I'm not complaining of their products but I was completely insulted on my treatment. Never in my life have I been treated so disrespectfully. I assumed it was because I broke my arm and was in a sling and just couldn't put my makeup on. the worst experience i ever had , i entered the store from men's clothing, i walked through men's perfumes i saw two ladies standing they gave me just a look, l went to women shoes there was only one man running the department he was just looking at me then he approached & said have you been helped, i said no i'm just browsing, then he walked away, there's no hi miss how are you today?? there's no connection between selling associates & customers no greeting no suggestions nothing at all!! This review is in regards to the home department ONLY! I purchased a comforter set and it was not on sale. I specifically asked the sales associate ( after I asked her for assistance), if I could have a price adjustment if it went on sale within the week. She assured me that they had a 30 day price guarantee. Of course, it did go on sale within a week & I brought in the sales receipt. The gentleman sales associate recruited the help of the manager & she informed me that the holiday help often makes errors & that they do not have any price adjustment policy! ( I always wondered why there were so many little yellow POP tickets on a lot of their merchandise!) It is ironic that with the $ that I was going to get back,I was going to purchase MORE merchandise! Instead, I returned all of it & I won't be purchasing ANYTHING from that department @ that location. I feel that the PV Dillard's is a better location anyway. The manager @ Arrowhead was arrogant, condescending and not in the least interested in me as a customer! She needs to go back and take a refresher class in customer service. read more

This review is for the Clinique Make up counter in the Dillards store. I have traveled and dealt with many Dillards and Macys make up and perfume counters. I usually get excellent service and they even remember me because I return every year. When I went to the Clinique counter this past month the counter manager was very unprofessional and rude. She reprimanded a Clinique saleswoman (that was actually doing an excellent job with me) and made her feel like crawling in a hole for doing nothing wrong, then she made up some excuse to help me instead of the sales associate that had been helping me. Now - I was in sales and I know how hard it is and how time consuming it is to make a good sale and then this manager just came over and took me away and kept the sale. I was going to go the the head manager of Dillards and complain but at that time I had to just leave. The woman that originally waited on me had my name even in her files and the manager still took the sale, sorry but that's just wrong. I will not go back. read more
