Great staff! Ordered take out and, while they got a small part of it wrong l, it was still delicious and the hostess (dreadlocks in a pony/bun) was fantastic. The steak was absolutely perfect. I haven't eaten much in Prineville before but I was craving BBQ and this popped up. I ordered the baby back ribs and brisket combo with sides of baked beans and coleslaw and a side of the garlic fries. The garlic fries were delicious and made you want to spoon up all of the fallen garlic: however, the fries seemed to be a little over fried and not ask crust/fresh. I devoured the ribs and the brisket was just an added bonus. The sides are what you're pretty much expecting, normal. If I were to come back I would just order pounds of the brisket. read more

I like going where the locals go. So I asked our hotel staff "If you were on a special date, where would you want to be taken". They said "Dillons". When I got to Dillions the bartender was friendly, the beer was refreshing, and the environment was western themed. The food however was less than exciting. I love juicy pulled pork, and cheese french fries. I got really excited when I saw that they had a plate that put pulled pork on the cheese fries. Unfortunately, the pulled pork was dry and the liquid cheese (like melted Velveeta) made the fries a bit soggy. We also had the chicken wings, that were just "eh". For me, the only thing that really saved the meal were the sauces they provided that gave it all some extra flavor. We were going to order entrees, but decided to save our money since it didn't meet our expectations. Were were hoping for something better than average, and felt the food was just ok. For me, 3-stars meets expectations, and unfortunately Dillions fell short with or without the recommendation from the hotel. read more

We called ahead and was told it wasn't busy therefore didn't make a reservation. We got there 20 minutes later and it was a 20 minutes wait that turned into 35. We went with family who recommended it. My headband and I passed time-by grabbing a beer and play a little lottery. Very cute/ casual place staff is on top of things the salad bar was constantly being stocked (they should clean under it though) when we sat our drinks orders were taken as menus were laid down. Our food orders taken when drinks were brought. It took one beer to have our food ready. We had at the table brisket Mac, onion rings, postal skins, surf Turf and a taco salad. Everyone was happy. It seems that whenever we try to dine at Dillons, there is always a wait because they are busy. We showed up for dinner on an early Tuesday evening before 6pm and was asked to wait for about 20-30 min. But we only waited about 15 before we were seated. Our server and hostess greeted us with a smile and friendly small talk. After we tasted the candy cane porter, we ordered a few. Received our meals quickly and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Great service and tastey food with a nice selection of local brews on tap. Definitely will return again. Just maybe for lunch instead due to the regular busyness of the dinner crowds. It is nice to sit outside on the patio in the warmer months. Maybe the owners should look into getting those patio heaters to utilize that space in the colder months. read more

Coming out of Yelp retirement to say this is the dirtiest restaurant I've ever stepped foot in. No idea about the food or the service but when the floor of the dining room is covered - like peanut shells in a BBQ restaurant covered - in food and trash, you don't stick around to see how things turn out. If they can't bother to sweep or vacuum the dining room floor at 2pm on a Sunday when the restaurant isn't even busy, I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. This is a wonderful restaurant in downtown Prineville. We were in the area on our way to the John Day Fossil Park and stayed the night in Prineville. Dillon's was recommended by our motel (Econo-Lodge) which also let us know that Dillon's gives a 10% discount off the bill when you show your room card. The place is clean and comfy, the wait-staff very helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious. The BBQ chicken, the burgers and the BBQ sandwich were all very, very good and you could tell that they make their own (very good) cole slaw, potato salad, chili and beans. Fountain drinks were quickly refilled for free. We went with 2 adults and 4 teenagers and one adult had a Guinness beer and still the bill came to under $70. Recommended. read more

Four of us came here for dinner. The service was terrible. While our order was taken quickly, our food still hadn't been served after 30 minutes. Our server left on vacation, evidently, because she didn't return. We had to flag down another server. To be fair, the pulled pork sandwich was pretty good which is why I gave this place 2 stars. However, the fries that came with it were cold. My buddies had French dips and chicken wrap. None were happy with their orders. The French dips had very little meat. Bottom line, we were all disappointed. Usually I'll give a place another shot, but I don't believe this place deserves it. read more

Man what a great place. Had the rib sampler as it was our first time here. Pleasantly surprised that they had beef ribs. So many so-called bbq places don't have them and it's a shame because I love them! The beef ribs and baby backs were so tender and juicy. A bonus is the many side choices and their willingness to mix and match. Being low-carb, it was great to find steamed broccoli as an option. It was perfectly steamed and bright green. It was perfectly seasoned with a hint of lemon zest, what a nice touch. Our server, Sasha was excellent, friendly and fast. Pretty much a perfect lunch. We will be back! read more

This place was recommended by the front desk person at our hotel and I am so glad I came. I had the ribeye which was the most delicious steak that I have ever had that I didn't cook myself. It was tender and juicy, topped with grilled onions and garlic butter. OMG! Happy tummy! The baked potato was moist and soft. The salad was very fresh and crisp. And the server was very attentive and prompt. I will definitely be back the next time I come through Prineville. read more

Food was okay, but not remarkable; however we were seriously turned-off by a staff who was in a big hurry to close and go home. We came a full hour before closing for dinner, and right when the first course came out, our server started broom-sweeping the carpet all around us, stiring up dust. Within just a few minutes they had closed down the soup bar before my wife had even been up, and they were knocking on the restroom doors to close them for cleaning. They also kept coming back to our table trying to collect dishes that we were clearly still eating from. Very irritating. They discounted the bill slightly for closing down the soup bar, but we didn't come for a discount... we came to have dinner. If you're in that big of a hurry to go home, then change your hours, but dont rush your customers out the door, because they will not come back! read more

Ate here for lunch. I had the fried cheese curd appetizer it was tasty. I got the brisket with beans and garlic fries. The portions were great but the brisket arrived cold and it was covered with a sauce that tastes exactly like a sauce on honey baked ham. It did not go with my cold brisket.
