The inside is beautifully designed, but the patio was perfect for a summer night. Ordered a round of cocktails and all were well done, the Calabrian dirty martini was actually spicy, which I love! Though, not sure if I tasted the hazelnut in the hazelnut espresso martini but I liked that it wasn't sticky sweet like most espresso martinis. Ordered the panzanella salad which was outstanding, the dressing as so tangy and the bread soaked it up without getting soggy, and the heirloom tomatoes were perfectly ripe. Sleeper hit for sure. Mozzarella sticks were fine, nothing special. We got 3 pastas: farfalle primavera, gnudi pomodoro, and spicy vodka stuffed shells. The gnudi are worth the hype - so pillowy and different. The stuffed shells had a little bit of crisp on the edges which I loved, and the veg on the farfalle was generous. We split 1 four cheese pizza, they are small but very flavorful! You can taste the quality of ingredients for sure. The sauce was maybe sweet-leaning, which I prefer in tavern style pizza! Got 2 desserts, the tiramisu and chocolate cake. Swapped the vanilla gelato for coconut per our server's suggestion and so glad we did! The cake was rich but the mousse layers kept it from being too rich - the slice was a little small, though. The tiramisu was delicious, great balance of espresso flavors and smooth marscapone cream and the cookie on top gave it some nice texture. Managed to snag a weekend lunch reservation on RESY. Overall, although everything looked booked at first glance, there were a lot of cancellations on the notify list, so if you are reasonably fast and flexible on your time, it wasn't hard to get a weekend reservation with 1-2 weeks advance prep. Interior is very classic, with a dark older aesthetic and some nice stained glass features. The menu is short and very American-Italian forward. We got cocktails which were tasty but didn't stand out. The food leans more comfort food classics. While everything was delicious, they didn't really stand out. Portions were a bit small for the price. We got the famous pizza, and I found it very unique. I can see how it would be love it or hate it. The pizza is pretty small given how thin it is, and we easily split a pizza between two people without feeling stuffed. The crust is extremely thin and crispy, it was almost like eatting a pizza on a tortilla thickness amount of crust. It wasn't very reminiscent of tavern style pizza as much as it's a specific recipe Dimmi Dimmi does. We stopped in around 6:30 on a Thursday and had to wait approximately 20 min for a seat at the bar as we couldn't get a reservation. The women at the door were so kind and helpful, and it made the walk-in process way less stressful. The bar staff was super friendly, and they offer full menu service there. The cracker crust pizza is an absolute must! It blew me away. I was stuck between four and five stars but I think the pizzas themselves are a 5-star experience. Finally managed to try the hot table in town! Now that the patio is open, which is first come first served, it's much easier to dine here. Relieving I know! The inside is very small so the patio truly doubles the seating capacity. Our server Lily was wonderful, and added to the relaxed and welcoming vibe. It can be hard to get a reservation here. It took me about 1.5 months to get something and it was for Sunday lunch. The inside is small but very cute. The lunch menu is smaller than the dinner. We decided to pick out a few things to share. Our server was helpful and explained the menu well. We started with the Caesar Salad and Crispy Lemon Chicken (which we were told the chicken is only on the lunch menu). Both fabulous! The Caesar is lemon and anchovy forward with garlic bread croutons. The Crispy Chicken is also lemon forward- it has a lemon slice you can squeeze on top, which is recommended. We asked for another slice- we love lemon! Lol The chicken was crispy and seasoned well. It also was paired the a sweet and sour sauce, which was not spicy. I want to start by saying that the restaurant and waiter were so kind and patient, as we waited for our whole party to show up. While the bartender was slow, the drinks (especially all the spritz's) were amazing and worth the wait. All the entrees were so perfect for sharing, however, I would recommend getting two pizzas. The thin crust makes you wanting and needing more! I think my favorite dishes were the stuffed shells and the dimmi salad. It was the perfect combo! My friends and I really wanted to try this place but we couldn't get a reservation so we went right when they opened at 4pm on a Thursday and we were seated right away! Well. I saw an Instagram post about this place as a pizza destination so then I looked it up on Yelp. 4.2 huh? I've been in Chicago my entire life, both sides of town. I could not have been more disappointed. Most importantly this pizza isn't that good. It lacks flavor, has virtually no sauce and is ridiculously small. Secondly they don't take over the phone orders and make you order online for pickup but do not allow you any extra instructions. A little bit cramped but nothing uncomfortable. We started out with the Focaccia with ricotta and honey and it was very good. If you are a savory cocktail connoisseur, you must order the Calabrian Dirty Martini. It has a small spice to it, but it is a focal point of their drink menu. In addition to drinks, we started with the Charred Squash Salad (which is seasonal for winter) and the Baked Clams Casino. Both dishes I could not recommend enough. The squash is served carpaccio style with a small bed of greens on top. The clams were buttery and breaded and so good. For mains, we had the Vodka Pizza and the Orecchiette Tarantino pasta. The pizza was absolutely incredible and what I look for in a vodka sauce. The pasta was a much larger orecchiette noodle than I've experienced before, which was unique and filling.
