I have some diet restrictions that don't allow me to eat potatoes, but I do splurge once a week and go to Dillion's for a sandwich and fries, cuz their fries are the best! I am also in love with their Bloody Mary's. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. One thing I wish they would do, is swing into the poker room. Many bartenders (everywhere - not just here) miss out on the opportunity to make more money by paying attention to video poker players.......I tip well when I get my drink on while I'm playing. read more

Dillons grill is pretty good so far, we have gotten take out a few times and I got the ribs and they are so good and a HUGE portions I have plenty of left overs, my husband got the chicken and beef brisket, he said the chicken was really good but the brisket was super dry. The absolute favorite between the family was the garlic fries with pulled pork and beer cheese, those were amazing! Overall good food some items I won't get again but that's just my preference. read more

If I had to describe my experience in one word, it would have to be "perfection!" I went in for lunch and ordered the pulled pork sandwich, like I do any other time I visit. Yet on this visit the head cook looked up and offered a friendly hello, he then proceeded to ask, "pulled pork with onion rings?" That alone made the service exquisite, as I proceed to sit my server comes over. Whom is just a warm personality type of gal, with a rockin head of hair. Took a client to lunch here by their recommendation, wow glad I know about this place for my next trip through. Amazing hamburgers, great homemade Cole slaw. Service was fast and very friendly even during the lunch rush. The interior had a cozy log cabin type of feeling and I really liked how the kitchen grill was located in the middle of the restaurant so you can hear and see your food being made. It was just all right. Service was good and the SALAD BAR was very delicious. We ordered the Farmers Nachos and it was gross. It was fried potato chips with lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, banana peppers and their beer cheese. Well the cheese was put on top with a squeeze bottle and it got cold and hard when it sat on top of the lettuce that was cold. There was no cheese on the chips itself. It was more like an after thought with the cheese. My daughter got the Ranchers mac n cheese with the beef brisket. It was basically dry shells and cheese with 2 huge slices of beef brisket thrown on top. Her dish was ok. What made it "ok" was that the beef brisket was actually delicious. We sat outside and the patio area is awesome. The kids were happy with their kids meals and ice cream after (which comes with the kids meal). The salad bar was very good and fresh. They have good beer on tap. I would go again and try other stuff because of the atmosphere and beer. It's good for kids and at least I know the salad bar will always off set anything off the menu hat isn't good. My friend did order the beef brisket dip (or something close to that) and he loved it. I was excited to try this restaurant after a friend recommended it. From the outside, it looked ok, but we found the inside to be rather worn and definitely not clean. The menu was so dirty, it was hard to read parts of it! Our craft beers were not at all cold and showed the signs of not being served in "beer clean" glasses- the lack of a head and no rising bubbles is a good indication of a less-than-clean glass. One of us ordered a basic burger and fries, the other the Double BBQ- open faced bbq beef and pork sandwiches. The burger was nothing to talk about and the frozen fries were pretty awful. As for the BBQ.....why take well-prepared meat and serve it on tough buns topped with some gawdawful, mass produced, sticky sweet sauce? BBQ sauce just isn't that hard to make! Then there is the music. In a town (and restaurant) that is cowboy and western everything, we were blasted with late 60's, early 70's Rock 'n Roll that was NOT conducive to enjoying a meal or talking. The hostess did turn it down when we asked, but it was still not music to dine by. Why not play music that goes with the theme of the restaurant? We won't be going back and I certainly won't suggest this to friends. read more

So glad we stopped in here. Best food we found in the 3 days we were there. Seems a bunch of restaurants in Prineville pretend to be fancy. This place was just good old eatin! I will eat here every time I come from now on. I had the 6 beef ribs with baked potato and slaw. All were good. The meat wasn't fall off the bone cooked but it was damn tasty. A local favorite. The last time I was there I ordered a chicken Caesar salad - very salty and very small (it was also very pricey). Now my husband is a meat eater - and he is always pleased with what he orders (meat). Be forewarned, it is really loud and it's not easy carrying a conversation. Dillans is the best in town which might not mean much considering we only have three steak houses to choose from. It is affordable, clean, always excellent food and the service is the best. The cooking happens in the center which is unique. They show sports on the multiple TVs. The bartenders know their stuff. I Highly recommend. read more

