They serve complimentary tea and their chili oil is also solid. I usually get the beef stew wonton noodles or the beef brisket rice roll with cilantro, green onion and always add an egg! The beef stew wonton noodles are on par in value and taste with my favorite places in Chinatown and I'm pretty sure the same goes for the beef brisket rice roll (I think it has more meat tbh). We're always on the look out for dim sum places, especially ones that open a bit earlier so we can avoid crowds. Enter "Dim The Way" (bonus points for being around the corner from our doggo's vet). We went at 10am on a Sunday: no wait and they accommodated our party of 10. The dishes came out quick and were hot and tasty. Our favorites included the congee (flavorful without needing white pepper), shui mai (meaty and juicy), and the mein dishes (noodles were thin and chewy in a savory broth with yummy won ton). If you come to dim the way, you should only order the rice noodle rolls. They were freshly made so it was super silky and supple. The congee we ordered was a steal but there was nary a century egg inside. It was also odd that they used ground pork. But hey, I'm also not really going to complain about a $6 huge bowl of porridge if you're hungry. We also got the lo mein with wonton which was also just ok. The wonton don't have shrimp so for me, that's a huge downer. But, the noodles were cooked perfectly. It had that nice snappiness that you expect from proper HK cuisine. Found this charming little new restaurant after dropping our dog off at the Ocean Avenue Vet clinic a block away and on my way to Whole Foods. Family run restaurant with very reasonable prices. Serves authentic Chinese noodle and won ton soup that are very tasty. Have your noodles with beef tendon, char siu, and/or wonton either with yummy hot broth or lo mein style. If really hungry or sharing your noodles try adding one of their popular rice roll noodles dishes or dim sum. The rice noodles are different from your typical dim sum restaurants in that there are several flat rice noodle layers and folded over. I find the food comparable to other noodle shops in the Sunset or Richmond. I've had my share of rice rolls during my Flushing, NY rice roll food crawl, along with other places in the city and in the Vancouver area. We ordered four different ones. * Minced Pork Roll $6.80 - This was the favorite for the Little Guy and Little Gal. * Beef Brisket Roll $9.80 - The Husband and I really enjoyed this one, especially with the bits of tendon. Yum! We appreciated the flavor of the sauce for this one too. * Shrimp Roll $7.80 * BBQ Pork Roll $7.80 The other two were good as well, but the top two just happened to be our favorite. The rice rolls are made to order, so they do take awhile coming out one by one. We wouldn't have it any other way. I also think their portions are quite generous and appreciate how it was cut for serving. It's just perfect for sharing. The additional soy and chili oil add the extra kick if you need it. The place is so good that we went here two weeks in a row. First time we went, it was around 6pm on a Friday night and there were only 2 tables with people there and the next time we went, we went at 6:30pm on a Wednesday and there weren't any tables taken, so please support this business! The wontons in the lo Mein is also packed with flavor. The stew consisted of beef with tendon. Some tendon might not be as tender as you want, but the chili oil once again makes it tastes really good. This is such a hold in the wall spot!! Prices were amazing - with most dishes under $10 (which is unheard of these days). The portions are also huge which makes everything super good value. We ordered wonton noodle soup, there were lots of wontons and a good amount of noodles, the broth was super clean and didn't taste too salty which is my preferred. For rice rolls, we ordered the bbq pork and shrimp. Both plates were decently sized but I felt like the rice noodle ratio to meat was a little bit too much. The BBQ pork buns were OK, they just didn't have any BBQ flavor so they were pretty bland. Also had the custard buns which were also fine. The interior is a bit spartan and the walls are very green but it was clean which is the most important part! Walked in, got pointed at a table and handed menus. Visited this place for dinner at a very early time of approx 5:30pm. The place was empty and we were greeted promptly by what looks like a family owned team of staff. Food was great. It was actually not as salty as other places that fill their items with MSG, so I was glad I didnt have any palpitations (which I usually get with food that's super salty). The noodles were soft and chewy. My husband wasn't impressed and compared it to another restaurant but I think they delivered it well. The place was very clean and tidy. The only downside was that because we were the only people eating, we felt neglected since we had to call their attention multiple times to get items like a spoon, napkins, and a water refill. Ummm...I eat here at least once a week. My toddler can be a finicky eater and she refuses to eat any wontons but theirs!!! Their chili oil is phenomenal. I can pour that on anything. I hoard the takeout chili oil in a reusable tupperware. The portions are decent and you can always ask for each wontons for your order (6 extra for $3). Their broth is never overly salty.
