This business needs to be informed on how to treat customers with service animals. Today my friend went in with her small chihuahua that is trained to alert when her husband's insulin drops (diabetes). She was kicked out because she didn't have a card showing proof. Under federal law that is not required and there are only two questions they are allowed to ask. The owner rudely created a scene and kicked them out. This place serves the best Greek and American food in the area. My friend ordered a trio of Greek foods. Spinach pie, some thing that sounds like Mufasa from lion king, and another dish that sounds like pistachio but I can't remember the name. They were all excellent. I ordered a gyro with fries and soup. Excellent too! What really wowed me was the friendliness of the staff and our waitress. She brought out a sample of the soup I ordered so I could decide if I liked it. Excellent too. Greek lemon chicken soup. Lastly, the prices were low. Really happy that I found this place. Was in Sebring for a Golf trip this past weekend and was staying at the Kenilworth lodge and I walked over here for Breakfast. I was there first thing when the doors opened. I was seated right away at the bar. Within a couple minutes I had a water and coffee right in front of me. Then menu is not overwhelming, but everything looked good. At this time I went with the South of the Border. Basically Biscuits and Gravy, homefries, and topped with eggs. You need good Gravy to make it in the Breakfast biz in my opinion and this place has it. Took no longer then 8 minutes for my food, my water and coffee never went dry, and the Ladies working at the time were excellent. When I was on my out the place was starting to get packed. Just seeing that I knew I made a good choice coming here. Also received 10 percent off of my bill since I was staying next door the staff told me about it. This morning, my husband and I were refused service here because of my husband's service dog. By law we are not required to provide documentation, (see paragraph 3 of the law below) in fact, there is not a card or anything that you can get that claims your dog is a service dog....our dog wears a service dog vest and it is clearly marked SERVICE DOG. This establishment needs to learn Federal law when it comes to treating people with service dogs. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act no establishment, and that includes restaurants, can refuse service to a person because they have a service dog. They can only refuse service if your dog is causing problems or is not housebroken. This was not the case. In fact when the owner came up he asked where the dog was. Our dog is trained to lay under the table as far back as possible and to not make any noise. Now if he had to ask where the dog was...why was it an issue. The owner was very rude, would not look at the documentation that I tried to share with him. He snatched our menus off the table, told us it was his restaurant and his rules and to get out! This is the first time we have ever been treated so rudely. SOOO if you have a service dog, or have friends or know someone with a service dog...don't try to eat here...you will be kicked out. We eat out frequently and have NEVER had problems in any restaurant except this one. Here is the federal law from the ADA. How "Service Animal" Is Defined Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person's disability. Where Service Animals Are Allowed Under the ADA, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is normally allowed to go. For example, in a hospital it would be inappropriate to exclude a service animal from areas such as patient rooms, clinics, cafeterias, or examination rooms. However, it may be appropriate to exclude a service animal from operating rooms or burn units where the animal's presence may compromise a sterile environment. Inquiries, Exclusions, Charges, and Other Specific Rules Related to Service Animals When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task. Allergies and fear of dogs are not valid reasons for denying access or refusing service to people using service animals. When a person who is allergic to dog dander and a person who uses a service animal must spend time in the same room or facility, for example, in a school classroom or at a homeless shelter, they both should be accommodated by assigning them, if possible, to different locations within the room or different rooms in the facility. A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken. When there is a legitimate reason to ask that a service animal be removed, staff must offer the person with the disability the opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal's presence. Establishments that sell or prepare food must allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises. People with disabilities who use service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons, treated less favorably than other patrons, or charged fees that are not charged to other patrons without animals. In addition, if a business requires a deposit or fee to be paid by patrons with pets, it must waive the charge for service animals. If a business such as a hotel normally charges guests for damage that they cause, a customer with a disability may also be charged for damage caused by himself or his service animal. I have been here for breakfast and lunch. Their food is fresh and pretty decent. They serve my favorite biscuits and gravy over any other place in the area. You will hear that they serve breakfast all day, but let my experiences tell you to beware. The first time I tried to get breakfast after 11 they told me there was no gravy available. Okay, so I got lunch. The second time I called beforehand and asked the owner if they would have gravy after 11. He answered that they would