I decided to wait until my second visit to Dillons before writing a review. No improvement from the first visit. First visit was with a group of friends. I ordered a French Dip which consisted of meat (?) on a bun with aus jus. I question the meat because it appeared to be that compressed beef that masquerades as roast beef. There was nothing else on the sandwich...my fault for not reading the menu more closely. There is another sandwich which comes with onions, cheese and peppers (for an additional charge). The rest of the group had different things with varied reactions. About 4 weeks later the same bunch decides to go to Dillons. OK, why not? We were all sated together and placed our orders. Two people had to ask again for their bowls of chili. They received cups of chili. The waitress just giggled and said she would bring each of them a second cup. No thanks. We asked for separate checks and they got totally screwed up. Our waitress did not seem to know how to run the POS at the register and, even though there were several other servers, nobody wanted to help her. To sum it up, the food is edible-not great and the service is terrible. If it's up to me our group will pass on Dillons in the future. read more

My husband calls this "elevated pub food": better than most bar food, but worse than restaurant food. Our meal was truly a waste of time, calories, and money. The "barbeque" was simply cooked meat (not slow cooked, as BBQ should be, just cooked) with BBQ sauce painted on at the last minute. Chicken tasted terrible, and my dinner companion was equally disappointed in the beef ribs. Any BBQ that can be eaten with the single paper napkin provided (no extra napkins on the table, no extra BBQ sauce served with the meal) does not deserve to be called barbeque. Service was excellent, which is the only reason to give two stars. Unfortunately, there isn't a nearby alternative restaurant that's any better, Prineville is the opposite of a foodie town. Go to Rio in Madras or any of the excellent restaurants in Bend if you can possibly drive to better food. Your best alternative in Prineville is the Tasty Treet - 5 star greasy diner food. read more

For Prineville, it deserves 4 stars. Probably would give it 3/3.5 stars in a bigger city with more to offer. I feel they could use more items on the menu, it's kind of slim pickings in choices. But the burgers are great. I've tried a couple sandwiches and stay away from them now, the flavor wasn't good and the salt content was high. The ribs are excellent probably 8 times out of 10. Usually fall off the bone good, occasionally chewy or dry. Last time we went they were out of ice cream, which disappointed the youngest in our group who looks forward to root beer floats. That was a first though. Service is usually pretty good, every once in a while when they get busy their is a server or two who is less personable. It's definitely a place worth going to if you are stuck in Prineville. read more

Thought we would hit it up after many years of being gone. Starting with the service, It seems as if they are really nice and social to the people they knew being that Prineville is a small town. Cold, non-social and curt would describe the service for newbies! I never got a single refill on our drinks and had to ask when we were pretty much done with dinner. We asked if they gave a military discount and the waitress simply replied "No!" Nothing else... The food was mediocre, I had the spicy burger and my wife had the fish and chips. The salad pretty much came from the salad bar and was very blah! Needed to be a little more fresh! As we paid our bill, it was priced fairly, yet we didn't tip much, again, because the service was not good. Lastly, we accidentally left an animal toy on the table, and before I could get back to the place (within at most 20 minutes) The waitress had already thrown the toy in the garbage! I came back and looked around and asked. The outcome was, at least the waitress took claim to throwing it away, and she personally went through the garbage, found the small toy and cleaned it up. And Lastly lastly, I didn't feel good all night after the food, and spent the next day in the bathroom most the day. Coincidence? I think not! read more

Stumbled on this place wile doing business in Prineville. We knew it was promising when the parking lot was full on Saturday night. We were seated promptly and our food came quickly. The salad bar was fresh and varied and the soup (tomato basil) was outstanding. And then the ribs were delivered to the table. To say that these ribs were some of the best we have ever had is an understatement. They fell off the bone and were so flavorful.