because they serve breakfast all day. So we go... I get there and the waitress informs me yet again, no gravy. I explained how we had called beforehand to make sure. She walks away from the table and never comes back until our food arrives. What I received was not their normal gravy... To this day I still have no clue what it was. I asked to speak to the owner. We spoke and I informed him about my last two trips for breakfast after 11. Staff was very friendly and had good service overall. The price was good for the size as the sizes were country style- HUGE! We ordered pasta, a Greek mix, and crab baked fish. Each dish came with a side, salad, soup or vegetables. We had calamari and a slice of key lime pie and the price was $70 overall. Very good value! We couldn't finish any of our dishes as our stomachs were stuffed! All of it is homemade as well which gives me more comfort knowing that their isn't chemicals and what nots in my food. Sebring, Florida. Saturday night and it was packed. It is obviously a very popular place with Snowbirds in Sebring, FL, on the weekends. We have no complaints with the wait for a table, and everyone is very pleasant and attentive. But the food. Maybe we shouldn't have ordered Italian. It was bland with too much cheese and sauce. To be fair, the menu is very extensive and they probably excel in seafood or red meat or poultry or... we just don't know. But our meals just filled us up and sat there for the rest of the weekend. Went to the Inside bar side so we could try the pizza and stay away from the heat. It was a group of eight and we had 4 different items from the menu. Staff was great, food was good, price was reasonable but the flies......inside the bar area, not acceptable. So many problems with this restaurant. Poor Service. You order drinks but get no cocktail napkin or stir straws. They do not offer a menu, you have to ask. Bar was wet and dirty. Bartenders talking trash about other employees in front of everyone. Tray that holds the olives, limes, lemons etc. was open and disgustingly dirty with bugs flying around it. Bartenders eating behind the bar when busy. Always mess up food order. Staff appears to have no professional training. They never smile. They over pour drinks big time. Bartenders smoking a vape right in front of people eating. Have seen a bartender put on deodorant behind the bar and brush her hair while people are eating in front of her. Bartender put our check in the wet mess on the bar, put our change in same place. We will not go back unless they really clean up the place and employees. Used to be a great place with good food. Great service. The menu is HUGE. Not really a good thing because there's no way all that could be kept/made fresh. The soup was from a can or mix but my sandwich was okay. Was my 70th birthday and my husband wanted to take me to breakfast at what we call "The Cake Place"...Every time we go to breakfast....I am stopped at the front door by the Cake display. So much for the bacon and eggs....I can't get past the cake...have a different one every time. He wanted the florist to deliver the roses to our table...BUT they don't deliver till 11am. So he went to Shelly (owner) the day before and asked if she would keep them till morning when he brought me in...Shelly said...no problem ...she would put them in her cooler. It was great...the Roses were at our booth with rose peddles sprinkled all around the table. WoW...What a great surprise. Here is another surprise...I had "Cake"! Thanks Shelly and all her Staff for making it the beginning of a very special day. I wanted to add the picture the waitress took of how the Staff fixed up the booth for us but I did not see where I could add a picture. Dimitri's has it all! Happening local scene at the Bar and a nice quiet restaurant. And Variety!!! I visited here 6 times in a week due to it's convenient location visiting family and it was 1 of my 3 favorites in Sebring! We tried a variety of things from Italian (Fettuccine) , Greek (Combo plate), soups, desserts, all good and Coconut shrimp was great! All in all good and really nice hard working staff! Bar is fun to sit outside and order Pizza. They have live music, guitarist and singer frequently, yet the Restaurant is nice and quiet. Easy to go ordering and take out. read more

Only found this diner nearing our visit end to Sebring. It is on the route to "historic Sebring" not on main US 27. Food is plentiful and very good. Service was spot on and prompt! Tried both a lunch one day and early bird dinner 2 days later. More food than we could eat at one sitting! Fish dishes were EXCELLENT! Prices are average for this type of diner! Visited Dimitri's for a mini-class reunion on a Saturday afternoon. We were all very impressed by the service we received as well as the patience of the wait staff in dealing with a group of people more interested in talking amongst ourselves than ordering. Our food was served hot and tasted very good. I ordered the clam strips and was pleasantly surprised by both the clams and the fries. My wife had the chicken tenders and enjoyed them as well. I suspect if we do this reunion again next year, we just might end up at the same place as everyone left happy. read more

Dimitri's has been a good place to go for lunch for quite some time, and now they have added a pizza kitchen with excellent results. In our view it is the best pizza in the area. Our personal favorite is the Tuscan Shrimp White Pizza, but all the offerings (and there are many!) are good. Also try the Stromboli...very good! The pizza is available to eat only on the porch or in the bar, not in the restaurant itself. Dimitri himself is a very hands-on owner and if there is any problem with the food he will see that it is taken care of. All in all, one of the best places in town. read more
